Aftermath // Rynn x Aden

Listening to Rynn made his blood boil and his own magic to rise to the surface. He could nullify an entire floor after a conversation with her, for she was right, strong emotion boosted their abilities. His loathing of her made it rather easy to boil over, and mages set for processing often found themselves temporarily stripped if he lost control. She knew the best ways, and was already working actively on aggravating him. Standing up, he immediately went to pacing, the hands free set making it easy for him to pace about.
“You still don’t get it, do you? Even as you acknowledge that you could set the city alight, you deny the most important fact of magic. It Is Dangerous.” He emphasized the point with insistent staccato of his voice. “We don’t bring about the fear of magic, it arises every time it flies out of control. We do not speak fear into the ears of the people, we speak cautionary words. Its motions like yours that make people afraid. They fear what they don’t understand, and you allow mages to run freely with those who don’t understand, expecting them to just learn on their own how best to control themselves.” He spun on a heel, moving the other way, his eyes glancing out of his office at the others. He could see that his restlessness was being noted, and that the others were busily trying not to seem like they were watching him. They must be waiting for the inevitable explosion. Was that Rynn’s latest post on the screen to the far left? He would be checking the postings later for his name, or the histories… “What we provide is security, making sure people are comfortable with themselves, and making sure they’re safe from those who would not understand them. Sure, they sacrifice the ability to live where they please, but so does a solider. They’re given every amenity they could want for. They’re given a way to learn control, a word I am sure you do not have in your vocabulary, and are allowed to be content. We give them a place to exists without looking over their shoulder. “You know what? I dont even know why I’m rehashing this point with you!” He exclaimed when the woman on the other side chuckled with her obvious gloating mischief. “You’re wild, reckless and crass, a forest fire that needs to be clipped. You’ll burn yourself out, when there is nothing left. I wont allow you to destroy what good will mages still have to their name. "This game you think we’re playing, it isn’t one. There are no odds. There is no victory for you. Just wait, I’ll once again prove the success of our venture, and you will be left standing there, gaping like a fish on land.”
