Draco getting kisses on the cheek, much to his absolute dismay and embarrassment, from his hogwarts friends. Someone spends too much time in France and BAM cheek kisses and then it spirals bc they all must take advantage of embarrassing him
A long time coming, I know. Also entirely unedited. Enjoy! :)

When Luna came back from her extended trip to France, she had a little bit of a French accent. It was unclear if she was doing it intentionally but given that this was Luna it was probably more unintentional and because she had been speaking French for so long.
Maybe her father did, too, but Draco didn’t spend much time with him outside of the very special occasion.
The first thing Luna did on arriving to their regular get-together was greet Michael. That wasn’t odd. What was odd was that she did it by kissing him on both cheeks.
Michael didn’t seem surprised, which was a surprise in of itself.
“It’s customary in France,” Luna explained cheerfully to the others. “Isn’t it nice? Come here, Draco.”
Draco didn’t come there but he wasn’t given much of a choice in the matter when Luna also kissed both of his cheeks. Heat rushed into his cheeks. “It’s air kisses, Luna,” he said, clearing his throat. “Not an actual kiss.”
“That seems silly,” Luna said. “Why would you fake a kiss?” She bounced over to Ginny and kissed her cheeks as well. Ginny seemed delighted.
“It’s the custom,” Draco said. “A silly human thing.” He glanced at Michael as he said this, catching an amused smile at the phrase.
“Well, I can change it,” Luna declared. “Everyone could do with more kisses. Come here, Blaise.”
Blaise submitted to the kisses, resigned. Daphne was next, seeming only a little less resigned than Blaise.
“Is this going to be a thing now?” Justin asked, giving Luna a broad smile as he leaned down for his own cheek kisses.
“Yes,” was Luna’s firm statement.
As it turned out, it was also a thing on leaving. Luna grabbed Michael first. He laughed quietly, leaning in for Luna to kiss both his cheeks. “I saw you not that long ago, Luna.”
“It’s every time, Michael,” Luna said reproachfully. “I told you this.”
Michael gave her an indulgent smile. It was the one Draco saw most when Michael was around humans doing silly human things.
Draco’s arm was snagged next and she gave him another two kisses to the cheeks. He felt heat rush to his face again. “This isn’t the custom,” he muttered.
“I say it is so it is.” Luna patted his cheek, her fingers feeling cooler against the heated skin.
Maybe if Draco had made less of a fuss that day, it wouldn’t have led to what happened next.
The very next time he saw Ernie, his only warning that something was amiss was Ernie’s mischievous grin before Ernie grabbed hold of his shoulders and kissed his cheeks. “Hello, Draco!”
Draco stared at him, feeling far too hot for the spring morning. “What was that?” he demanded.
“A friendly hello, of course. We are friends, are we not?” Ernie also pulled Michael in, who thankfully seemed a little perplexed at this as well.
Later, when Ernie wasn’t paying attention, Draco asked Michael, "You're not in on this, are you?” His answer was a small head shake, which stopped any answers from that area.
Justin was the next person to do it a week or so later. Michael wasn’t even there that time, so it was just Draco at the mercy of Justin swooping in.
“What the - are you drunk?” Draco jerked backwards. “It’s not even noon yet!”
“Why do I need alcohol to say hello to a friend?” Justin asked, laughing. “Also, bye!” He swooped in for another set of kisses before running off like he was still a student in Hogwarts.
Twice wasn’t yet a pattern, but it was odd.
When Ginny did it during their next meet-up before Luna even showed up, Draco started to suspect a conspiracy. She was smirking a little too much for it to be wholly natural. Asking now would do nothing given how many people were here.
Thankfully she was the only one who did it there. Aside from Luna, of course.
Then it was Susan in the Ministry. Thankfully not in public, but it was still the Ministry. “What is this?” Draco demanded, flushed. “Why are you - why is everyone doing this?”
Susan gave him an amused look. “It’s not everyone, Draco. Not yet, anyway.”
Draco pointed at her. “So it is a plot!”
“Honestly, Draco, not everyone is out to get you.” Susan laughed at him, which was entirely expected. “In any case, I really did need to speak to you about this…”
When Hannah kissed his cheeks, she was sweeter about it, giving him a gentle smile. She kindly didn’t point out how red he turned. To be fair, none of the others had either.
“I’m going to figure out what all of you are plotting,” Draco said, pretending he had an itch on his face so he could cover one of his flaming cheeks.
“We’re not, silly,” Hannah said, laughing. “It’s good to see you. Tea later?”
“…Yes.” He only just managed to ward off the farewell kisses, though Hannah was laughing too hard to make a good go at it and she just ended up grabbing a hand and kissing the back of it before she ran off.
Were they all smoking something?
Neville was definitely not smoking something. He had too many dangerous things he handled at his work. But he also went in for the bloody cheek kisses, then gave Draco a cheeky grin.
The only ones who hadn’t yet were Blaise and Daphne, and Draco doubted they would. But he’d also doubted Ginny and Susan and look where he was now. Then there was Michael, but Draco was actually glad for that one because… Because.
“They’ve all been acting so oddly,” Draco complained later that evening as he walked through the door.
Michael looked up from his book. “Do you mind it?” he asked.
Draco’s first answer was a “yes,” but then he had to stop and think about it. It was… It was really embarrassing to get actual cheek kisses from all his friends. But it was also… It had been nice to get it even from Susan and Ginny.
There was a low humming sound from Michael. “They are your friends. It’s only natural for them to greet you.”
“It’s a bastardization of the actual custom.” Even as he said it, it lacked heat.
“Well, they’ve made it their own.” There was a rustle of feathers, and then Michael was standing in front of Draco. He leaned in to kiss first Draco’s left cheek, and then his right. “That is how you do it, yes?” His tone was neutral in the manner that suggested he knew exactly what he was doing.
Draco was probably not going to find out anytime soon what had possessed his friends, but that was fine.

Sidenote: I really do love the the way that Draco and Michael rephrase what they wanna say until the other understands. Like, their relationship isn't easy! They do have to figure out this whole communication thing. But they manage. And Michael finally understands why Pansys words upset Draco. Ugh. I love them.
Draco and co have had to mature and grow so quickly given…this. *gestures at Michael*
It’s not easy to communicate with someone who struggles with communicating emotional concepts because all he’s really done before was send vibes and have it be understood. Using actual language for it is something else.
We need interdimensional cellphones. Draco would be very embarrassed but the likelihood of him asking Loki about the sex wards is better than Michael talking to Gabriel about it.
Draco doesn’t even know sex wards are a thing. Draco is just trying to get Michael to relax.
The likelihood of Loki giving Draco an upfront answer and not a silly runaround is… it’s something.
Draco has no idea its even necessary because Michael isn't explaining anything!
Which, your honor, I love him. So much. Look at these disaster boys.
Ah yes Loki, notoriously unhelpful.
Actually I'm laughing my ass off, Michael did in fact need a version of the birds and bees talk. Intermediate Archangel Edition. They'll just have to figure it out, Gabriel wasn't ready to give the talk anyway.
Michael is explaining nothing because he thinks he can fix things and take care of what the issue is. It has not worked thus far but he will keep trying!
Gabriel would have given it but that was not on his agenda. Human sex is one thing but sex as an angel? Oh yeah, there’s the little worked muscle called embarrassment. He didn’t even know he still had it.

Pansy Parkinson and the Mortifying Ordeal of Finding Out Your Childhood Crush is a Monsterfucker
I hate to break it to you, but Draco is very swiftly developing a pavlovian reaction to the glowing eyes. Glowing eyes mean very good things around here.
Pansys POV is FASCINATING. mostly in that michael doesn't pay attention to his emoting, so I the reader don't notice unless MICHAEL notices someone else noticing his face 😵💫
But no Pansy is like "every time this guy talks to Draco hes all smiling and smug and happy to be there but he never seeks Draco out"
So michael IS emoting in a reciprocal way! It's not just that you can see Dracos crush from space, Michael looks very happy to be there!
Which yes The Fam knew, but Michael vascillates so hard between thinking hes not hiding at all and trying very hard to hide. It's wild to see a totally outside view
Pansy’s POV was absolutely fascinating to write and I also needed a bath after it lolol
Worth noting that this emoting is happening after Gabriel had him realize shutting it all up isn’t healthy. And to Pansy, even a blank face from Michael might as well be “this guy is so bloody smug I want to punch him.” But he’s not blank faced at this time so yes, he’s emoting. :)
Little baby Wayne looking at Professor Sprout and thinking she was so welcoming and kind
Michael, freshly angelic again, knowing Sprout was just doing her best but meant every kind word
Michael, after losing his parents and Sprout comforting him as best she could
Michael being absolutely bewildered that Sprout knows what he is but she still subjects him to hugs and wants to protect him and checks in on him
Michael deciding to stay, deciding on herbology because it's not really people interactive. But there's a million careers that don't deal with people, let's be real, he has such good connotations with Herbology because of Professor Sprout.
Michael getting that one last hug before graduation and noticing none of the other heads of house give them. Noticing that all the other Hufflepuffs get hugged too.
I love them.
:D
I love Sprout a lot. And I also love plants, even if I can’t take care of them very well.
And, listen, listen, we know so little about the other professors aside from the several who get a lot of page time. I can do what I want!
I love the way you've continued the theme of like. Forgiveness being separate from acknowledging an apology. Like yes youre different now and I respect that but forgiveness is something wholly different.
Balthazar is so 🥺
MICHAEL FEELING HOPE. PLEASE HE FEELS HOPE. MY BOY. IT STARTED WITH HIM BEING SO SO TIRED AND ENDED WITH HIM FEELING HOPE
The theme is very important for the series. And it’s one Michael has struggled with from the start.
I mean. Arguably it's a kindness. Because she has a phobia! So really she has a lot of incentive to shut the fuck up.
Michael: shes not that stupid
I would disagree, but hey.
Michael did not look into her fears when he came up with this one but maybe on some level he knew all along. He’s not going to look too closely into it; no reason to, after all.
What’s done is done and he’s not taking anything back from her.
