🌸 April Wrap-Up 🌸 My April reading was a near carbon coby of March: finishing a fantastic Throne of Glass volume while the other books pales in comparison. I revisited books I read in middle school and they didn’t age well yet again. Maybe I should just let the past dwell in nostalgia instead of under the harsh beam of my adult reading taste. On the flip side, I thrifted Allie Brosh’s book that I’ve been hunting for a solid decade. It was worth the wait, but I could have done with 70% less dog. I did not find any joy in Joy Luck Club, I regretted picking up I Might Regret This, and The Awakening put me sleep. There were some stinkers and I think sometimes my expectations are too high from hyped up books. Ya win some, ya lose some, ya grow very concerned over the 13 uses of the word “ejaculated” in the 164 pages of Pollyanna. I learned Hugh Jackman loves it when you buy him cookies unprompted, Princess Mia is willing to renounce all her feminist principles for a prom ticket, and it is canon that a pregnant villain straight up slaps Nancy Drew like it’s the 2022 Oscars. ☠️ Books Read: I Might Regret This/Abbi Jacobson 🗽 The Clue at Black Creek Farm/Carolyn Keene 🥕 The Joy Luck Club/Amy Tan 🍜 Big Shot/Mindy Kaling 🍪 Ice Cream Man Vol 7/W Maxwell Prince 🛩 Hyperbole & A Half/Allie Brosh 🎂 Pollyanna/Eleanor H Porter 🚂 Heir of Fire/Sarah J Maas 🔥 Swede Dreams/Eva Apelqvist 🇸🇪 A Duchess By Midnight/Charis Michaels 🕰 Thank You For Listening/Julia Whelan 🎧 The Awakening/Nora Roberts 😴 Princess in Pink/Meg Cabot 👛 #AprilWrapUp #BirthdayBooks #BirthdayCakesBloggersAndBroadCity https://www.instagram.com/p/CdBbfmdrGai/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
