Legit one of my favourite places in Melbourne ☀️ Too bad I have now seen all of the good films! But Yarraville is a great neighbourhood to hang out regardless 😌 I can still always go there to read and write and have coffee in the sun (no pun intended!) or go for a burger and beer, or pho. Excellent day spent watching #mollysgame @cinemanova followed by a screening of #seventeen @kinocinemas - an Austrian coming-of-age story about a lesbian teen and her friends. @melbqueerfilmfest #mqff2018 delivered again! 🏳️‍🌈😊👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Two profoundly different films but both 💯 enjoyable!! 👌🏼 (at Kino Cinema)

Today, I’m upset my twisted ankle means I’ll have to take things slow, walk less, miss dance class, stop skating and generally be housebound and miserable because I need groceries but got no car to get them and no pals nearby to help BUT I am also still so happy and content I treated myself to tickets to @cinemaniacsoz “That Cold Day in the Park” on Saturday. I realised that I need to try harder to make connections with people who love the same things as me because human interaction is vital to my mental wellbeing. Watching a horror film in a room full of strangers who were as passionate about movies as me made me want to go back to uni, write essays on #hagsploitation, #gender roles in film, female #horror, #otherness and #queerness. I miss being surrounded by film & tv students, the exchange between students and teachers and spending hours in the library without feeling guilty. Can’t wait for @cinemaniacsoz next screening in February! (at The Backlot Studios Melbourne)
