Bea Avery-Hastings was the Cool Kid of her generation. She wasnât the queen bee or the head cheerleader, but she was the girl who didnât care about anyone elseâs opinion. She was so unashamed to be herself in a world filled with teens getting insta-validation that she often felt a little out of place. Thankfully, her father was always there to support her through it. Heâd been an outsider to the UES once, and he always understood what she was going through. Because of that, he was her favorite. Her mother--vapid, vain, airheaded Lyndsy--never really seemed to be able to relate to her. The worst part? Lyndsy never noticed that she wasnât connecting with Bea.
Beaâs fiercely protective of her younger brother, and has been since they were in foster care together over twenty years ago. Her easy-going personality disappears when it comes to him, and not always to his benefit. Usually, though, she was pleasant and friendly to be around. In a lot of ways, her personality seems to contradict itself, but Bea likes to think sheâs just adaptable. Despite being incredibly driven and ambitious, Beaâs never been cutthroat, preferring to lift others up and help them achieve their goals as well.
Unfortunately, her focus on work and work-related activities can put a strain on her personal relationships. Sheâs been known to disappear down a rabbit hole of work for days on end, forgetting to even shoot a quick text to friends that she wonât be making dinner. Because of this, sheâs developed a bit of reputation for being inconsistent.
Daughter of Gunnar Avery and Lyndsy Hastings
Creative and driven, flaky and protective
Loves women and men, please donât ask her to choose
Joseph Vandervort: One of her best friends. Theyâve been close for a long time, but recently Beaâs started to see him in a different light, and itâs kind of freaking her out.
- Avery-Hastings: Beaâs brother, and the person she cares for most in the world. Sheâs a bit of a mama bear when it comes to him.
Emmy Vanderbilt: They know each other from work, and even tried dating for a short while, but theyâve always worked better as casual friends who get together to bitch about work every so often.
Angel Hunter: Beaâs intern. Most of their office-mates have wondered if thatâs actually flirtation, or just Angel being friendly. Weâre wondering, too.
