1 ½ to 2lb purple potatoes and a purple sweet potato
3 medium leeks
2 tbsp butter
1 medium onion
4 cups chicken broth
½ tbsp dried thyme
½ cup milk
So first is to prep the leeks. Slice the leaves open and separate them. Rinse them off and then thinly slice only the white and light green parts.
Rinse, peel, and slice your potatoes.
I recommend using a cutting board that doesn’t stain.
Slice your onion. I put the onion in the same bowl ask the leeks.
Melt your butter in a large pot, and sautee the onions and leeks.
Add the thyme when the onions and leeks are about halfway done.
Add the chicken broth and the potatoes.
Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Then, turn the heat down to low and either get a blender or an immersion blender. I have an immersion blender, so just stick it in go to town. If you have a regular blender, you’ll have to do this in batches.
Add the milk and mix.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Took me a few bites to get over the color, but it’s really tasty. The sweet potato adds a light sweetness!
Difficulty: Medium, 3-4 hours, does like, 8 hearty slices? I guess?
Ingredients:
2 granny smith
3 fuji
½ of a lemon
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup regular sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
¼ cups water, plus about 10 tbsp of water
2 tbsp butter
1/3 cup cornstarch
2 cups of flour
2/3 cups cold butter
1 egg
First let’s start with the crust. Cut up your 2/3 cups of butter into slices, and combine with the two cups of flour. You want to combine it until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Slow add a tablespoon or two of water at a time, and combine with a fork. When it starts looking like a shaggy dough. Then use your hands to make it into a ball.
Put it into a fridge for later. Now, peel, core, and slice up your apples. The number of apples will depend if you have giant apples like I somehow got.
Squeeze the lemon on to the apple slices and give it a mix. This will help prevent browning. Also flavor.
Melt the 2 tbsp of butter in a large saucepan on low. Put in your brown sugar, regular sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cornstarch, and your ¼ cup of water. Stir until everything is melted.
Put your apple slices in and coat them in the sauce. Let them cook down for a bit on the low heat, stirring occasionally. They will lose liquid as you do this. Then turn off the heat.
Okay back to the crust. Flour your surface and rolling pin, and take a little more than half of the dough. Roll it out to slightly bigger than your 13″ pie pan.
Roll it onto the rolling pin, and then unroll it onto the pie pan. Gently work it into the pan, and patch up any tears or missing bits.
I like to trim off excess now, simply because I find it easier to manage, but honestly, right now, it’s optional. Make sure not to trim off too much if you do.
Fill with the apples. Make sure they aren’t too wet. Take your time to arrange them.
Take the rest of your pie crust dough and roll it out to the thickness of the rest of the crust. Cut it into strips.
Okay so now we’re gonna weave the strips on the top of the pie. I like to lay a few down one way, then pull back every other one and lay down a new strip, going perpendicular.
OKAY ALMOST DONE preheat your oven to 425F. Take a fork and crimp the strips to the edge. Normally, you wouldn’t do the first trim to make this easier, but frankly, I find it just as easy. Then trim the excess from the strips. Crack an egg in a bowl and scramble it. Take a pastry brush and brush on the egg wash on the weaving.
Put that sucker in the oven for 15 minutes. Once 15 minutes is up, reduce the heat to 350F and bake for 35 minutes.
That was a long one, but man it’s worth it. It’s not too sweet and very delicious. Warm it in the microwave and/or serve with ice cream!
Understanding the properties that crystals can provide makes them more than "just rocks".
People tend to be quick to judge when it comes to crystals. There is a very specific impression that people who enjoy crystals tend to give off that, for some reason, people do not take seriously. You would think that the humble nature of those who enjoy crystals would be enough to prove that it is special and a non-issue. But people think it is silly nonsense. It could possibly be nonsense, but if it makes people feel good, then what is wrong with that? There are so many other things in the world that people tend to obsess over that are harmful to their well-being, not crystals. Crystals were a very special start to finding my spiritual self; they do not need to be linked to a religious journey specifically, but they helped me understand my beliefs in life. By helping others see their natural power and how they can link themselves to the universe, I believe it could help them follow the same path I did.
There is a long list of crystals that have many unique traits and properties. Within this post, you will see:

A Brief History of Crystal Healing
Modern crystal healing is based on the traditional concepts borrowed from Asian cultures. One specific example is the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) concept of "chi" or "qi", which means life energy. Through TCM, it is believed that by channeling and guiding your inner qi, you can help physically heal any inner ailments that one might be experiencing. Though there is no scientific proof of this, according to Dr. Kevin W Chen, the meditative practices create a sense of comfort and a strong awareness of someone's inner qi. Crystals are a staple of specific meditation strategies and can be used to help gather the energy wanted for that session. Another example that follows a similar structure is from Buddhism and Hinduism with the concept of chakras. There are 7 different chakras, and each is situated in a different area of your body. Starting from the top, there is the Crown (Sahasrara), the third eye (Anja), the throat (Vishuddha), the heart (Anahata), the solar plexus (Manipura), the sacral (Svadhisthana), and the root chakra (Muladhara). You can find the specific properties of each chakra in, The Art of Living: "The Comprehensive Guide to Understanding and Balancing Your 7 Chakras". When balancing a specific chakra, there are specific crystals that represent each chakra and can help strengthen the energy you would like to build and release from there.
Popular Crystals
There are many crystals that pop into someone's head first when the topic is brought up. They are simply the most well known.
If you were to think of a crystal which comes to mind first?
Rose Quartz
Amethyst
Tigers Eye
Lapis Lazuli
Clear Quartz
Voting ended onMar 26
The options in this poll are most likely the top 5 that people recognize first. Unless you are well-versed in crystals, or you watched all of Steven Universe, these are (what I am guessing) what came to your head.
So you definitely heard of them, but did you know what they specialize in?
Rose Quartz
Rose quartz is that beautiful light pink crystal that many know correlates with love. It can heal your heart and root chakra. Not only is it for unconditional love, but it also helps with beauty, compassion, forgiveness, imagination, calming, and most importantly, self-love. Rose quartz can help awaken a blockage you might be feeling over your heart, and break down any emotional wounds you might have been carrying with you.
According to the Greek hyalos, Linda Mason writes in her blog that it is also called "Pink Quartz" or "Hyaline", meaning glass. It was also referred to in antiquity as a Bohemian or Silesian Ruby.
Zodiac it pairs with: Taurus, Libra, and Cancer.
Amethyst
Amethyst and Rose Quartz to me are the princesses of the crystal kingdom. Amethyst is a purple variety of quartz that gains its color from gamma irradiation and trace amounts of iron, according to the Crystal Council. Most of the world's supply of Amethyst comes from Brazil and Uruguay.
Amethyst has been known to help improve mental clarity and physical energy; it pairs perfectly in meditation sessions. With Amethyst, it awakens a person's intuition by moving it to the front of their mind. It pairs with the crown chakra and the third eye chakra.
More specific properties it works with are breaking addictions, travel, psychic abilities, dreams, clarity, protection, wisdom, and anxiety relief.
Zodiac it aligns with: Virgo, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.
Tigers Eye
Much like the nature of the animal in its name, tigers eye is known for manifesting inner strength and willpower. It is associated with the sacral and solar plexus chakras. According to Rock Paradise, you can find it typically in Australia, Burma, India, Namibia, South Africa, the US, and Brazil.
This healing crystal helps boost inner confidence and pride. With its captivating patterns, it helps manifest the most important traits that we want to see in ourselves. It can ward off the evil spirits that could be trying to drag down the confidence boost you are trying to strengthen.
Zodiac it aligns with: Capricorn and Leo.
Lapis Lazuli
Lapis Lazuli is that stunning blue crystal that tends to attract my eyes every time I see it within a collection. It is typically found in Afghanistan, Russia, Chile, and the US. It is actually a metamorphic rock that is formed from limestone and other materials. The chakras it connects with the best are the third eye and the throat chakra for intuition and communication.
Lapis deepens your wisdom and strengthens your inner being by empowering your spirit. It brings confidence, courage, and good fortune. According to the Sage Goddess, it has been used for thousands of years, and it has been said to enhance intuition, promote spiritual awareness, and aid in meditation. It was highly valued in many different ancient civilizations, such as the Greeks, the Egyptians, and the Mesopotamians.
Zodiac it aligns with: Sagittarius, Libra, Virgo, and Taurus.
Clear Quartz
Clear Quartz is the base crystal for any spiritual work that I do. It is one of the most used healing crystals and is known for its protective and versatile nature. You are bound to find at least 10 different clear quartz crystals in any crystal collector's collection. You can find Clear Quartz in Brazil, the US, Madagascar, and Russia. It is also connected to the crown chakra, acting as a powerful amplifier for all chakras.
As for its healing properties, if it is paired with other crystals, it will amplify their properties as well. It is perfect for cleansing and balancing all of the energy in your body, mind, and spirit. According to The Healing Hedge Witch, it has healing vibrations that support the physical body and aid in detoxifying and strengthening the immune system.
Zodiac it aligns with: Aries, leo, Gemini, and Capricorn.
Crystals You Might Not Have Known About
Now if I tried to list all the unique crystals that might be out of your radar, we would be sitting here all day. So let's go over my top 3 favorites.
Carnelian
I would say that Carnelian is typically amongst the pile of the crystals you know, but you just never knew its name. According to Moonrise Crystals, Carnelian has been a big deal to people since the time of the pharaohs. Today we find it in Botswana, Brazil, and India.
With its vibrant bright orange color, it promotes a happy energy and has a playful side. It attracts prosperity and abundance. I believe it pairs well with Rose Quartz in boosting some romance within your relationships. It aligns with the root, sacral and solar plexus chakra, boosting creativity, motivation, confidence, and fertility.
Zodiac it aligns with: Taurus, Cancer, and Leo.
Dalmation Jasper
Dalmation Jaspers appearance very much resembles the coat of a dalmation dog breed. Much like a dog, this stone promotes a playful energy and helps break down barriers that prevent you from achieving your goals. It has a grounding energy and a sense of stability.
According to The Stone Sanctuary, It is also known as a dalmation stone and can be found in Mexico. The chakras it is associated with are the solar plexus, sacral, and root chakra, helping with your connection to the earth and your emotional harmony.
Zodiac it aligns with: Virgo, Gemini, Sagittarius and Libra.
Smoky Quartz
Smoky quartz and clear quartz are very similar in my mind and both hold a powerful grounding ability. They both have extensive healing properties and promote physical and emotional well-being. According to Tiny Rituals, Smoky acts like a shield against negativity and absorbs stress and harmful energies.
The chakra that Smoky quartz works best alongside is the root chakra because of its anchoring abilities. If you can't get your hands on clear quartz, Smoky quartz is your friend, and it is typically found in Brazil, Madagascar, and the Swiss Alps. But, it can also be found in Scotland, the US, Russia, Australia, and China.
Zodiac it aligns with: Capricorn and Virgo.
Honorable Mentions
This section will break down some of my favorite crystals and stones that you might recognize. I felt they would be left out if I did not include them with this collection of crystal knowledge.
Opalite
Opalite is one of the world's man-made stones, there are some forms of natural opalite, but it is hard to come across. If you were to search, it would be in Brazil, Myanmar, Madagascar, Mexico, Canada, and the US.
The energy that Opalite transmits is a vibration of harmony, higher energy, and personal spiritual growth. According to Designs by Nature Gems, it resonates with the third eye chakra, enhancing your natural intuitive gifts.
Zodiac it aligns with: Cancer, Libra, Pisces, and Aquarius.
and lastly my personal favorite...
Bumblebee Jasper
Bumblebee is another jasper stone that is a rare find. It is a sedimentary rock found in Indonesian Volcanoes, specifically Papandayan, according to the Crystal Council. The chakras that it pairs well with are the solar plexus and the sacral chakra, perfect for creativity, confidence, and willpower.
The properties that Bumblebee Jasper emits are positive vibes, stress relief, social confidence, emotional strength. It has a very happy "buzzing" energy.
Zodiac it aligns with: Leo, Taurus, Cancer, Sagittarius, and Gemini.
Ways to Keep and Store Crystals
Crystals are sensitive just as we are, specifically to things like the sun and water. You want to make sure you do proper research on the Crystal or stone you decide to take home, whether it is raw or smooth. Certain crystals, like Amethyst for example, cannot be in the sun for days at a time because it will lose its recognizable purple hue.
On the other side of the coin, the sun is what can charge and create a strong powerful energy that will release from your crystals. So if you are going to let your crystals "charge" in the sun, be aware of how long they can and should sit in it. This is the same concept when using water to cleanse your crystals, because it can cause the same effect.
Crystals are powerful together and can pull each other's energy to grow stronger, it is important to place them in a dry and happy environment. One special way to display them is on an altar. This involves placing them in a bowl or dish alongside things that matter to you spiritually. Personally I have my crystals alongside dried flowers and candles.
Every crystal has it's own rules, and it would take an entire other blog post to fully describe exactly how to care for each one. The Crystal Council does an amazing job breaking this all down on their blog.
How to Use Crystals
Each crystal has its own specific way it can be used. For the most part, people tend to follow where they should be with your chakras.
For instance, if you were to be using Lapis Lazuli for your meditation practice, it would be best placed in between your eyebrows to line up with your third eye chakra. It will help draw your awareness to that chakra and can help open it with ease. Another example would be how to use Carnelian. If you were to be interested in trying for children and wanted to meditate with the thought of boosting your fertility, it would be best to place the stone just below your belly button to pair with your sacral chakra.
If you find you are not ready to meditate and sit for that long period of time (although it is very good for you in many ways, with or without crystals), you can also just carry or wear your stones or crystals. This means wearing a necklace, bracelet, ring, or any kind of jewelry. You can also just hold the stone in your pocket. A personal favorite way to carry my collection of crystals is with a spiral cage crystal holder that slips onto a necklace or an adjustable hand tied holder. The two can be found in the link below.

Besides wearing your crystals, you can also use them by keeping them alongside your bed or in your bedroom. They should hopefully be spreading energy to you while you sleep, which is why from time to time you should cleanse them to eliminate any bad energy you might have gave them while you were sleeping, i.e. bad dreams.
Summary
Now that we have covered some properties of the crystals you know, and the ones I might have introduced to you, I truly hope it has developed a new understanding in what they can do for you. There may not be a scientific study that proves that their powers are true, but what your brain can manifest within them and your own spirit is real. You are the conductor of the world around you, and if you truly believe in yourself and what they can do for you, you can and will see a difference in your way in life.
The best advice I can give if you do decide to take on healing with crystals, is that when you start your collection, write about it. Log in a notebook what each crystal does for you, this will train your mind to remember the powers you are accumulating in your collection.
Make sure to stage your crystals properly and safely to keep them active and useful for your needs. Cleanse them monthly and research the areas you feel low in your life and which crystals can help lift your spirit.
I just wanted to do a quick PSA about cleansing gemstones in moon water! I had someone ask how to cleanse stone at a con recently and mentioned you should use sand for stones that can't get wet. They had no idea that was A Thing!
THIS IS A REAL SAFETY CONCERNS, SOME STONES BECOME TOXIC WHEN SUBMERGED!!
Stones, crystals, minerals, ect you should avoid cleansing with water at all costs:
-minerals ending in -ite (tend to get damaged easily/quickly, may become dangerous to touch while wet- like malachite- many soft enough to outright dissolve-such as calcite)
-minerals with copper or iron inclusions or base structure, such as turquoise and chryssocola (these will rust and destroy/alter the inclusions and even change the color of the stone, as the color is a byproduct of the metal)
New Moon: This phase is a time to rest and restore, and is all about new beginnings. It’s a good time to make changes and adjustments, and also to cleanse, purify and find inner harmony and peace. Perfect for rituals that designate sacred space.
Waxing Moon: This is a good time to use positive magic which will increase something, for example a money spell or promotion spell. It’s also a good phase for spells that work on getting out of depression, finding lost objects, passing tests and breaking bad habits.
Full Moon: The Moon’s most powerful phase. A time of fulfillment, increased magic and celebration. A good time for rituals that focus on personal growth and spiritual development. For example healing magic, increasing awareness and strengthening bonds. If you want, make Full Moon water during this phase.
Waning Moon: A time to let things go, break habit and releasing bad energy. So spells that focus on banishing negativity, worries and dark clouds. Draw strength from the universe and gain power to take control. Get out of bad situations and ruts.
A–Z of Stones, Bones, and Sentient Vibes Locked in Rock Form
Full disclosure: I was into rocks before I found out my grandmother was pagan and had been quietly enchanting every mirror in her house since 1973. Geology was my original hyperfixation. This is my domain. It's my Final Fantasy class.
Welcome to the mineral multiverse.
⟡This is not your Pinterest crystal starter pack⟡
This is a chaotic, reverent, footnote-infested spiral into the literal bones of the earth.
We are not here to collect shiny things like feral magpies with a credit card. (I mean you could... I'm just not gonna tell you to)
We are here to work with the stones. Listen to them. Cry a little. Possibly get hexed by an ancient fossil.
(It happens)
This is a working index. Not sorted by market hype, influencer trends, or what TikTok thinks will cure your heartbreak.
This is about presence. Lore. Spellcraft. The stories inside the stone.
Each post will include:
Ritual uses and energetic correspondences
(aka what it’s good for besides looking like fancy jewelry)
Myth, magic, and elemental affinities
(yes it’s shiny. yes it could also be ruled by death gods. we contain multitudes)
Traditional uses across cultures
(history matters. folklore matters. the vibes are not enough)
Planetary rulership and magical properties
(when Mars gets involved, wear gloves and don’t ask questions)
⚠︎ Toxicity and ritual safety
(no seriously. do not lick the malachite. this is not a test. it will initiate the ER visit)
✥ Cultural and closed-tradition context
(some stones are not yours to use. and that’s okay. respect is also magic)
This is not a collector’s guide.
It’s a conversation. A weird, mineral-heavy alphabet of listening.
Some of these stones are buried in riverbeds.
Some are carved into blades.
Some are still resting in sacred places that should not be disturbed.
Some are traded like secrets across centuries.
All of them carry stories.
Follow the index from A to Z. One letter, and one witchy footnote at a time.
Each post is a touchstone.
Literal and magical.
When the full index is complete, I can share deep-dive spreads for any crystals you want more detail on. Just send a request for the ones you're curious about.
But for now...
Today's witchy lesson is on crystals! Specifically, crystal shapes and their meanings, types of crystals and their meanings, and what you can use crystals for in your practice!
---
Basic Crystals and Their Meanings:
Clear Quartz -> Clear quartz is known for its ability to amplify intention and magnify the energy of other stones around it
Selenite -> Selenite is good for cleansing and purifying the area and objects around it
Amethyst -> Amethyst provides a peaceful and relaxing energy
Carnelian -> Carnelian is known for boosting creative energy and allowing for better creative flow
Rose Quartz -> Rose quartz is known for supporting and amplifying love of all kinds (self love, romantic love, platonic love, etc.)
Pyrite -> Pyrite (also known as 'Fool's Gold') is known for drawing in success and fortune
Obsidian -> Obsidian sucks in negative energy from the surrounding space providing protection from unwanted energies and negativity
---
Crystal Shapes and Meanings:
Cube -> Cube shaped crystals are often tied to grounding and would be good to use during meditation or meditative spellwork.
Sphere -> Sphere shaped crystals are thought to be more balanced with the energy they emit, splitting it evenly in all directions. They are good to use in grounding work (like meditation) or for protective spells/energy.
Pyramids -> Pyramid shaped crystals are most commonly associated with the idea of communing with celestial bodies or with the universe. Pyramid shaped crystals would be beneficial to use in deity worship or working with deities for spellwork.
Tower/Point -> Tower and point shaped crystals are known to amplify intention and point it in a certain direction. In my opinion, they are the most universally helpful shape and so can be used for a variety of spells.
Palm Stones -> Palm Stones are flat disks of stone that can be placed in one's palm and are often used to provide soothing energy. When placed in the palm they can be rubbed to provide therapeutic relief in moments of anxiety.
Cluster -> A cluster is a mix between a sphere and a point. The energy is emitted in all directions, but not evenly. They are most beneficial for spells and powers you want amplified, but don't need to be even or concentrated in one particular area.

General Crystal Tips:
When purchasing crystals, make sure the ones you are buying are coming from reputable, ethical sources and are actual crystals!
Before letting any crystal come in contact with the sun or with water, make sure it is safe to do. Some crystals are known to leech harmful chemicals or elements into water when submerged while some will just erode away in minutes. Some crystals can also fade if left in direct sunlight for a long time (amethyst is one of these so keep that in mind!)
If you do not like working with crystals, think something works better for you than crystals, or simply are just not interested in working with crystals, they are not necessary for the craft! Crystals (like any other witchy tool) are optional but can not only provide useful energies or attributes, but also just look super cool and are great to put on altars or in spaces around your home!

Well, that's all for my beginners guide to crystals! There are so many more crystals out there with their own unique shapes, attributes and energies that I suggest going and doing more research as you start to collect crystals! phones love to go "do you want to clear up .3 GB by deleting these cherished pictures that you havent looked at in more than 30 days?" while also installing random apps and AI bullshit you didnt ask for. and you cant even uninstall half the apps
where's the jshk panel where kou's teacher is like "where's kou?" and kou's friend is like "he said he's in labour" and the teacher is like "HE'S GIVING BIRTH?"
I love how you can kinda tell the lifestyle the characters have just by looking at their rooms
Like nenes room is super cutesy and filled with furniture with hearts on them and plushies and plants
The skull with a dress! The Dino plushie!! Even her bin is aesthetic omg she has bedroom goals
We don't see a ton into aois room, but she clearly values comfort with the amount of pillows she has, probably to cozily read a bunch of Nenes loaned shoujo manga. And she's got a LOT of plants on her balcony!
Kou's rooms pretty neat, which makes sense considering he's basically the housekeeper of his family lmao
I find it kinda funny how he's got a globe and a map on his wall tho like is it to remind him where in the world he is or does he actually like geography ToT (certified geo hater here btw)
The MOST IMPORTANT detail I gotta point out is him keeping sousukes camera on his bookshelf ouhhhhdjdkeeojs they make me SICK
leading smoothly (not really) on the fact that sousuke has a bunk bed is very dear to me ok
Also Aida did not have to do him dirty with the English hw and photos to be developed later like HE CANT DO THAT ANYMORE WHY WOULD YOU TELL ME THAT TOT
The only thing I can really tell from how akanes room is depicted is that he has. A shit ton. Of books.
(which isn't remotely surprising lmao)
Bonus points for efficiency for teru not having a pillow on his bed!! We basically get nothing of his room so I'm guessing that there's not much except a bed a desk with a chair a small bookshelf and his sword
Also why on earth is his first reaction to being left out of a party is grabbing his sword? Guess that's the trainer exorcist life for ya
I can't really talk about the yugi twins cinsidering we only see their room (or rather amanes room) at 4 years old and it's quite traditional with a toy box etc... they had plenty of toys to play with at that age clearly
I do wanna add that the fact that baby tsukasa has so many toys probably as rewards from the pit god for getting people in the house MAKES ME AHAHRLRKRJRJ
i headcanon that amanes rooms probably not much different at 12 with the exception of way more space books
