Attended a rattlesnake conference yesterday and one of the presenters was talking about public attitudes towards snakes, specifically how showing them in a non-aggressive context helps to create more positive attitudes, and. Y'all. I NEED to show you the image he used as an example

⛓️ Chain: How strong is your F/O's commitment to you? Have they proven that commitment to you?

I wouldn't say so much that Beast is committed to me as I'm just a very interesting subject that he keeps coming back to spend time with :) Though because he finds me so interesting, I guess he is committed at least to keeping me around

🩸Blood: How intimate is your F/O with you? Is their attachment to you healthy?

I'll take "intimate" here as non-sexual, since he's uh...kind of a tree. (and there's a reason unpolished wooden dildos never took off) But otherwise he is surprisingly intimate! He loves to put his hands on me (shoulder touching, hand holding and caressing of my face or hair are all big favorites for him), and sometimes feels inclined to give me a lil kiss (which always leaves a smudge of Edelwood oil behind). He also loves to pull me into a little dance now and then. I wouldn't say the attachment's entirely healthy since a big theme for Beast is that he's a very predatory and manipulative villain, and that's part of the appeal to him for me.

🕯 Candle: How do you comfort your F/O when they're going through a tough time? How do they comfort you in return?

Beast isn't someone who really struggles that often, and when something does actually upset him that much, he prefers to be alone. So comforting him isn't really a possibility, though I'd be down for it if he'd let me. As for comforting me, he again favors physical touch, but he'll also just talk to and sing to me, since he knows his voice is very comforting to me, and even in canon, he's got a serious silver tongue and is good at talking his way into peoples' heads. Manipulative, sure, but in this case he's able to use it for a positive purpose.

There's something so sweet to me about having an f/o that's considered intimidating or scary. Like this big spooky person LOVES YOU!!! They love you so much, and they want you to know it!

Can they be a little bit intense about it? Of course. But they do it to show just how much they care, how dedicated they are to you.

And the joy it brings them from the bottom of their heart, that YOU were the person to bring this side out of them. Priceless, they wouldn't trade it for anything.

I love holiday monsterfucker events, but we really really need more variety for the winter season. All I ever see is krampus, yetis, and the occasional ogre/giant or rudolf.

Like guys, we have so many options. The unseelie, also known as the malevolent fey of winter. The god of the north wind Borealis. The Holly King. Spirits of winter storms like the Yuki-onna. Ice dragons. Sea monsters haunting dark icy waters. Animal hybrids regarding you as either a meal or a source of warmth during hibernation. Household guardians demanding a winter solstice offering in exchange for keeping the hearth warm, bellies full, and blizzards out. Beasts who use fires in the middle of storms to lure prey like anglerfish. And so on.

It’s winter! The season itself embodies something monstrous and it contains hundreds of holidays across cultures, so surely we can come up with more than evil Santa.
