YOU. YOU UNDERSTAND ME
I want the next TES game to have a dungeon where you find a bunch of corpses and one of them is near a journal, but the journal was actually written by the monster living in the cave and explains how a bunch of explorers came in and tried to raid their cave and kill them. So they had to kill all the explorers instead

Bethesda failed the blades in Skyrim by providing a subpar main quest line without a good reason why we should ever choose between the blades/paarthurnax
They were literally so lazy that they relied on previous games/pre-existing lore knowledge for you to have any goodwill associated with the blades AT ALL, making anyone coming in as a new fan for Skyrim completely baffled and confused. Not to mention that even in the game itself all of the conflict regarding dragons is so underwritten I forget its a main element of the storyline a good 75% of the time.
So now we just have a fandom that largely hates one of the most interesting grey-morality factions in the franchise because Bethesda’s head writer has been absolute garbage after Oblivion came out. (And also hates Delphine because, y’know. She’s a mean woman even though its Esbern that asks you to kill Paar)
Your character is supposed to be basically a freakin’ demigod that is full of danger and weird borderline meta magic but by the end of the game you still get no answers about literally anything, no basis for what your characters actions actually are going to DO to effect the game. All of the other games had a melancholy, but definitive feeling of you accomplishing something (that usually will have more consequences later on). Skyrim has____?
Alduin, conceptually, was supposed to be a villain that rivaled Ur/The Tribunal in terms of the connotations his mere presence in the world space have. And how the fact your character stops the world from ending when everything leading UP to Skyrim highly suggested that this was the appointed time where it was SUPPOSED to end. And you know Bethesda isn’t going to touch on the dragons ever again besides shoehorn them into the series for the rest of time now as terribly animated mini bosses.
Like it says something that dragons returning was supposed to be this huge huge deal and be really cool but i felt more awe and wonder and UNDERSTANDING about how dragons worked in this universe when Martin Septim turned into one for 5 minutes at the end of the fourth game. I hate Emil Pagliarulo’s writing and Todd’s direction for game design with such a passion holy shit.

Naga Tail Armor Concepts
Call them nagas, yuan-ti, ophidians, lamias, or just snake people; nagas are cool. But one thing I’ve noticed in pretty much every single picture I’ve seen of them, the snake tail they slither on is always completely uncovered. They may wear a skirt or kilt to cover their hips, but past that their tails are always naked. Which seems to me like it’d be a liability if they were to go into battle- leaving such a massive section of the body unarmored would make you an easy target for someone with a sword or an axe, so I decided to try and come up with some designs for snake armor.
In designing them however, I discovered a good reason why they’re always drawn without armor- it’s really hard to design armor for snakes. You’d think it wouldn’t be, but since their tails are just long, smooth things without appendages or anything else to serve as anchor points, I don’t know how they’d be able to keep the whole thing from just sliding off like a sock. My best guess would be that they could strap it to a belt around their waist, like a garter belt. Even then, I wasn’t sure how they’d still be able to move and slither about in armor without it sliding off or wearing out due to friction.
Another thing to consider was flexibility. Snakes of course are extremely flexible creatures, and armor for them would have to be at least nearly as such, so some kind of mail like scale mail would be appropriate for them, in more ways than one. I also experimented with adding spikes on the armor that would stab and mutilate opponents the naga caught and crushed in their coils. Impractical, perhaps, but still very cool.
Of course, it wasn’t until after I drew these that I thought of another factor I hadn’t taken into account before: climate. In my brief study of armor design, I found that the type and style of armor depends largely on the climate of the armored person’s homeland, and pretty much every naga I’ve seen has been set in places where real-life snakes typically thrive: hot biomes such as deserts and jungles. Wearing a lot of armor, metal or otherwise, in a hot climate is way trouble than its worth for obvious reasons. Because of this, many fighters in hot climates, such as Sub-Saharan Africa, took to carrying large shields in lieu of body armor, so perhaps a naked naga tail is simply a matter of practicality.
Still, I think this is a topic worth brainstorming. What do the rest of you think?

Skyrim is a fucking wild ass game bc sometimes Bethesda will pay such close attention to detail and do shit like make Nazir tease you about the shit you put in the soup to poison the emperor if you added the gross ingredients, and then at the same time they’ll fucking accidentally make it look like Maven Blackbriar committed incest with her son because her other children are described as both her’s and Hemming’s by mistake
The context is that apparently Hemming was supposed to be her husband but they rescripted him to be Maven’s son instead for some obscure reason? Like he’s even scripted to sleep in Maven’s bed with her sometimes?? So they’re both calling Ingun and Sibbi their children, sleeping in the same bed, etc.
Like it literally just looks like mother/son incest, that’s how badly they fucked up with arranging this dynamic
