Quick Things to do to celebrate Yule
if you are like me most likely you are stuck inside today and can’t really go out. Here are some things you can do to celebrate Yule
Do a 12 card spread Each card represents what the month of the year holds for you. The card on the bottom of the deck represents the underlying theme of the year.
Review something you’d like to renew or revive Especially if it’s a project or something you were working on that you put aside for a long time. Think about taking it back up today. If you are lost in this, you can ask your deck for help.
Make blessings for yourself or loved ones It’s a great time to send positive energy towards others you care about or if you really need it, focus it on yourself. This year we have the Great Conjunction so it’s a fantastic time for abundance spells and blessings
Play some music Here is a curated playlist for you
Make a “feast” Ok so Feast for 1 usually is just like a festive dish with roasted veggies and a nice dessert. Maybe make an easy roast, a pasta bake or a stew and top it off with a home made baked good and ice cream. Boom. Wassail.
Have a blessed Yule everyone. Hope this next cycle can allow for more freedom and growth.
Empath and/or sensory processing disorder witch tip, for when gungy sounds and voices are just all the fuck over you.
Guys.
Tuning forks.
My sensory overloaded, empathic ass just discovered tuning forks.
A nice clear A, right in the ear.
It fixes my shit instantly.
Holy fuck.
Tuning forks.
This is going in the traveling witch kit. I’m not even fucking joking.
To fellow eclectic practitioners:
I’m not saying that you should not participate in multiple spiritual systems, but it is important to keep your separate practices SEPARATE. Orishas do not have veves in Lucumi. You cannot use tarot to divine messages from the Orishas. Spirits who are similar in concept are not necessarily the same spirit by different names. Oshun does not have a chakra that she helps you align. Chakras are not a part of Lucumi, Vodou, Voodoo, or Hoodoo(however, some spiritual systems do have the concept of energy centers).
Ostara Preparation and Tips
Ostara is the Sabbat marking the Spring Equinox. For the northern Hemisphere, it will be on Tuesday, March 20th, 2018.
It is a time to celebrate the arrival of spring, renewal, and light. Quite similar to Easter, imagery of eggs and rabbits are used during this time to represent fertility and new life.
Here are some tips and ideas to help you prepare for Ostara!
(Picture is mine, stickers from Picsart. Pictured above is Supermarket Sabbats by Michael Furie and Oracle of Shadows and Light by Jasmine Beckett-Griffith)
• Preparations - Grab a journal and begin writing about activities you would like to partake in, spells you plan to do, and ideas for the sabbat! ✏
• Research - Research stories, traditions, and symbols of Ostara for use in spells and altar decorations
• Crafts - Dying eggs, making candles, and creating fun things like that are all fun ways to celebrate Ostara, especially with kids. This year I’m trying something new, an egg capsule. Ill store things such as a reflection of this Ostara, something I made, and other goodies for next Ostara. All in an egg! 🥚🥚
• Tarot - Do an Ostara spread or a spread about renewal and starting again. Spring is a time to blossom, so maybe a card pull about what can help you blossom with your craft!
• Go outside - If its nice out, go out and spot signs of Spring! Write it down and take pictures. Give the Earth an offering to welcome spring. ☀️
• Spellwork - Now is a great time for cleansing, renewal, inspiration, and creativity spells. Also spells to aid your plants! 🌱
• Spring cleaning - Thoroughly clean and rid of the stagnant air from the long winter. Spring is finally here, so let in a sense of freshness. Take the time to thoroughly cleanse as well to rid of bad energies, and bring in positive ones!
• Food! - Make a treat, something special just for Ostara. Honey and Eggs are typically used, as well as fruits and leafy greens. Use what’s in season, and make some honey cakes. 🍯🍞
• Altar - Decorate your altar with eggs, bunnies, flowers, pastel colors, and symbolisms of Ostara. Represent the light coming in and the balance of dark and light on the equinox. The visuals may aid you in your rituals.
• Cleanse yourself - Bathe, cleanse, and do face masks. Something to make yourself feel refreshed and as if you are a clean state. Ready to go into Spring clean and renewed, ridding of the stagnant energies from winter. 🛁
• Planting - Begin planning your garden, and start planting seeds! Its time for new life! 🌸🌹
These are only a few ideas, as always there is so much more you can do! I hope this sparks inspiration for your Ostara. Happy witching!

Ostara
Ostara/Alban Eilir
Ostara is the day of perfect balance between night and day, darkness and light, slumber and awakening.
Ostara is one of the Sabbats that make up the wheel of the year. Ostara is also known as the spring equinox. Ostara is the celebration of the season changing from the dark of winter to the brightened time of spring.
Ostara represents many things including being a symbol of fertility, new life, new beginnings and change. Things that represent Ostara are similar to things that represent the Christian holiday Easter. Eggs, rabbits, grass, seeds, flowers and light pastel colors.
Ostara is a great time to do spellwork involving improving communication, working on group interactions, fertility, and abundance. This is a great time to continue workings that you started during Imbolc.

May my gifts, time and energy be of value.
Today, while I am here,
May you accept my offering
As an act of love from me to you
And you to me.”
Ostara celebration!! (3/20/19)🌸
What is better then an Ostara that falls on the last Supermoon of 2019?!
With the arrival of March comes the promise of spring. Warmer, sunnier days have come! There are many different ways you can celebrate Ostara, depending on your tradition. Often, Ostara is seen as a time to mark the coming of Spring and the fertility of the land!
Spring is here!
The frigid cold of winter has been replaced by the promise of new life and growth. This is a season that offers a chance at fertility and abundance, rebirth and regrowth. The focus in Spring’s lunar cycles is that of the element of Water; along with the sun, water helps bring life back.
Supermoon?
A full moon is a time of increased psychic ability, manifesting ideas, finding stability in your decisions, celebrations, and renewing your commitments to people or other things. It’s incredible for magick of any kind. Now amplify that by a lot and guess what? Supermoon power!
Colors of Ostara
Traditionally, there are a number of colors associated with Ostara and spring; usually, it is a time of soft pastel shades! Colors like pale blues, faded purples, light yellows, oranges, and pinks. You could use pastel cloths or colors to drape your altar or any magick space!
Ideas to celebrate!
— Decorate with symbols of our animal friends— rabbits, who are a main symbol of Ostara!
— Watch the sunrise! It’s one of the many wonderful ways to reconnect with the Earth!
— Consider your own place in this universe. How do you fit into the grand scheme of things? What do you want to do with your life? Now act on it!
— Ever notice how much Easter focuses a lot on eggs? This is because eggs represent fertility and spring, and painting an egg is an enjoyable way to celebrate Ostara and Easter. You can decorate the egg with sigils, dye it colors of your intent, or even place them in a basket to use for decoration on your altar or table. Or with intent you could eat some for breakfast!
— Go outside and take a walk in the woods!
— Start something new. Spring marks new beginnings!
— There are equal hours of darkness and light on the equinoxes, so you can use this to your advantage! Decorate with balance themed decorations. For example; a white candle and black candle, a sun and a moon, or maybe two eggs with one being painted black. Once again, there are endless symbols of balance!
— You may wish to have background music or sounds when performing a ritual— water is a great choice! Let it be a trickling stream, a waterfall, or the waves of the ocean; you can use anything (water or not, because music like chirping birds, or literally anything you feel connected to at this time of year would also be great!).
— Ostara celebrates the beginning of a new life, and planting seeds is a brilliant way to represent that!

Ritual Cleansing Bath
1 c raw honey (To help draw in divine energy) 2 c whole milk (To summon protection) 2 bags chamomile tea (To aid relaxation/heighten receptiveness) 2 tsp lavender essential oil (Aids in opening one to the messages of the divine) Rose petals (attracts healing and understanding)
Preperation
-Bring 1 cup of water to boil and mix in honey until fully dissolved -Take off heat and steep tea for 5 minutes -Add milk and lavender oil -Fill tub with hot water ((but not too hot that it’s uncomfortable)) and add mixture and Rose petals -Relax in water for at least a half hour. Play soft music and light candles if you wish
Notes
This mixture isn’t just good for cleansing your mind and soul. Each part of it also has healing aspects. The mixtures can help calm an anxious mind, relieve muscle aches, and detox the body. You can also add Epsom salt to help with an achy body
I use this bath before trying to connect to the gods and it helps me a lot. Sometimes I will add some element representative of the god I wish to connect too such as a coin for Hermes or my pendulum set on the bath edge for Apollon and so on
Binding Ritual for aggressive people.
I’ve been gone for a while dudes and I’m sorry about that, but I wanted to give you a glimpse into my BoS for this spell. Binding spells are used to stop the actions of an aggressor and to bind them from being able to do one. This ritual is for aggressive people in your life.
*Binding spells are not a substitute for seeking help from authorities if necessary* Ingredients:
Two white candles
Cedar wood
pepper
Bayleaf
red string
a heat safe container
matches
Rose quarts
water
Before doing this ritual cleanse and center your space however you normally do. I turn off all the lights in my apartment, light the various candles around my alter, ground and then cast my circle. For this to work I find its important to enter the ritual with a clear mind and the desire to create positive change, not punish someone. You want to keep others from being harmed, not harm someone.
Light the two white candles, whisper your intent to them. Then place the cedar inside a fire proof container, I use a small cauldron. Take the bay leaf and wrap the red string around the leaf. Use this to invision binding the aggressor. Place the bay leaf and string in the pot as well. Light a match and carefully place it in the dish and let it burn. Chant: “With this fire I forge the chains that will bind you form causing harm”
Once the bayleaf is burnt use the water to carefully put out the fire. Place the rose quartz on top of the ashes and leave it there overnight.
Witch Tip
Pour the water used to boil eggs in a circle around your house or dwelling to ward off harm, illness and mayhem.
