A small ocean liner is hosting a very special theme for it’s 100th cruise: ghost hunting. The first leg of the voyage is normal; well, as normal as it could be with that crowd. But then, they see a ship in the distance, a ship that looks eerily familiar. After a spotty distress call is placed, a group of passengers set off towards the ship, most of them believing it’s a hoax planned as part of the package deal. But when they see the very person they were journeying to go help jump to their death, they realize something else may be at play. The passengers will find themselves face to face with their own worst nightmare: reality.
In the Bermuda Triangle, nothing stays lost forever.
Hello everyone! As you’ve noticed, we’ve been a bit lax here on the main lately. Both Nat & I have been going through some stuff and have been debating on the best course of action for the roleplay. But don’t fear; we are not closing the roleplay down. We will be getting back up and running on Monday (March 7th) with the new episode post. Please be prepared to get active then. We will have our next activity check the Thursday of that week.
In addition to that, we are welcoming a new admin to our team: Bridget. Bridget’s gonna be helping us this weekend get organized and work on getting things going again, so get excited everyone! The action is finally starting!
Audrey Beckett (role will not be reopened) Ignore this.
Activity Warnings
We’re going to be lax on this activity check since things had gotten a little slow. But since the killer has now been chosen, we won’t be lax any longer. There will be another activity check Sunday afternoon, and anyone who has not been active in five days will be reopened without warning. Coincidentally, that will be our next acceptance date as well.
random chance is funny sometimes. Like right now, for instance, when we picked a killer from all those alias’ and it turned out to be Admin Ali’s. aaha.aha.aah.aha,la Funny. Hilarious. Obviously, we couldn’t have another admin as the killer this season much to Ali’s dismay....so. Yeah. We picked again.
Raginggarfield is our actual killer. Hopefully?
Uh. Same spiel as the last post. Join the Chatzy. Use the alias The Killer. The password will be what you sent in with your alias.
Alright, this is going to play out pretty similarly to last season. We’re going to wait for The Killer in a new, and private chatzy room that will be set to the password that our Killer sent in with their alias, so only they and the admins will have access to it. From there, they will be given the login for The Killer’s blog, and communications will happen via that blog after this point.
Our Killer for this season will be..... *drum-roll please*
Brock Olama !!!!
We will be waiting in the chatzy for as long as it takes for you to get on and contact us. Please try and get on within the hour, but if for some reason you cannot get on, message us on anon (and include both your alias & password so we know it is you) and we will work things out.
Please set your name in chatzy as The Killer, and keep the color to black. Remember, from this moment on you’re attempting to keep your identity a secret, even from the admins.
12:05 PM. SATURDAY. THE SAPPHIRE. BALL ROOM.
EPISODE 3: As I was, you are. As I am, you will be.
Which would be worse - to live as a monster, or to die as a good man?
Interesting question. I guess we all know dear Carson’s answer, now don’t we? Haha....Oh. It’s okay...laugh, let it out. You’re relieved. You’re still alive. You think that’s a blessing. And maybe, in any other circumstance you would be right. But here--on this ship? You’re exactly where you’re needed, and... I’m sorry to be the one to point out to you that your prolonged existence is closer to a curse than anything else.
You don’t believe me. It’s okay. I was in your shoes once.
I didn’t believe either.
Carson appears to have been the host for an evil entity, for who knows how long. In a final act of revolt, she managed to do the only thing she could: Kill herself and hopefully stop this evil from spreading. Too bad Carson didn’t realize the Hell she would be letting lose.
Our first death of the season, and the stage has been set for our Killer.
12 PM. SATURDAY. THE SAPPHIRE. BALL ROOM.
EPISODE 2: PLOT DROP TWO.
That wasn’t a very exciting game, was it?
Humor me. Tell me; Did you survive it?
Careful now, don’t get cocky. You might not be so lucky next time.
A woman you’ve seen running around tirelessly all night grabs a microphone and makes a bee-line for the stage. She looks intimidating, her smile more unsettling than anything. She holds a envelope in her hands, and as she stares you down in the crowd you suddenly understand how a mouse feels when being watched by a hawk.
Ahem.
She clears her throat. Smiles.
Ready to announce the winner of this silly game.
--------But it seems someone isn’t quite ready for this game to end.
Interrupting Jillian Berkley, another woman appears on stage at her side. You’ve seen her before, seen her whispering with the captain and the first mate and the pilot and you know she is involved in whatever the fuck is happening behind the scenes.
You’re not paranoid. Something is wrong. They are keeping secrets.
You almost assume she’s there to tell the event director something, whisper hurriedly in her ear about some last minute change. But, the blonde just stands there. Staring. And suddenly you’re not worried about Jillian’s hawk eyes anymore, because the new pair that bores into you is so much w o r s e.
They are empty. They are vacant.
They are the eyes of monster that your mother told you did not exist.
...........Oh, also she appears to be holding a fucking KNIFE so you’re really starting to wonder what’s about to play out before you.
As Burke is on stage about the announce the winner to the event, Carson Sawyer walks onto the stage and interrupts her. All eyes are on Carson, or, those who haven’t turned away from her disturbing gaze anyway.
This is weird, yeah....but Hell. It’s a Ghost Cruise, after-all. Probably just a publicity stunt, right? I mean.... could you picture the irony if someone died at a murder-mystery dinner?
This is the end of Episode 2. Episode 3 will begin momentarily.
“The King of Wands reminds you to lead your life with intent, vision and a long-term view.”

Trigger Warning: disease & death
Elliot grew up with his mother and father as an only child. His mother was sweet and caring, and his father was kind and gentle. Though, his mother had a rare nerve disease and died when Elliot was only fifteen years old. While she was weeks away from dying and in the hospital, Elliot’s dad packed up and left, claiming that it was ‘too hard’ for him to deal with. He left Elliot at his aunt’s house, and the young boy had to watch his mother die and his father leave all in one month.
A few years after his mother’s death, when Elliot was eighteen years old, he was diagnosed with the same nerve disease his mother had. Devastated and scared, Elliot knew that his time was dwindling. As time goes on, the young boy can feel the disease progressing, and sometimes his ticks and twitches are difficult to mask or hide from others. The only person left that he kept close to him was his friend Greg, who he has yet to tell of his disease for fear of making his only real friend sad.
Elliot got himself a job as a server aboard the Queen Zenobia not long after his twentieth birthday. Elliot had been incredibly adamant about getting the job, since it was on his bucket list to go on a cruise, and he only had about five years left according to the medical professionals. Ever since he was diagnosed, Elliot’s had a problem with being overly impulsive much like the reversed King of Wands tarot card.

“You have been able to take the middle road, avoiding extremes and maintaining a great sense of calm in your life.”
Brendon Daniels is thirty-one years old and is a crew member aboard The Sapphire. He works as a nanny. Brendon is represented by the Temperance Tarot card.
Nothing was ever what it seemed with Brendon. Not with himself, nor with anyone around him… or at least, that’s what he made himself believe.
If his parents hadn’t spoke their mind about each other, he wouldn’t have had to attend a funeral and wish he wasn’t a child of a killer. If his friends had not told him that going around glaring at people was OK, he wouldn’t have had to deal with the whole school avoiding him like the plague.
Over the years, he learnt to see both sides of a situation and then voice what he thought was best. It might be ugly, it might be lies, but if it was what was good, it was what Brendon said. It kept him in check of himself and able to step away from a situation to come up with a rational decision.
He moved out of his small hometown for college and finally had the chance to start afresh, in a place where people would not look at him with eyes tainted by his past. He managed to make friends for the first time in his life and his glib tongue got him the right attention with the right company.
Despite being busy with his studies, crashing late night parties and being surrounded by people, Brendon would take time off every weekend to babysit. It wasn’t for the money, but because he liked being around children. They were like the part of him he wished e could be, but couldn’t. They could speak their mind. Of course, no one at school knew about this part of him and he preferred to keep it that way.
Out of college, he decided to put his way with words to good use and became a salesperson. An ordinary vacuum would be the most ingenious, most advanced household appliance if it was Brendon selling it. But his love for children never died, and he continued to work part time with daycares and nurseries.
One of his loyal customers told him about an opening aboard The Sapphire and he thought that having a change in scenery would be a good idea. He’s pretty skeptical about the ghost hunting jazz mostly because he worries for the children he takes care of.
He’s a huge fan of wine and likes wine-flavoured anything.
Brendon’s really good with his tongue (in all meanings of that claim).
He argues with himself alot (sometimes out loud when he thinks no one is looking)
He’s the kind of guy who will have children jumping into his lap to talk to him and play with him and despite keeping calm and cool, he actually really likes it
Connections
Carson Sawyer - friends with benefits
Remy Ruiz - college buddies
Holly Roberts - protective over
Brendon Daniels is portrayed by Chris Pratt and is taken.
Just so everyone is aware, we have decided to extend the event until Sunday evening, though it may be extended slightly depending on how quickly everyone dies. Once we have the close of the event, we will choose the killer so the official deadline to submit your name for this will be Sunday, 1 pm EST. If your name isn’t in by then, then you will not be in the running for becoming the killer this season.
Who determines whether or not a flag is removed successfully, the killer, or the victim?
In character, Burke or Carson would decide. However, out of character, we are going to leave it up to the players in the hopes that they can come to a logical and peaceful decision. If for some reason they can’t, then they (or us if we are asked to step in) will need to use a random generator like chatzy to decide on the outcome.
We want this to be a civil event, but a fun one so think logically about your character and if they’d notice someone reaching for their flag. Perhaps they’re easily distracted or don’t really care. And if you’re the killer, think about if your character is sly enough to get away with it, or is more likely to trip over them while grabbing for the flag.
7 PM. SATURDAY. ATLANTIC OCEAN. OPEN WATER.
EPISODE 2: PLOT DROP ONE.
Well....are you ready for things to get interesting?
That’s what you’re waiting for, isn’t it? It’s okay--you don’t have to hide it from me.
I understand.
Don’t worry, your need for spilled blood will soon be sated, I promise, but for now, try to enjoy the evening, won’t you? After-all, someone went through an awful lot of trouble to plan all this. They’re keeping secrets, from you, from everyone. You know it. Something is wrong. Be wary.
Drink. Mingle. Smile through those gritted teeth.
The banquette hall has been reverted to it’s original purpose, beautifully decorated and ready to hold all the ships’ passengers for a fine meal and the night’s entertainment. Jillian Burkley, the event coordinator, has pulled all the stops to put together this little Murder Mystery game. Passengers and crew alike are dressed to the nine’s, wearing beautiful dresses and suits, ready to mingle the night away.
Word to the wise--make sure you play by her rules.
She doesn’t tolerate c h e a t e r s.
In game it is Saturday night, and this event will last three IN CHARACTER hours, in reality this event will run from Monday-Thursday.
Please look under the read-more for a lengthy post about how this event will play out.
Okay so here’s a little more information & some rules for this game.
It’s a combination of a murder mystery party (like Clue) & Assassin. Each character that is fully or partially participating will have on a black belt with a flag attached (think capture the flag from elementary school). They will all be given an envelope that has their secret role in it; they ARE NOT permitted to tell anyone their role (this does not include their alias or random facts). As such, you as players should not reveal your role to other players until it is revealed on the dash. Please don’t use any information revealed on the dash to other players to help your character to ‘win’ the game.
In the envelope, your character will receive:
their alias (on a Hello, my name is ______ sticker). They need to wear this for the entire event.
their role (either killer, detective or hint-giver).
and random facts either about themselves (killers & detectives) or about the killer (hint-givers). With every conversation you have, you need to reveal one fact about yourself; work it into the conversation somehow.
The roles are as follows:
Killer - these were chosen randomly using chatzy. Each killer will have a small list of people that they need to kill. We would like for the killer to attempt to initiate a conversation with the person (reply to their starter if they have one or something along those lines). Killers have to bring up one of their three secrets in EACH conversation. If you talk to the same character for more than five minutes, you must reveal another secret to them. This can be done as sneakily, or as obvious, as your character can make it. Please let the person know before you grab their flag though so nothing is godmodded. If the person is stealthy, they should be able to grab the flag without the victim knowing. The killer with the most kills wins.
Detective - detectives are talking to the hint givers and trying to figure out who the killer is by taking the hits and putting it together. Detectives have to bring up one of their three secrets in EACH conversation. If you talk to the same character for more than five minutes, you must reveal another secret to them. This can be done as sneakily, or as obvious, as your character can make it. At the end of the night, any detectives still alive will write down who they think the killers are and the one with the most correct guesses wins. The detectives are also give a special ability that they can use once in gameplay. Please clue in the person you’re going to use it on before you use it as it could be considered godmodding if you don’t.
Hint givers - each hint giver is given one clue about the killer to reveal to participants. Hint givers have to bring up their clue in EACH conversation. This can be done as sneakily, or as obvious, as your character can make it. However, some of these clues can apply to other characters as well. The hint givers are also potential victims; once they have died, they can no longer give out their hint.
Gameplay Rules
The killer has to try to grab their victim’s (and only their victim) flag from the belt. If the victim is able to speak the killer’s alias before the killer gets the flag off of the belt, then the victim is safe and can warn others (though not everyone may believe them). The killer can try again to get the belt after 10 minutes (no stalking room to room). If the killer gets it off before the victim is able to realize it, the victim is dead and cannot tell anyone who the killer is.
The goal is to talk to people and determine who the killers are without being killed so your character will need to speak to as many people as possible and get as many random facts and secrets as they can. PLEASE be aware of what your character logically would know and not know about other characters and their roles. We don’t want anyone assuming facts or godmodding during this event, even accidentally.
Everyone is free to enjoy the night as they wish. There will be a buffet table, music, dancing, and random door prizes throughout the evening.
Have fun and try not to die!
We know this may seem confusing, so please feel free to ask us to clarify ANYTHING via ask, skype, or any other means of contact!!
