Khadi and her team produce delicious local meals, cooked over an open fire, using local ingredients and shared around a big platter in the evening light. The festival period at the end of 2017 was enjoyed by all in Khady and Moustapha’s capable hands. During the two week period all rooms were filled and guests took advantage, once again, of the Little Baobab’s special excursions.

Stuck in the mother of all queues on The Gambia river. Babili Mansa's (the bridge builder, one of many titles ex dictator Jammeh awarded itself) bridge isn't finished yet so there are hundreds of buses waiting for a couple of small rusting ferries. Still, I've found a cafe that seems to specialize in spam and condensed milk - I'm sticking to (black) coffee. #gambia (at Farafenni)

Probably the closest I'll get to a meatball sub. Khady makes bullet (sic) - spicy fish balls, in a reduced tomato sauce and served in a French style baguette. Sublime, but no one here will touch it as tastes are very conservative in the village. #senegal #tapalapa
