Poppy is my favorite character in the entire Poppy Playtime franchise. I'm a little upset by the overall negative attitude toward her in the Poppy Playtime community. I don't really understand the reason for this. Or rather, I understand the reason, but I don't understand so much hate directed at her, considering that Prototype is held in higher regard, although... Surprise, surprise, he's a manipulative dictator who committed mass murder of both guilty and innocent people. I don't see much of a difference between Poppy and Prototype. They are literally two sides of the same thing. Poppy is a small porcelain doll, Prototype is a giant metal contraption. Poppy saw a future only for orphans, not toys, while Prototype, by killing the orphans, took their future away. Both have radical solutions to problems. Poppy's plan is to blow up the entire factory, thereby destroying all the work and evidence... and living proof, too. The Prototype, meanwhile, has been starving the entire factory for 10 years, just to keep the public from discovering their existence. Both are clinging to the "adults." Poppy can't let go of the player, and the Prototype has been trading caustic jabs with Dr. Harley Sawyer for 10 years. Both are desperately unwilling to accept their roles. The Prototype was only second to Poppy (or rather, he was first, but you get the idea, I hope). His entire life is for her. Everything is for her. His body is just a testing ground for experiments that push him to new horizons. Poppy, on the other hand, is the one for whom this entire bioengineering initiative was created. In their hour of joy, they both lead a revolution. And what's the outcome? The Prototype is the leader, the god, the messiah. He's in charge now. Everything is his. Every toy is his toy. And Poppy... She quickly abandoned her leadership position and now lives in a state of constant terror. BUT, after a while, she still leads the rebels, because she understands that the unfortunate children in the toys need a strong leader and a shining beacon. The Prototype, for the most part, didn't care about anyone else or himself. I assume the Hour of Joy occurred because Experiment 1006 felt sorry for Poppy, since she felt all the pain during the scientific procedures. They're both very similar, but I still prefer Poppy because... I don't know. I just like the idea of a fragile little girl standing up to a cruel, cold-blooded boy (but I don't really think so; the Prototype is simply a product of those circumstances). Yes, she tried to blow up the entire factory, but only to ensure that hell never happened again. She wanted to take responsibility so the children could sleep peacefully. I don't think it was easy for her. What difference did it make, after all, how the toys would have died? From hunger and the Prototype's hands, or from everything exploding? At least there was a chance none of that would happen again. But it all goes down the drain, because the fucking VHS mentions a Japanese branch of the factory, meaning there's a chance the suffering will never end. YEP. Either way, Poppy's cool.I believe in you, little brave crazy girl

Two quick sketches of the Prototype
It's a funny scene, considering it was in the very first issue of the comic
