Say it louder for the people in the back!!
Friendly reminder to everyone:
ART IS POLITICAL
Art follows the artist, no matter what anyone else says. Art is the human expression of emotions, opinions, current states of the world, life, and society. It is fundamentally impossible to differentiate a creation from its creator. Even if a child no longer associates with the people who have them life, and they are no longer a family, that child will always hold the parents genetics. That is impossible to deny. Art is the same since art is the child of the person it was created by.
Art has always been used to tell stories, formulate emotion, express one’s inner desires, fears, thoughts, opinions, and express what sits inside of them. Each of those items relates back to what can be a political statement if the artist is desires.
As an artist myself, I use my art to grapple with death and explore dying as a concept. However, with the current state of America, I have found my portfolio using death and art to show the death of media literacy, books, community, childhood, and education, all of which are a reflection of the political state of where I am living. Regardless of this being initially subconscious and unintentional, my art naturally shifted to reflect what my reality is, similar to how all of my paintings grew to reflect themes and motifs of death after I lost many people close to me.
I suppose to sum up this long, wordy post, art follows the artist, and the artist has opinions, just like any other human. As all people, artists see the world and the political state of it, and often times, what they create reflects what they are seeing and how they feel about what they are seeing.
We had to submit evidence of us actually having some kind of creative process in my college art class so my teacher gets the messiest pages I have
Pretty sure the guy doesn’t like me
sometimes I wish I was a better artist, so that when I got a little idea, I could turn it into a little drawing.
Today? A corrupted furby being loved as a cryptid by unaltered furbies in one panel and another being worshipped. Doot doot doo! Doot doot doooo!
My brother made me draw old man mcgucket accusing waddles of witchcraft. We need to be cartoon writers
I created this water color painting as a way to show that even when you are lost, regardless of your religion, there is a belief throughout cultures that something is there watching and protecting you. Some people believe it is a god, some believe in the power of the universe, others angels, past loved ones, or nature herself.

Hey, wait! Please stop scrolling for a sec!
Please bear with me and read to the end! I promise it'll be worth it.
My name is Nexys, and I am queer and disabled. For years I have been striving to create the most tight-knit safe space (that's ACTUALLY safe) on the internet, using content creation as common ground. And we're really starting to take off!
But I need your help. Please reblog this post so that I may meet new people and make new friends! My community has been lifechanging, both to myself and to the people within it. I really feel like my Twitch, YouTube, and Discord communities have been making a difference in the lives of some of the most disadvantaged and marginalized people in the LGBT and neurodiverse communities.
We often play games like Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon, and Pokémon, with the occasional challenges and other genres thrown in. Sometimes we even invite our chat to play the games with us! So if this sounds like the sort of community you'd be interested in, please join our Discord Server so you don't miss out!
I'm a small creator, and due to my disabilities cannot hold down a normal 9-5 job, so any support and engagement from you—time or money—is a lifechanging opportunity that could potentially alter the course of my life and the lives of my loved ones. Even just dropping in to say hello would mean the world to me!
But I know time is a precious resource, so if you're too busy to sit in with us but still want to support the cause, for as little as $1/month you can become a Patron! And depending on the tier you choose, there may even be some free artwork and other fun perks in it for you!
Thank you so much for your time! Me and my community really hope to meet you, and we hope that you, dear reader, have a fantastic rest of your day/night! Happy Pride!

My new graphic novel, The Pale Queen, will be on shelves June 25 (just a few days away)! It's a gothic fantasy with elements of fairy tales, romance, and little folk horror.
It's a very weird time to be queer creator making queer stories, so if this sounds like your thing, please support by reserving your copy now, wherever you get books!
won't you be my otter half? 🦦❤️🧡💛
I feel like I’m the only person who’s played this game if you’re a night in the woods fan sound off
Right, considering the current state of corporate politics on this site, and that it seems that only those affected seem to be actively speaking on the matter, this needs to be dragged out to a wider audience.
This extends to refusing to believe in bogus call-out posts for frankly minuscule thinks such as being horny or kinky, especially if the target is presenting in an ‘unconventional’ manner, (therians, etc.) this double standard where it is seen as ‘degenerate’ for transfemmes to merely exist in certain spaces, yet everyone else is fine to do so is disgusting and part of the reason for the backlash.
PUTTING TERFS DNI IS NOT THE BE ALL AND END ALL, YOU GENUINELY HAVE TO PUT YOUR MORALS OF BEING RESPECTFUL INTO PRACTICE.
REBLOG IF YOUR ACCOUNT IS A TRANSFEM SAFE SPACE.
We need to show these higher ups how much we truly value them.
Edit 1: Changed the wording of the post and decided to put in a reminder.
Edit 2: Further Re-iteration on the wording and format edits.
This wasn’t my original idea. I took inspiration and used another artist’s work as reference and inspiration I can’t find their name online but if anyone finds similar art it might belong to them ☺️
