i know you're all about plants, but do you have a favorite animal here in the human realm?
...Would it be too obvious and conceited if i said foxes? 😅 It may be hard to believe, but they're the animal I have the easiest time connecting to. Not to mention that they're so cute, and quite intelligent as well- haha, I definitely sound conceited now, don't I? 🤭 Foxes can easily tell I'm somehow related to them (even if most aren't quite sure how), so they often come flocking to me when I'm near, wanting to play and get pets. I usually try bringing some inarizushi whenever I'm going somewhere I know some foxes will be around- though I won't give it all away, I love the stuff too!
I also enjoy getting things designed after foxes- decorations, trinkets, clothing, anything, really! I have fun wearing kitsune masks during festivals too, haha. Hiei always smiles and rolls his eyes at me when he sees these things, but I can't help it! Surrounding myself with items that're so on the nose while still going under most other people's radar is just too amusing for me! 🤭
With how much foxes love me- plus how fond I am of them- and inarizushi being one of my favorite treats, my mother has joked that I "must have been a fox in a past life"... It's honestly a little scary how accurate her jokes can be sometimes. I suppose it's true what they say about mothers' intuitions- but in my mother's case, it's more precise than even she realizes. 😅
Hm, but aside from the obvious choice... I suppose my next favorite animal would be cats? As I've stated previously, I have a particular fondness for them since I relate them to Hiei. ♡ Honestly, he has enough feline characteristics that I almost wonder if his father was some sort of cat demon, haha. And of course, I adore Eikichi as well! She's become quite the adorable, plump little cat, and still as sweet and playful as she's always been. Plus, it's quite fascinating how much variety there is amongst the species- and funny how no matter how small, big, domestic, or wild they are, they still are drawn to a lot of the same things, like cardboard boxes, haha! I wonder if I got a box big enough, I'd come home to Hiei in it someday. 😂
Ah, I do have a bit of a soft spot for bats as well, as they remind me of Kuronue. He was the partner I had become closest to during my time as a full demon. Though, it's more of a bittersweet feeling seeing those animals. After all, it's hard not to miss people you've cared for in the past, even after so much time has gone by.
I quite like rabbits as well, though... for completely different reasons. 🤭 The ones in the Ningenkai may often be smaller than their counterparts in the Makai, but they taste quite better. Safer to consume, too, as most Ningenkai animals are. It makes me wonder how rats of this world compare to the kinds in the Makai as well. They're more taboo to eat here though, and a bit on the small side for me to care about hunting one myself, so I haven't bothered trying any yet. Maybe one day... It'd be amusing to try some rat meat in front of Kuwabara, at least. 🤭 It already freaks him out that I'd eat something as cute as rabbits, haha. It's just a normal diet for a fox like myself, though.
If you don't have tattoos, and had to get one, what would you get tattooed on you? Is getting tattooed a big deal to you? If you are tattooed, do you regret any?
Personally a tattoo wouldn't be a big deal for me at all, but considering the stigma around them in Japan, it'd be simpler to do without getting one for now. I already can't go to public onsens and beaches with Hiei due to the dragon's mark- unless he uses his jagan to keep nearby people from noticing it, which defeats the purpose of me taking him to such places to relax if he has to constantly be on alert and influencing the minds of those nearby. :(
Then again, since I can't bring Hiei to public places like that and I don't have any desire to go on my own, I suppose I could get a tattoo somewhere that's easy to cover up. My family is already aware of Hiei's "tattoo," so it's not another thing I'd have to hide from them, at least.
Actually... getting a tattoo on my Youko form is another possibility. There'd be no need to hide anything as it's not like the ink could transfer between my forms, and the Makai certainly has no issues with tattoos. I've always found it as a nice art form, though I had never gotten one before. I held no alliance that'd require one, nor had a particular attachment to any sort of symbolism. Some groups of demons use tattoos to mark their status amongst their ranks- the larger and more elaborate, the higher their placing in the hierarchy. I figured it'd be redundant to have anything like that when I led my own groups of thieves, though. Many could already recognize me simply from the shine of my silver hair, and instantly know what sort of trouble they were in.
If I were to get any tattoos though, it'd absolutely be something related to my loved ones. There'd be no way that I'd get a tattoo without having at least one to represent my relationship with Hiei. As for what exactly it would be... hm, perhaps something with our motifs, like my rose whip and his dragon in the shape of a heart~ ♡ Oh, a rose whip design that wraps around my arm akin to the dragon's mark would be fun too. I'd absolutely get one for my mother as well... I think sakura imagery would be rather fitting, though bittersweet, considering they represent not only rebirth, but the fleeting nature of human lives... Having something permanent upon my own body to remember her by for centuries to come would be lovely.
Though I had no interest before to get tattoos representing my alliances, I think now that I have such close companions, it'd be quite nice to have some representing my best friends. Hm, matching tattoos would be fun, though I'm unsure if my friends would be up for that idea. I doubt Kuwabara would want one since it could affect his ability to get a job once he's out of college. Yusuke on the other hand I don't think would care, but I have a feeling Keiko would have something else to say on the matter. 😅 I can't quite say for certain about the rest of my friends, but it doesn’t really matter if it's not a viable option for some of us already.
...Honestly, I never thought much about getting tattoos before, but after considering what I'd get if I were to get any... I must say I'm kind of tempted now. 😂 Just the idea of having art on my body to represent those I love forever... It makes me feel warm inside to think about. 😊 Perhaps I should give this some serious thought...
What's your most controversial opinion? Would you state it publicly? What's the most controversial opinion that you would publicly support, if it's different?
Well, my most controversial opinion amongst my best friends appears to be that if Hiei was an animal, he'd be a cat. 🤭 Even my mother has made the comparison without me mentioning it to her beforehand, haha! But both Hiei and Kuwabara completely deny there being any resemblance whatsoever (and Botan says he's "too scary" to be a cat)- but they're not the one to have found Hiei taking a sun nap by the back door, with Eikichi doing the same curled up right on his stomach! My, it was so adorable. ♡ Ah, though Yusuke at least agrees with me about Hiei being a cat- he even bought a cat-ear headband as a joke gift for Hiei one year! 😂 I managed to get him to allow me to take pics of him wearing it, though he's (rather adorably) grumpy through all of them. 🤭
Kuwabara also disagrees that he is much more like a dog than a cat, but the similarities are rather striking to me. Incredibly loyal, protective... easily excitable, and loud. 😂 Not to mention how he's like a lovesick puppy around Yukina.
Haha, but to answer you more seriously, I suppose whichever opinions of mine that'd be considered the most controversial would greatly differ upon worlds. I'd say my acceptance of humans and being content living amongst them would undoubtedly be the top contender in the Makai, even if it seems there's been a recent slow shift towards a more neutral mindset on humans from Yusuke's influence.
When it comes to the Ningenkai however, it's harder to pin down what views of mine may be the most controversial, as my travels across this world have been quite limited- especially in comparison to the vast amount of exploration I've done in the Makai to hunt down treasure. As such, my experience with human customs and ideologies have been restricted to very few regions- though I would like to change that someday and enjoy more of what the Ningenkai has to offer, especially with my friends and family by my side. And additionally, I don't often have much meaningful contact with humans aside from my loved ones, so I'm not well versed in what views are disputed more than others.
Though, one thing I've never understood about human culture is the often rigid structures and divisions around things like gender and relationships. It's quite stark in contrast with how things are in the Makai, but I suppose it's harder for pointless restrictions like that to form there when there's such a large biological variety among demons. Though it's not like the Makai is without its prejudices, but things like someone's identity, body modifications, choices for mates, and the like aren't really things anyone cares about... Well, body modifications that can aid in battle and boost one's power are more controversial (many view that as cheap grabs for power and is only for the weak and unskilled, while others are indifferent and view it much like using any ordinary weapon), but demons won't bat an eye at ones along the lines of alterations of bodily functions or aesthetic changes.
Though it seems these restrictions have been gradually easing over the recent decades in the Ningenkai, so I'm unsure if this would technically be my most controversial stance. But it's clearly still a prevalent issue with much contention in this world, seeing as I still deal with idiots from time to time who take issue with my relationship with Hiei, and- kind of amusingly- those who can't seem to agree on assuming I'm "a woman trying to be a man" or "a man trying to be a woman." Attempting to misgender me is quite futile when I consider myself a mix anyways.
What are your feelings on cheating in relationships? Have you ever done it, has anyone ever cheated on you?
(Sorry if this is personal!)
I think it's terrible to betray your partner by disregarding their trust and breaking the rules of your relationship. If someone desires to have something more open, then they should simply communicate that with their partner. If the other is not okay with that, then it'd be up for them to decide if it's a dealbreaker or if they can manage their desires and stay faithful.
Of course however, if there's something more precarious going on- like being stuck in an unhealthy relationship that you don't feel you can safely escape from, as an example- I don't think cheating then is anything to hold against someone. Everyone needs another to find comfort and safety in, and if they can't receive that from their partner, I don't fault them for trying to find it elsewhere until they can properly leave them.
As for me, well... It's hard to cheat or be cheated on if you've never been in any exclusive relationships until now. Actually, when I told my friends of my past habits, Yusuke was shocked that I "used to be a slut," which isn't an incorrect assessment by any means. 😅 I had no interest in tying myself down to anyone, nor did I experience any romantic attraction back then, so I just slept around a lot. Which... I did still end up leaving a trail broken hearts in my wake, as many had desired my heart and not just my body. At the time, I quite enjoyed that my heart was a sort of "treasure" that many wanted but couldn't steal from me. Admittedly, I have led a few people on by pretending they ever had a chance at it... I had a tendency to manipulate people then toss them aside when I didn't have any more use of them... 😓 I may not be proud of a lot of my past actions, but I suppose at the very least I can say I never cheated on anyone. Even back then I never understood why anyone would do such a thing if they've decided to take a mate.
But now, as you all know, my heart did finally end up getting stolen by my love, Hiei. He means everything to me, so I have no desire to do anything to jeopardize our relationship, cheating or otherwise. I could never do anything to hurt him like that, and I wouldn't be able to handle losing him. Honestly, I'm entirely against the idea of ever even having an open relationship with Hiei. I'm no longer interested in being shared, and I'm certainly not interested in sharing him. I'm... quite possessive over him, to say the least. 😅 Though, Hiei is definitely just as possessive as I am. ♡
I would like to say that I'd be able to handle it maturely if he ever did cheat, but in all honesty... even though I could never bring myself to harm Hiei no matter how broken up I'd be inside, I would undoubtedly cause quite a bit of bloodshed... I don't worry this would ever happen though, I trust Hiei and I know how loyal he is to anyone important to him- no matter how tsundere he can be about it. 😂 Plus, we've both made it very clear we're completely devoted to each other and have no interest in anyone else. ♡
Actually... I sincerely hope one day Hiei and I may become soulmates- ah, which means something different in the Makai than what you all are used to, I'm sure. Humans tend to define soulmates as something innate, where people are meant to meet and be together. I've said before I don't particularly believe in fated things such as this- though if it is real, I wouldn't doubt that Hiei's my soulmate in that sense. For demons however, soulmate means, quite literally, a mate you share your soul with. You tie your souls together, merging your energies and bounding you together in both life and death. It's the ultimate form of intimacy you could ever share with another, and having that sort of closeness with Hiei sounds absolutely heavenly. ♡
I'm not entirely sure if he would be into binding himself to another to that extent though... And it would be quite a huge leap to take at this point in our relationship anyways, we haven't even been together for a full decade yet. Perhaps it's unwise for me to already be yearning to be soulmated, but I can't help it... I truly adore Hiei with my whole heart, I'll absolutely spend eternity with him if I can. ♡ I just worry it may unnerve him if I bring this up too soon... So I sincerely hope he'll be open to the idea when I propose it to him in the future.
And again, it's fine to ask personal questions. It's honestly kind of amusing how curious people are about my life, haha!
you should rotate your tails really fast and join the cast of sonic the hedgehog
Haha! That would be quite a feat if I could get myself to fly like that as well! Alas, I am unfortunately bound to the logic and physics of this world, so rotating my tails would simply get them twisted around each other. I do bet it would be fun to interact with that colorful cast of characters though! I can only imagine the sort of chaos my friends and I would end up in if we somehow got transported to that universe. 😂
Is there anything in particular you like to get up to when you're in your fox form? Also, does being in fox form change how you think or process thoughts, or do you pretty much have the same "brain" and thought process you do when in human/demon form?
Actually, one of my favorite things to do as a spirit fox is cuddling with Hiei- though, that really applies regardless of my appreance, hehe. My various forms have different perks for that, and my fox body has the bonus of being the sole form in which I'm smaller than him. We both usually prefer me being the big spoon- and our usual size difference works well with that- but sometimes it's nice to switch, and being in my fox form for that on the occasion has a nice unique touch... It's extremely comforting to just be completely eveloped in his embrace. ☺️ The only downside is that it can be easier to overheat if he isn't paying attention to moderating his temperature... He's usually good with keeping it lowered though, especially when we're cuddling on warmer days.
I also really love laying on Hiei's lap or chest when we're relaxing- and once I started doing that, it didn't take long for him to discover my favorite spots to be scratched. (Just a little fun fact, it's on and behind my ears, right above my tails, and under my chin. I'm certainly not giving this tip to convince people to give me more pets in my favorite spots, but if any of you ever encounter a silver fox that doesn't seem of this world, then... ;) My underside and tails are off limits for strangers though, sorry!) I often hitch a ride on Hiei's shoulders and curl my tails around his neck as well- which he tends to joke about me being spoiled for not even walking around on my own, haha. I know he loves me snuggling up on him in that fashion though. :3
Aside from that, I've always enjoyed doing more mischievous activities, and that certainly hasn't changed about me, haha. Though, I do it in significantly less destructive ways than I used to. Sometimes I will pull simple pranks on locals- like taking and hiding their things, or shrieking nearby to startle them. The latter is especially fun to do around "haunted" locations people often get dared to go to (usually they're spots that simply have an atmosphere people find unsettling, the actual spirit activity is typically low to none). I've given plenty of people I went to school with quite a fright from doing that. 🤭 And there's also been a couple times I, ah... left a little "present" at the doorstep of some rather unpleasant classmates and coworkers. 😅
I've also given Kuwabara a good scare on a few instances by sneaking up and pouncing on him, haha! Though I accidentally freaked out little Eikichi as well one of those times. I'm glad she forgave me rather quickly- she came up to rub her head on me as soon as she recognized who I was! I actually play with her in my fox form on occasion (that is, once I assured Kuwabara again that I had no interest in eating her 😅). I'm not entirely sure if she understands that all of my forms are one individual, but she seems to be able to tell that my scents are similar enough, as she trusted me in both my Youko and spirit fox forms immediately once she sniffed them for the first time.
As for my mental capabilities in that form, I was originally much like your typical mortal fox. My brain was much more primitive, focused mostly on play when I was young, then survival when my spirit fox family and I went our separate ways. Though, It's hard to recall precisely how my thought process was like back then, it's been so long... My memories of my earliest years are quite hazy- I suppose that's a result of both time and a once-simple mind. I gained more intelligence as my youki grew, however. By the end of my first century when I obtained the ability to shift to my demon form, I'd say I was certainly wiser than many other demons on the lower end of energy classes. Or perhaps that's just my ego talking? 🤭 I'll admit I've had quite a big head for much of my life, haha. I got into thieving for fun early on, and had many successful heists even back when I still only had my fox form, and with much less expertise in controlling plants (albeit they were much less complex or risky thefts than ones I've done much later on, but I was quite proud of myself nonetheless).
But to get back on topic- my mind is always the same whenever I shift forms, as spirit foxes gain more complex thought long before they become proper demons. The only exception has been my shifts induced by the Idunn Box and Fruit of the Previous Life potion, as they were specifically reversions rather than ordinary form changes. My memories of my human life felt like they were locked away far out of my reach, where I could remember only the vaguest details- like my current goals, why I was at the Dark Tournament, and somewhat of who the people were on my team. It was... jarring, to put it very mildly. After the first time, both my body and brain went through such a shock that I struggled keeping touch with reality for a while afterward... I'm so grateful for Hiei being patient and supporting me through that once we had some time alone. He may not have been sure of what to do, but even just his presence and kindess was a major help to getting me grounded again.
Otherwise, the only mental alterations I experience through shifting forms are along the lines of some urges becoming stronger. It's likely due to the familiarity of my original bodies causing my impulses to be more in line with my past tendencies. They're nothing that can't be controlled, of course, but it can sometimes make me act a little bit different if I don't keep myself in check- whether I do so accidentally or purposefully. It is nice to let myself go on the occasion and simply indulge in my fox instincts. I'll even go all out and spend a good portion of a day acting like a little kit again. 🤭 Hiei seems to find those times quite amusing, haha. Actually, there's been a few times where I've gotten so lost in enjoying pets from him that I started happily biting on him without realizing it. 😅 Though, it's not like biting him is unusual in any of my forms, but I'm typically more conscious of when I initiate it... Most of the time. I suppose pleasure in multiple forms can make me bite Hiei without thinking, hehe!
22A. Do you want children with your partner? Why or why not?
I apologize if this is too personal of a question!
Oh, haha, most certainly not. 😅 I suppose that's one of the few things that's stayed consistent through my life. I've always found the idea of having a child unappealing, and the thought of pregnancy is particularly perturbing to me. It still makes me uncomfortable to think about, even though it's not a possibility for me ever since I sought out a sex change early on in my life.
Perhaps I'm simply too selfish to want to devote myself to raising a whole other being... I'd much rather focus my attention at home solely on Hiei. It's honestly blissful having so much alone time with him. ♡ I just hope my choice to not have children won't disappoint my mother. 😥 I know that she looks forward to grandkids someday. Perhaps Kokoda will deliver on that front at some point... Though I'm not sure what his plans may be for that, or if he even has any thoughts on it yet. Hm, actually... My mother has taken such a shining to my best friends, I bet she'll adopt any of their future kids as her own grandchildren, haha.
I know Keiko and Yusuke are planning to have kids. They're not really actively trying for it though. They've said they're not in any sort of rush, just going to "let it happen when it happens." Yukina and Kuwabara have expressed their desire for children as well- hoping for twins, actually-but Yukina isn't quite ready for that yet.
In all honesty... I am kind of excited for the day those two have kids. Ah, I hope that doesn't sound like I don't care about Yusuke and Keiko also having kids though! That's far from the truth! I just have a lot of anticipation for the prospect of Hiei becoming an uncle... He has expressed our shared aversion to the thought of having kids- or for him, being around them in general, haha- but I just know that he'd be a wonderful uncle. If he allows himself to be one, that is... I hope by then he'll have finally told Yukina of their relation... I already consider my best friends like they're my own kin, and I'd love for Hiei to be able to experience that joy with his sister, especially once their family starts growing. Really, the thought of Hiei cradling his niece or nephew really just warms my heart. And I know deep down how much he would desire to be a part of their life, and desires the same with his sister as well...
Ah, but regardless of how the future will unfold, it makes me really happy that our little family will be expanding soon. 😊 Even if I don't want to raise children myself, I'll be more than happy to be an uncle to them. Seems Botan and Shizuru will be in the same position, they're not interested in having kids either. Though, it likely wouldn't be very viable for them anyways, as Botan needs to be able to leave at a moments notice for her job as a reaper.
Also no worries! I don't mind questions like this at all. :)
Building on your response to the ask abt demon gods: are any of the gods of human religions (Yahweh, Shiva, Ahura Mazda, etc.) actually just powerful demons who humans became somehow aware of and mistook for gods? Or even were actual ascended gods? I'd be interested to know how many of those were "real" in some capacity vs. just being human inventions.
I'm afraid I won't be able to give you a very definitive answer- apologies for that! I just can't really say for certain on most since many have existed for longer than even I have. Plus, I haven't personally met a ton, so I can't confirm upon many of their existences or which ones are of demon origins.
I can say though that most of the demons mistaken for gods or have ascended to godhood are more likely among eastern countries, as I've stated before that the main gateways between the worlds are centered in and around Japan. I'm sure some have ventured out to other areas though- especially the more competitive and power-hungry ones looking for more people that'll worship only them. Honestly... the more a god enforces monotheism, the more I suspect they're from the Makai. That's only a theory though, I haven't done any sort of research to back that claim. It's simply a gut feeling I have due to the mannerisms high class demons tend to have.
I believe that Inari might have been a Youko who ascended to godhood, but I haven't discovered confirmation of that yet. Their energy feels like it might be a bit demonic... but it's honestly hard to tell because the energy of gods often feel so... warped. That's the best way I cant think to describe it, because it gives off such a strange sensation. Perhaps it simply feels so distorted because the power is too intense for non-gods to properly comprehend... Hn, and I've tried asking Inari about their origins before, but they haven't given me an answer yet. They seem to enjoy being secretive with me, and tend to laugh when I ask questions. 😅 I suppose I deserve that, I never was very respectful when they've helped me in the past.
On the other hand, King Yama I'm quite certain was never a demon, considering his... very apparent distaste towards all demons. I'm unsure if the Hindu idea of his origin is entirely correct, but I wouldn't be surprised if he truly was once a human that ascended to godhood in his afterlife. It'd easily explain his favoritism.
For demons who are simply playing god in the Ningenkai, however... I hear they tend to be targeted by those who have actually ascended, especially if they're not S class yet. It's potentially because those gods find it insulting for humans to consider them on the same level as the demons, even though they were once demon as well. Or, perhaps they simply want less competition, and demons are easier to take out than fellow gods. I can't say for sure as I'm fairly apathetic to the doings of gods. I'm only attempting connecting with Inari to try making amends for some of my past actions. Other than that, I stay out of the business of gods when possible.

I know this may sound odd but I kinda wanna draw you as Rouge the bat you would look good with a lovecore aesthetic.
Haha, I don't think thats odd at all. In fact, I'm honored that you want to create art of me! Plus, Rouge is one of my favorite characters- I mean, she's a cunning thief with a broody partner, how could I not be drawn to that? Haha.
And I do enjoy that sort of aesthetic as well. I've certainly gotten a soft spot for lovey-dovey things ever since I grew a crush on Hiei. ♡ It's nice seeing so much of it everywhere when Valentine's Day comes around. I may not have been fond of the fawning I dealt with on that day during school, but I always enjoyed seeing the surplus of flowers (especially roses) and my favorite colors- pink and red! The sweets are definitely a bonus too. Hiei certainly likes that aspect of it, hehe. A lot of the gifts I received at school I shared with him. :)
Anyways- if you do draw this, I would love to see!
7A. Would you cannibalise a dead body in a life-or-death scenario? Does your answer change depending on whether they're a loved one or not? (I guess eating humans wouldn’t really count as cannibalism.) Instead for my other question: Can certain demons survive without the consumption of humans? I know raizen died because he didn’t consume humans after a long period of time.
Well, it's actually not uncommon for demons to eat other demons. I've partaken in that on the occasion, even without my life being on the line. I wouldn't eat just any demon, however. Certain ones are definitely more edible than others. Attempting to consume a demon like Genbu I doubt would be possible for me. And one would need to watch out for those that'd be dangerous to eat, like ones with poison running through their veins.
If it came to a loved one's body, however... There's simply no way I could eat them. Not in a million years, not even if I'd end up with a fate worse than death. Seeing their body being mutilated in such a way- causing that sort of damage to their figure- I wouldn't be able to stomach it. I want the last time I see the people I care about to not be such a gruesome sight, if possible...
Though... would me eating a human count as cannibalism now? I don't see why it wouldn't be. Even if I wasn't originally a human, the human anatomy of this form is as much a part of me as my Youko or spirit fox forms. I'm as much human as I am demon, neither of these parts can be separated from me. Either way though, I doubt the Reikai would be pleased with me consuming the body of a human, even if I didn't cause their death... But I'm unsure if it's something they'd arrest over- I'm not even sure if there's precedent for that to begin with. Demons eating humans typically are the reason why they're dead, after all.
Also, at the very base of it all, no demon naturally needs to consume humans to survive. Some end up like that, however, because if they derive most of their diet from humans for a long period, it eventually becomes a necessity. It's desirable for many though, as the consumption of humans causes any reiki they have to convert and meld into the demon's youki, boosting their strength proportional to the amount of reiki. As such, strong psychics are riskier to target, but have a higher "reward" because of how much reiki they have. The same does occur when eating other demons, but the boost in strength isnt as significant- my guess would be that reiki is perhaps more "condensed" in a way? But regardless- after so long, demons become addicted to the different form of energy, and if suddenly cut off or they dont get as much reiki as they used to, their youki becomes desperate to consume and will begin to slowly eat away at their life energy. I may not have met Raizen, but from what I've heard, this seems to be the fate that befell him.
This is partially why cultivated humans exist, it's a minor supplement of human for those who can't access real ones at some point, containing very trace amounts of reiki within them. However, demons can only temporarily sustain themselves on that, and it doesn't help at all if they're used to a much more significant feasting on humans.
Personally, I've only eaten humans a couple times just to try it, as I didn't want to become dependent on eating them. And god am I ever glad that I made that decision. 😅 I don't know how I would have managed eating humans while keeping up my facade as a normal person, especially when I had no ability to escape back to the Makai if things got dire... Trying to keep that secret not only from my mother, but also from the Ningenkai police and the Reikai would have been nothing short of hell.
Actually, Yusuke had asked me at one point if I've ate humans before, which I jokingly answered (but said very matter-of-factly) that I used to all the time. Kuwabara was certainly unnerved by that, haha, but Yusuke didn't seem the least bit disturbed... That boy is certainly full of surprises, I'll give him that. 😅 Since the joke didn't bother him, I just went ahead and told him the truth. Though, ah, I guess my wording accidentally psyched Kuwabara out for a moment, because he was quite relieved when I began to say I was just kidding, and was promptly freaked out again when I said I had only tried eating humans a few times, haha. Hiei had also told them that he's eaten humans before, but I know he was also just trying to freak them out. He admitted to me that he simply never cared to consume humans, and also thinks it's a cheap way to get stronger. But he never told that to Yusuke or Kuwabara, so don't tell them I revealed the truth. 🤭
Do different types of demons have different types of reproductive anatomy and/or reproductive abilities?? Like how the koorime are able to reproduce asexually.
Mhm, while the most common type of reproductive anatomy amongst demons aren't much or at all different from humans- thus why some can mate with them- there's even more range to them than there is amongst all of the creatures in the Ningenkai. Some moreso resemble the fish or insects of this world, or even enact the process of fission like starfish. There's actually a few types of demons that reproduce more like plants do as well, who can self-"pollinate" if they so choose. Additionally, there's also the case of what Yomi has done with his son, Shura- taking the human phrase of, ah, "test tube baby" to a more... extreme and literal level. 😅
I'm not the most familiar with the specifics of it since it's quite rare to encounter these types of demons, but ones that communicate solely through telepathy are able to impregnate one another through that ability... I assume it might be something to do with activating the release of specific chemicals that forms the fetus. And they don't appear to create cloned offsprings, so perhaps the dna is somehow altered in their mind link... Ah, but keep in mind, this is all speculation, really.
There's also a ritual that's possible for any demons to do for creating a child together (I'm unsure if humans are capable of it, it's potentially incompatible with reiki). However, it's not commonly done because depleting so much of your youki for an extended period can easily be fatal in the Makai. You see, to complete this process two or more demons have to collect pieces of themselves that carry enough of their dna (claws, hairs, skin, and the like), and center their youki to try materializing the fetus and a sort of "egg" out of the items. It's easier for those who already excel in object manifestation, but for those who don't specialize in that, it can take them some time to do it successfully- and each attempt drains their energy. After that, more youki has to be centered on it to summon a soul so it won't be stillborn, and then it has to be continuously fed more youki over time to help the fetus develop.
I've also questioned Yukina about the specifics of Koorime reproduction before. Honestly, sometimes I worry I'm burdening her with too many queries about the race and how life was on Hyouga... 😅 I'm just so curious since there's so little known about them on the outside. She reassures me she doesn't mind and is happy to share about her home, I just hope she truly means that... She's quite patient and indulgent, after all.
Koorime actually do something a bit similar to the process I described above- specifically with creating a fetus through youki- though they're unique in that they can create the fetus solo. They also don't require to continuously feed it youki, as it's receiving nutrients within them like a typical pregnancy. However, it seems they can only do this once a century. And when the time comes, apparently it's expected of them to impregnate themselves- if they can't or won't, the elders will focus their own youki into the other Koorime's body to form the fetus. If that still doesn't work... I guess those unable to become pregnant tend to be looked down upon- not necessarily mistreated per se, but Yukina said she certainly noticed a more distant and judgemental air from some- particularly the elders- around those who are infertile. Apparently the woman who raised her, Rui, was one of those few. I suppose even for demons fit for the harsh elements of Hyouga, there's still regimens needed to keep the race alive, but to rely on something like forced impregnation... Even if pregnancy hasn't been a possibility for me since very early on in my life, that thought still makes my skin crawl.
Hello! I have a couple of questions for you!
1. Do you know any fire demons (other than hiei)?
2. Have you and/or hiei researched them? Do they have their own language/lexicon like the koorime do? Are they as extremely isolated as the koorime?
3. Do you think the Jaou Ensatsu Kokuryuuha is a specific attack for the fire demons? Or can anybody use it?
Also do demons worship goods/deities like humans do or are there specific rituals for their worship? Like how humans have shrines for inari.
Sorry if this was a lot in one go.
Hello to you as well!
1. Hm, let's see... A fair number of the ones I've met are dead, since I encountered many of them in battle. Most I don't know much about, simply being low level demons biting off more than they could chew, hoping to challenge the King of Thieves and make off with some loot to boast about. There were a few noteworthy ones, though. Ones formidable enough to leave burns on me and some of my stronger weapons. Ugh, the amount of youki it takes to heal those plants...
But as for fire demons I actually knew rather than just fought- I had allied with a few over time, back when I led groups rather than stealing solo or with a partner. They were all quite skilled, though there was one that had tried to steal from me and take off... I'll just say they didn't succeed in that endeavor. A few others had perished during heists (particularly in ones that were led by Yomi without my permission...), but the rest very well could still be alive to this day, for all I know. I didn't keep contact with most allies of mine after disbanding groups.
More recently, well... there was Zeru, who's now dead as well. Then there's this Nekomata demon that attempted to prey on Kuwabara not too long ago, though their power isn't your typical fire, it's moreso flames they create out of souls they've consumed... Ah, but don't worry, the situation turned out fine! They're actually kind of an ally now, haha. Never before have I had so many enemies become friends or allies than during my time in the Ningenkai... It's quite strange, but not unpleasant.

2. Hiei has never cared to find out about anything regarding his lineage, aside from various techniques he can use in battle. I would give him some information about the race, but since he's disinterested, I've only told of a few tidbits on occasion- like how his habit of taking naps in the sun is likely due to being a fire demon (I also joked about it making him similar to cats, haha).
I've never researched them, though curiousity does give me the urge to do some searching specifically into who Hiei could be related to, but I respect his wishes to refrain from diving into that. What I do know about the race is details I've simply garnered over time. They're not isolationists, though there are some fire demons that are more secluded than others, particularly ones that live in volcanic regions. Those ones often have hardened bodies made of rock, scales, or the like that's resistant or immune to extreme heat and lava to survive. It's not the same as the Koorime, though, as some still venture out often, and there can also be other types of demons that live in those environments as well. It's not uncommon to encounter fire demons while traveling the Makai, while encountering a Koorime is practically unheard of.
I don't believe they have a specific language, but then again, there is quite a wide range of demon types under the general label of "fire demon." Much like animal demons dont have a general language, nor do all ice demons, but the specific Youko and Koorime races do. There very well could be a specific race of fire demon that has- or had- its own lexicon, but I have yet to encounter such.

3. As far as I'm aware, there hasn't been any precedent for an elemental dragon being used by someone with powers not of that element, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's impossible. If it can be done though, it likely needs extreme amounts of work and time put into training to be able to achieve such a feat, since it doesn't align with their energy type.
In the case of the Dragon of the Darkness Flame, I highly doubt it could be done- at least not without immediately being consumed by it. It's one of the most dangerous, if not the most dangerous of the dragons. Hiei's the only one known to have been able to master and tame it inside himself, so with unmatching energy complications added in, it'd only make an already nearly-impossible-to-control technique even more difficult.

4. It's not as common as with humans, but there is still quite a few demons who worship gods. Actually, many gods are demons who've grown so powerful that they've ascended to godhood. Those tend to be the main ones worshipped in the Makai, along with a few demons aiming for godhood and have built up enough of a following that's already started worshipping them- whether that be by choice or force. Honestly... at one point I did have a slight desire in becoming a god myself, but I soon realized I just have a worship kínk. 😅
I didn't have a lot of respect for gods and definitely didnt worship any in the past (even now I only respect some), so I've never engaged in any rituals, but I've certainly... witnessed a few in passing. Not all are gruesome, of course, but as you can probably guess, demons don't hold the same taboos about sacrificial rituals that humans do. It entirely depends on the god if they're done, though- some don't accept such acts, and will punish their followers if they perform them in their honor. I'm not the most familiar with all the different types of religious practices that demons do, but some do resemble those of humans- gatherings, shrines, offerings, praying, and so on. I believe some even do youki offerings, which just sounds parasitic if you ask me. I may not have been the kindest leader in the past, but at least I wasn't a leech leaving my followers weakened and dependent upon my protection.
🌹
Also it's no worries! I don't mind answering a bunch of questions- I do prefer questions separated so the posts don't get so long, but it's not a big deal. I just know some people tend to turn away from long walls of text, and well... I know I can get quite long-winded when it comes to divulging information (well sometimes, depending on the topic and recipient). Hiei's said that I just like to hear myself talk, which is amusing coming from him considering he's admitted to really enjoying my voice. 🤭
Hello again! I have another question for you today!
4.B. Who's the most important person in your life right now? Why? (If you had to choose one person)
Hello, it's nice to see you again. :)
Hm... that's... a tough question... I don't think I could possibly narrow it down to only one person, I have a lot of people now that are very important to me... I suppose the closest I could get to is two, with my mother and Hiei. To try to say either one is more important than the other just feels... wrong.
My mother has given me the chance at a new life, and has stuck with me through all the years I was cold and treated her as inferior... And her unconditional love has really inspired me to become a better person. She's just such a kind and compassionate woman... I can't help but try to model myself after her. It's wonderful spending time with her, being in her presence always brings me a sense of peace. I'm so thankful I get the privilege to be her son. 😊
And Hiei... He's honestly the love of my life. ♡ He showed up at the time I most needed someone I could be completely myself around, and he's stood by my side ever since, even after I almost abandoned him by using the Forlorn Hope... He's so loyal... And a lot sweeter than he wants others to believe, hehe. 🤭 He was especially so kind to me when I was distraught over my mother's illness, and started laying with me when I needed comfort. The way he loves never fails to warm me from the inside out, he really makes me the happiest I've ever been. ☺️
I've never been one to believe in something like fate, but if it does exist, I wouldn't be surprised if it was fated for me to have both my mother and Hiei in my life. I don't know what I could've done to be so blessed to love and be loved by them, but I'm going to work every day to ensure that I deserve them and to keep them by my side. ♡
What is your favorite show/movie/anime(or cartoon)? What is your favorite book series?
Hm... I'm not entirely sure what my favorites would be, to be honest... Perhaps My Hero Academia for the first question? I quite like the exploration into the gray areas of its society, like with vigilante villains and crooked heroes- along with how the system of heroes is flawed, and creates an environment that easily caters to those only aiming for fame and fortune. Personally, I think the Hero Killer arc is one of the most compelling in the series. Though, the Shie Hassaikai arc is quite fascinating as well. Overhaul's plan- while utterly horrible- always struck me as interesting because it feels so real, in the way of playing both sides for his own greed. Poor little Eri, though. :( I would give her a candied apple if I could.
For books, though... I really can't decide, I'm afraid. 😅 I hope my favorite genres will suffice? I adore fantasy, especially the deeper it gets with the worldbuilding and lore. I enjoy being able to get lost in another universe that feels as real as my own. Also, I know some disagree, but I quite like in-depth magic systems with specified rules. I think it's fun seeing the limits being tested, and how the restrictions can create issues on its own. Oh, and mystery is another favorite of mine. I often like to test myself to figure out the conclusion before its revealed. It makes the stories much more engaging when I'm trying to piece together all of the clues and solve it before the main character does. Plus, they usually have darker storylines and subject matters, which I tend to prefer. Though, I do enjoy more lighthearted stories as well! They're nice breaks to have in-between the heavier stuff.
92.A. Do you speak multiple languages? Which do you dream in? What language would you want to learn? Also does the makai have its own language or is it an amalgamation of many different human world languages?
I do indeed! For human languages, I know Japanese, English, and small amounts of Chinese and Korean. I learned English as a subject in school, but the rest I had mostly picked up before my time as a human.
You see, the most prominent gateways between the Makai and Ningenkai are in or near Japan, so there's significant mutual influences in culture and language in those areas. They're sort of like variants of each other, with some shared or similar words, but not entirely alike. The influences have lessened over time though, what with the Reikai imposing more barriers in recent centuries. I didn't get to cross to the Ningenkai as much as I used to then due to being a high class demon, and as such, some of the Japanese I knew when being born in this human body was... a little out of date. I had to pay attention to the words I used often, to not appear out of place in conversation... Apparently I've only been mildly successful though, as with that and my mannerisms, my mother has joked about me "having the soul of an old man" a few times. 😅
Ah, but to return to my earlier point- the farther from the gates in the Makai, the less resemblance you'll find to any human languages. Additionally, there's not many strictly-defined languages in the Makai- you'll find more of a gradual change in dialects as you travel across the lands. There is a few outliers, however. Many isolationist regions have developed their own lexicons from scratch (or for the most part, at least), or their separation has caused their language to develop over time to the point of being unrecognizable to the outside. From what I've learned from Yukina (and a bit from Hiei), Hyouga falls under the latter. Though, some more rebellious Koorime learn outside vocabulary enough to read books smuggled into the village- Yukina being one, having gotten some books and was taught to read them from the same Koorime who eventually told her of her brother.
There's also some groups that have exclusive languages to identify each other or to share secrets, and its seen as a betrayal worthy of death to teach any of it to outsiders, but that has mostly fallen out of practice. Youko used to have such a thing, which I rarely engaged in aside from learning information for some of my heists. I wasn't keen on sharing my own secrets, but I was certainly interested to gain any knowledge I could, particularly in relation to treasure. Honestly, that's likely why the language fell out eventually- there's not much sense of unity among us Youko anymore. Also, I've taught some of it to Hiei for the hell of it, haha. I would've done so even if it wasn't practically a dead language by now, I've never really cared to respect the rules of it.
Aside from that, there's some races of demons who have entirely different forms of communication, though it's extremely unlikely to cross paths with them. Demons that have such unusual biology where they dont even use speech like most others are typically found in more unusual areas deep in the Makai, or places that are simply uninhabitable to other forms of life.
As for what I dream in, it's usually a mix of the vernacular in the Makai and Japan, but more so the former. Since they're already related, they flow together easily.
And as of right now, I don't desire to learn more languages anytime soon, as I'm happy to simply spend my time where I live in Japan for now. Though, I would like to travel the Ningenkai at some point so I can experience more of what this world has to offer, so eventually I'll learn more of the different lexicons around the globe. There's not really any in particular I have in mind to start with, however. Perhaps I'll begin with Chinese, since I already know a moderate amount. I have been to China, but it's been much too long, and few too many times. The styles in clothing have particularly left an impact on me, though- it's inspired a lot of my designs for my tunics.
