|| Clear didn’t have to tell Nanami twice; she nodded briefly, and dipped her voice low so that no potential onlookers could hear her.
“Don’t worry, Clear-kun. I won’t tell anyone. Just so long as you don’t tell anyone about my little secret," she added, smiling slightly. ”I…know how it feels, to be on the outside of things, so…I wouldn’t want to do anything to…make things difficult for you as well."
Nanami glanced around them, at the roomful of people just buzzing and brimming with life, real human life, and all at once, she didn’t know what to do with it. She glanced back at Clear, pressing her lips together.
“Clear-kun…would you like to go somewhere with me?"
Her nerves buzzed uncomfortably as she said it, but she pushed the sensation down; she wasn’t used to asking people to do things with her, wasn’t used to putting her up for rejection. But now that she was human, she felt it was time to get used to human sensations such as these. So she shrugged her shoulders, somewhat awkwardly, and pressed on:
“I…could use some help with my training. Since we’re both healers, it would be beneficial for you and I to help each other…I think. Or…we could just go for a walk, if you like."
Either way, she knew she couldn’t spend another second in this oppressive, noisy heat. So, she stood, offering the taller figure a hand as she went.
She wasn’t used to touching other people, either. But Clear was…different than most people. With him, it wasn’t quite as scary. ||
♯ Healers...yeah, that was what people had called Clear and his strange ability. But he hadn't anticipated her being one as well - he still didn't know what Aoba was considered in this alien land, but it must be something great. Maybe he was a magic user - with his voice, that would certainly be something people could consider him. But he knew he was a good fighter, so...
Oh, right. He should probably stop sitting there. He took her hand and stood, picking up his plate of unfinished lunch with a still-unseen smile. "Ah-- Alright, Nanami-san! I still don't understand these abilities I have very well, so practice will be very helpful!"
His voice was light with excitement and happiness as he moved away from the table. Slipping his hands into his pockets, he tilted his head slightly and added happily, "Please lead the way - and please forgive me if I am not very good at handling the healing abilities."
He hoped he would be good. He would be embarrassed if he couldn't master the healing capabilities he had been granted. Who knew when Aoba would need to be healed, after all!
Clear needed to work hard. That way he could protect Aoba. ♯
