I have, in previous lives (other sites), gone by the handles "pinkandglitterdinosaur" and "miniredhed". If you recognize either of those, don't hesitate to reach out!
Commonly used tags under the cut.
alright i'm gonna try to be more organized with my reblogs going forward so i've set up a few tags i'll be trying to use regularly (as needed)
"#the realism tag" -> a post that contains life advice or just something that struck a chord in my heart and i think more people should see before they die
"#internet history" -> dashcon, famous posts that impacted internet culture, memes that everyone has heard of, actual cool facts about internet culture history
"#history" -> posts about non-internet-related historical events and people
"#the tag where history is made" -> for when a big event happens irl and tumblr goes hog wild about it (is often paired with the following tag)
"#the politics tag" -> self explanatory. used in conjunction with the above history tag or on its own
"#poetry" -> not necessarily always actual poetry but oftentimes is
"#helpful" -> helpful links, research tips, discussions that might be useful to have in my pocket someday
"#the car tag" -> for when i learn something new about the cybertruck
"#dirt and holes" -> spiritual or religious stuff that resonated with me
"#i took anthropology class to read scifi" -> literature, science fiction relating to specific novels, science fiction not relating to specific novels, probably star trek too
"#wizard war" -> wizardposting
"#anxiousOCs" -> Original Character content
"#the institute server 2025" -> posts about or relating to a discord server I'm in
i probably won't ever worry about tagging the meme posts. this list will update as needed. please block these as needed
personally I am of the opinion that vegans who are like “the way our food system currently works under capitalism on a large scale is exceptionally cruel to all animals including humans and is not sustainable, so I’m doing what I can to make the most ethical choices available to me about what I eat and encourage others to do the same” are generally very reasonable people who I agree with in spades. but vegans who seem to think human beings are not themselves animals who are ultimately also part of the food chain but instead some kind of other paternalistic higher entity that can never engage in ethical and sustainable hunting practices (and especially the fringe I’ve seen who think other carnivorous animal predators are also evil and need to be eliminated) are people I regard as foolish at best if not actively anti-indigenous and racist
talking to offline friends about your online drama is good, because they’re like “not only does this not matter, but it’s actively pissing me off that you’re talking about this.” and then talking to hyper online friends is the opposite, because they’ll be like “omggg it was horrible, they dragged your corpse into the public square and everyone was taking turns pissing in your mouth!”
This phrase has already entered my vocabulary re: media criticism where like. The viewer has a concrete view of what they expect a story to be based on the tropes and cliches they're used to seeing together, and when that doesn't happen, they judge it as a failed depiction of what they assumed it was going to be instead of judging it as what it actually is.
"This show is problematic because the hero didn't kill the villain at the end": When does he steal the bread?
"These two characters who were close friends throughout the series don't kiss at the end! What the fuck?": When does he steal the bread?
"This feels like it's missing a conclusion! Like, the protagonist does bad stuff and because of a critical decision he makes as a result of his major character flaws, meets tragedy in the end! Where's the part where he learns better and brings is love back from the dead and becomes a good guy and gets a happy ending?": When does he steal the fucking bread??
Myth of the Brown Recluse: Fact, Fear, and Loathing Rick Vetter Department of Entomology, University of California, Riverside, CA
treat yourself to a uc riverside spider researcher rapidly losing his cool over the course of this article as he desperately tries to convince his interlocutors, The Entire State of California, that there is literally no evidence that we have brown recluses
That was a really fun read I love him just flat out challenging anyone to show him proof of the species in the state then going on to pretty much say ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT HERE
