I always thought the best thing about the Met Gala was the after party and late night snacks but I will not lie, coming back, getting into PJs and getting snuggles from my baby girl beats everything. You see everything through such  different lenses and I just kept wondering how yesterday night would feel and look like through her lesnse…is that crazy? 

You know, they’ve never invited me. Not that I feel like I’m missing out on too much but it does makes me wonder if I’m not fashionable enough or something. Through your little girls eyes? She’d see you as a princess or a queen, without a doubt. Or are we talking about a Met Gala for babies kind of situation? Can you imagine such a thing happening? Nothing surprises me...

I’m beyond relieved that N’awleans and Louisiana survived Ida on the anniversary of Katrina’s landfall - my family and friends’ homes still stand, and the damage is manageable despite the power outages. That being said, something funny happened to my uncle just this weekend. He received a parcel that had been dispatched over thirty-nine years ago! Apparently, the parcel was lost in transit, and the recent hurricane shook something loose, and it reappeared out of nowhere. 

Now, what do you think was in there? I’ll buy you a drink of your choice for the most accurate reply!

It must be one hell of a relief knowing that your family are safe with all the damage that Ida appears to have caused. Was it a parcel that he, himself had ordered? I wonder where it’s been before reappearing?!  There could be a whole film plot around this parcel. I’m not going to be anywhere close with guessing. Wine? A crate of wine on the doorstep would be quite nice.

For me, too! I saw the ad, and found it so funny? I love baby animals, and yoga relaxes me, so why not try both? I have no clue, but apparently they help you find your centre, or something of the likes. I’m sure that if you topple over, it’ll be a soft fall. We should see to it that we get it before. That would be fun. 

The ad couldn’t have been better. I’m not a yoga master, I’ve tried it a couple of times but nothing too advanced. I’m picturing a lot of bodies and a lot of goats bouncing around the place -- some chaotic fun. Who do we need to speak to to get the wine first?

This is going to be a first for me, I’m sort of curious how it all works but since I’m a very uncoordinated person, I don’t imagine that it’s going to go well. The wine either has to be before or during for me.

I don’t know anyone who can walk past an open box of chocolates and not have a look, or give into the temptation! And with these handmade chocolates from maître chocolatier Phillip Ashley of Memphis, TN, the temptation is basically irresistible. Oh, have I mentioned that it’s a Black-owned business, too (my friend Luvvie loves them to death)? They make the best treats, trust me on this, ladies!

Alternately, you can try some of the dark unicorn popcorn, which is a mix of dark chocolate, caramel and pecan, or the best kind of summer coffee blend!

I invite you all to step by the café and get some for yourself, with your coffees and puppy cuddles.

This is actually my second one, but the first I’m covered in make up and prosthetics, so apparently that doesn’t count. I’m excited about it, because of Chloe, and because I loved working on it, and because we really gave it out best shot. 

By the way, it’s totally okay not to be into superhero films - these days, there are a lot of them around. 

Smart casting move, Marvel. Prosthetics don’t count, you’re a whole different person. Chloe is amazing, a director that I would give a limb to work with at some point. I love how diverse the cast for this is, it’s all very exciting.

They’re not really my thing? I’ve tried, because I have so many friends that are involved but I can’t get into it. I’ll leave it to the pros.

I wouldn’t even begin to know what to do because I don’t have child free weeks. Now that Laura is filming, I’ve been put on 24/7 dad duty so my kids are always around but I would say just relax and catch up on some sleep because now that my kids are growing up, that is the one thing I miss the most of. 

So, you’re kind of in the reverse situation! It’s a little weird, being put on parent duty after a while, you get set back into the routine and realise what you’ve missed out on and then, when they’re gone, you’re struggling what to do with yourself. Oh! Sleep is a thing I’m a missing. My little one finds my bed more comfortable than hers, and it can be a challenge at times.

The Eternals Trailer dropped - how are we feeling?! I, for one, have been jumping around in my living room for the past hour, being totally excited about it! It looks so good? Chloe did a great job, and I cannot wait to see the final cut.

Confession time, I’ve never really been into the Marvel films, but I’m so excited about the Eternals. Chloé Zhao is one of the best female directors around and the cast? Utterly phenomenal. Kind of like winning the movie lottery.
