I really want to know what was going on in Alec's mind when Magnus, this gorgeous hot centuries old warlock he's known for 10 mins max winks at him and tells him 'call me'. I know he already knew he was gay but man, he really must have had the biggest gay panic that's ever gay panicked lol. He was just standing there, speechless, and Jace (his so called 'crush') had to drag him away. Smooth Alec, smooth
Hello how are we all? Good? Great! And me? Well it's 2026 and I'm still thinking about Magnus 'Sometimes it comes down to a choice... between saving one person and saving the whole world. I've seen it happen, and I'm selfish enough to want the person who loves me to choose me. But Nephilim will always choose the world' Bane and Alexander 'I don’t want the world. I want you' Lightwood so that probably says it all!!!
Summary: It has been days since the illness started to spread. And somehow, impossibly, Magnus thought Alec would be safe. That all the protection spells he’d woven on the Shadowhunter would keep him safe.
He was wrong.
It was too late.
Alec was already sick.
Or,
Shadowhunters fall ill to a mysterious curse, and Magnus Bane will be damned if he doesn't try everything to save his husband and little family of angel-blooded troublemakers.

I am yet again late posting this, but it is complete! Another entry for @malectober!
"Should I get an ankle tattoo?" Alec whirled around to face Magnus, who was standing across the flat in the kitchen.
"What?" Alec responded, the book he had been reading discarded on the couch.
"I'm thinking about getting an ankle tatto," Magnus repeated, pouring himself a cup of coffee.
"Magnus, you just woke up," Alec replied. "Maybe you should think on that a minute. What would you even get a tattoo of?"
"Your name, of course," Magnus responded without looking up from stirring in his creamer. "You know, like mundanes commonly do."
Alec gave Magnus a confused look as he picked up his book. "Don't they usually do that on their arms?"
Magnus shrugged and looked at Alec as he raised his coffee cup. "I'd be open to suggestions,"
"Let's back up a minute," Alec said. "Maybe think about getting a tattoo longer than five minutes. It's there forever, and Magnus forever is a long time for you. We've only been dating a few months, you could end up regretting it."
Alec's voice got a little shaky at the last part of the his little speech. This caused Magnus to launch himself across the room next to him. "I will not regret anything, Alexander."
Alec let out a shaky breath. "Well..."
Magnus waited anxiously for Alec to continue his sentence. The last way he wanted their weekend to start was with Alec becoming stuck in a spiral of self doubt.
"How about on our first anniversary, if you're still wanting a tattoo, we go get tattoos."
Magnus was caught off guard. "We?"
"Yeah," Alec replied, slightly fidgeting. "If you still want a tattoo of my name, on our first anniversary, I will get a matching one of yours."
"Deal," Magnus said immediately. There had been part of Alec in that moment that thought they'd both forget about this conversation on their first anniversary, if they had one he had thought. Magnus, however, was positive they'd have one and marked the date so he wouldn't forget.
That's how, on the morning of their first anniversary, Alec found himself getting a tattoo of Magnus' name on his ankle. At the end of the day, they had matching tattoos of each others names on their ankles, so that they'd always be together wherever they went.
your girl is back with another theory about the svefnthorn, because the concept of it intrigued me, especially in how the way it was resolved rather abruptly and kind of anticlimatic. also, i am simply that awesome, deal with it.
the svefnthorn's suspicious behavior
first of all, the svefnthorn is established to be deadly to anyone that's not a warlock, as it is powered with pure, demonic magic. the only explanation so far is that the alliance rune makes him possess both demonic magic (from magnus) and angelic magic.
notice how when he got struck, he was carrying magnus's magic - making it "technically" the third time magnus got pierced by the thorn, then wouldn't it make more sense if alec would be corrupted by that power and become sammael's minion? and not only alec survive, he knows how to command the power and uses it to free magnus. this raises several questions:
where and who does he learn that from? it's canon that many of alec's interactions and experience with magic are from fighting alongside magnus, who also is not that knowledgeable about the svefnthorn
why does the thorn listen to him? when magnus got struck by the thorn for the first time, it only increased his raw power and made it uncontrollable. how can alec manage to do the opposite as a shadowhunter in his 20s, and the literal eldest curses warlock with 400 years of experience can't?
theory: the svefnthorn has buried part of it inside alec
i propose that after alec's been struck, the unique combination between his angelic power and magnus's demonic one has made a piece of the thorn remain inside alec, later becoming dormant until it is struck again. it explains why he bears no visible mark from the wound, opposite to magnus, shiyun and ragnor when they were struck.
this part here is also interesting. at first, i thought it was the usual effect of the thorn. but what if, it's the svefnthorn wanting to be united with its missing part?
this would explain alec's sudden mastery of the thorn magic, how he can see the glow of it in others' warlocks, and use its magic for his own purposes.
the wicked power & the black volume of the dead's revelancy
the thorn (or part of it, if we're taking this theory into consideration) has become a part of shiyun after she transforms into a greater demon - her tail, to be exact. and shiyun has a vendetta against magnus and alec, established after the two books in the eldest curses series.
we also knows lucifer will be the main antagonist for the wicked powers - the first, the original prince of hell and fallen angel.
what if, one of the plot twists in the future series is them finding out how, in order to stop lucifer (the fallen god), they have to restore the svefnthorn to its original form by letting shiyun strike alec. as the consul, it will be alec's duty to prioritize the shadoworld above himself, above his family, really.
another fun thought to think about. remember excalibur, the sword that's stuck in the stone, forever locked in its own potential? what is the chance the stone isn't a stone, but a body?
Not only all of this makes a lot of sense, but there must be a connection to the last book. CC already said the TMI gang won't be present during part of the TWP because they will be on a certain mission, which should be related to the Black Volume of Dead and the last book of TEC trilogy.
And why they would be away when trouble is arising again, especially now that Alec is the Consul? It must have something to do with the Svefnthorn. Either it's starting to act up and affecting Alec’s behavior or somehow they found out it could be used against a Prince of Hell but the how should be written in the BVoD. Hence a mission to retrieve it.
I think it would be interesting if Alec could somehow control this new Svefnthorn inside him. Not only to damage an enemy, but also to boost up a Warlock ally. Shinyun said that each new strike of the Svefnthorn would ramp up the Warlock's magic. So, Magnus is one of the most powerful warlocks alive. If, while again being connected through the Alliance Rune, Alec "striked" Magnus enough and in a way to boost up his power exponentially high... and through their connection that power somehow went back to Alec as feedback... what a fucking powerful pair of Nephilim and Downworlder they would make.
For the last trilogy of TSC, having all the Princes of Hell and even Lucifer involved, I don't have doubts that Magnus will have a big role on it - as a character who has been in all books, it's almost inevitable. If Alec could help Magnus have enough power to go toe to toe against a Prince of Hell... damn.
It would actually be kind of poetic a Nephilim becoming a weapon for a Downworlder to wield against the King of Demons.
What a couple *sigh happily*
I just hope Alec won't have to self-sacrifice for that
also it interestingly tied back to alec role all the way back in tmi, how he’s covered the team back with his long range and also archer (marksmen) in general is good at attacking and supporting!
Oooh could you imagine that if instead of some sort of poke-y thing like a spear, Alec becomes a bow for Magnus to use it as a weapon, concentrating his magic to shoot? 🥺
Also also!
I just saw this at Shadowhunters Wiki:
Purpose of Svefnthorn:
Linking a warlock to a demon realm
So, this is a long stretch, BUT-
What if through the Alliance Rune, instead of a demon realm, Alec’s angel blood connect Magnus to heaven? This powered by Alec’s parabatai rune, someone with pure angel blood. Having the power directly from heaven to fight Lucifer?

I was rewatching Jumanji, and suddenly had an idea for a Jumanji x Shadowhunters crossover.
So, buckle up and bear with me.
It's the mundane world, and here they have the same looks from the show (hold on, this is important)
Alec, Jace, Izzy, Clary, and Simon are a tight group of friends, and they are already in college
Somehow, one of them gets the Jumanji (here, it's not Jumanji, but Shadow World) video game and takes it to game night. They all get dragged into the TV and become characters of that game.
They're mostly similar to their actual appearances, but with some minor adjustments. Here, they have the look of the books. So, Alec becomes a bit shorter, has blue eyes and shaggy hair. It's the same for others. Also, they all get runes and specific skills and weapon mastery.
As any game, they get a mission. Basically, they have to retrieve the Mortal Cup and Mortal Sword before Valentine or else the entire Shadow World will be doomed. They have to take them to the Mortal Mirror and call upon Raziel to make a wish and go back home.
During this journey, they meet Magnus Bane - and to their surprise he is not a NPC. Magnus tells them he has been stuck in that game for some time, unable to advance further since he almost lost all his lives. They all recall a Magnus who disappeared 15 years ago, and his friends never heard of him again.
Magnus is so shocked by this information, his magic starts to lash out. It's Alec who is able to calm him down and sparks fly for another reason.
Many things happen, and at one point Alec even gives up one of his lives to save Magnus while transferring energy to him.
In the end, they succeed and finish the game. Alec fears never seeing Magnus again, but Magnus promises to find him. But when they all go back to their world, Magnus is nowhere to be seen - he went back to the same point in time when he first disappeared.
One day, though, Alec sees Catarina and Ragnor - the two neighbors who lost their friend years ago - talking to a man in front of their home. He is much older than his appearance in the game, and just a little bit shorter than Alec, but Alec would recognize Magnus anywhere.
Magnus, who never married, and has been travelling since he came back to his time. He decided to stay in Europe while the time wasn't right as to not meet Alec as a child. After 15 years, he was finally back in New York.
And damn if the age difference would stop him from starting a real thing with Magnus. Magnus is still the same beautiful, kind and magical man he met in that game. People could shove their opinions about age where the sun couldn't reach.
When they finally kissed, it felt the realest thing Alec had ever felt in his entire life.
