I love humanity, it's just people I can't stand.

The thing is, I like to be alone, I find solitude therapeutic. Not just because I am an introvert (Although I can have very extroverted moments). When I don’t have enough time for and by myself, I can feel antsy, irritated and overwhelmed, and when I've reached the end of my rope, sometimes putting a knot in it just isn't the answer (pun intended). As a result, alone time is very important for my (and my family's) mental health and happiness. Regardless of how I spend it, time alone allows me to reflect and recharge. I enjoy my ‘me time’ fix. When I get time to be alone I indulge myself with the things I like to do and love, without having to negotiate. Getting away from others allows me to decompress and relax. It gives me a break from the have to's of my life and allows me to focus on the want to's. It gives me time to consider my needs as opposed to everyone else's and the opportunity to reacquaint myself with myself, rejuvenate and push my ‘restart’ button.
