Miles Kane, the first person who listened to my new songs. By asking me to support him on tour, he helped me gain a larger audience. That’s what real friends do. Alex Turner, Miles and I are quite a team

This has been my Facebook “cover photo” for years, and I can’t see it ever changing. It’s possibly the greatest two sequential comic book panels ever committed to print.

The albums I did end up buying were:
Violent - We Are the City: I hadn't really heard a full song from them before I bought the album (I just trusted what I'd heard about them), and I've only listened to it twice all the way through so far, but I really them. I've kind of gotten stuck on the first song a lot, though (meaning I really immediately liked it, so I'm doing that thing where you listen to the song you know over and over until you get to know what's coming with every other song).
Keep on Your Mean Side - The Kills: the only album of their's I didn't own, so you could probably guess that I like it.
Horn of Plenty - Grizzly Bear: also the only album of their's I didn't own. I haven't known them for too long, but Grizzly Bear might be becoming one of my favorite bands (?)
What Would Christ Do?? - The Growl: I liked them when they opened for Tame Impala, and I love a few of the songs, but I haven't really gotten to know it as like /an album/ yet
The Cold Nose - Department of Eagles: kind of related my recent thing with Grizzly Bear, but I haven't really listened to the it yet

Ah! Thank you! I've been totally meaning to check them out but I keep forgetting.
I don't know how many people are on, but anyone have some album recommendations?

I haven't been on tumblr in a while, so someone needs to update me on what the kids are saying these days. Is howdy still acceptable? Darn-tootin'? What's been the status of cowboy-speak in 2013?
The Strokes and Vampire Weekend are both bands that fall under the category for me of "I don't actively think about how much I like them until I happen to hear something from them at the right time, and then it just all hits me at once".
