The Immortal Hate is a warrior cats based comic inspired by The Magnus Archives podcast.
Former house cat Gladiolusflare wants nothing more than to prove he belongs among his colony, so when a mysterious illness starts to plague his home he takes it upon himself to investigate the cause. However beneath the surfaces lies something far deeper and more sinister than she could've anticipated.

i'm back with an update!!! sorry for the silence
my estimate for returning with updates during may was it seems a bit too hopeful, some life stuff came up around april/may and in general i think i need to accommodate for myself a bit more and create a more balanced workload for myself. just the early growing pains of making a first real comic!
trust that i'm still determined to work on tih, it's just a workload and life balancing issue. THIS TIME i can assure updates will be back before august, and they'll be just once a month. if that changes though i'll update

So out of curiosity I decided to link Batflurry's extended family since I noticed there were some players that were from different clans (notably Wolfgorge and Locustflight). My conclusion?
This family could take over the Caverns and I look forward to their inevitable rule /j (this isn't a complaint btw but more of a "damn, das a big tree")

did lostgaze lose all memory of their life before the incident, or was it just the incident itself (their fur turning white etc) that they had no memory of?
there will be more details about their story later, cuz from gladi's perspective what happened to them is sort of an urban legend, but ill just say now they do not remember the event that changed them. they still have memories of their life before
Do you have any tips or advice about how do you pick your color pallets for your cat design? Including their ears :0000

sometimes i colorpick irl cats or birds or other references and shift some hues around to make it cohesive, but most of the time i freehand colors and make a palette off a base color!!
showing a more recent design as example: frondshadow! i did reference a real cat for his design but i do not have it on me anymore... but i started off with a desaturated gray base color, and based the other colors off that as i went! - darker color: for the solid tabby markings i moved the hue darker than the base (orange to purple) and kept the saturation similar while turning the brightness way down - transition color: sorta nebulous but in my designs i usually like a more saturated inbetween color that unifies the design more, along with the hue slightly shifted from the base (orange to red) - lighter color: for this design i did want him to have a cream belly so i went with a lighter hue from the base (orange to yellow) and upped the saturation - lightest color: the offwhite is just a very light yellow while still slightly gray
thats just breaking down one design in particular though, i use different methods depending on how i want the character look, but usually i tend to follow this formula
as for ears, have a few!
usually i take a color from the design and turn it a pinker hue and make it more saturated, but other times i already have or can turn a color in the design into the ear color, i usually like doing eye colors cuz that makes the design feel more unified! for cats with a darker pelt, i like using more purple ear colors, and cats with lighter pelts i use more pinky/peach ear colors, but its not a hard and fast rule, i usually just like picking whatever looks nice!
other things with my designs esp regarding tih - i try to minimize colors as much as i can usually. its a comic im gonna draw these damn guys all the time i dont want more colors than i need. the characters pelts USUALLY have no more than 5-6 colors. i also minimize using gradients cuz i find them hard to animate - as a hard rule i NEVER use true white or true black
I'm finally listening to TMA I hope this comic won't be in the back of my mind the whole time
this has been my real goal all along all according to keikaku (pls heed the trigger warnings of tma though)

I think The Obfuscation was in my most recent dream. They were a part of this story thing with these three other cats that were meant to be in the TIH world/story but were definitely made up by my brain for the dream. I don't know how to put what happened into coherent words tho, sorry. Uhh, The Obfuscation I hope you enjoyed looking into my brain and looking at my weird autism)
that was the real obfuscation i send them into peoples dreams to torture them sorry
