Hello there! It’s been a while, I’ve been pretty busy but I had to present my gorgeous editions of Last Violent Call. I looooved this book and managed to snag an edition before it came out and read it right away! And then, my preorder of the US came in too 🥰 And I love them to death. They’re gorgeous, and such great stories. It made me happy and scared me and everything else. I’m currently on a book ban and I’m so happy that’s one of the last books I bought! A book and a puzzle! So basically this picture shows what I did on my 2 days off this week. Last Thursday, I spent the entire day puzzling and today, I spent most of the day reading. And I realized I haven’t read a book over 350 pages with my eyes in ages. I usually listen to long books. And I’m even less used to reading physical books these days. When I’m not listening to books, I usually read ebooks, mostly ARCs honestly. But it’s been nice to read this floppy paperback, even though I feel like it’s harder for me to focus on it? I think? Sortie du jour!!!! I’m doing this post about a French book in English, sue me 😬 This book came out today and I bought in before I got in to work and started reading it at work! I’m only a couple chapters in but I am HYPED! It’s great so far 🥰 So, my English speaking pals, I’m going to make you jealous now. This book is about Pandora, Medusa and Arachne teaming up to take their revenge on the Gods 👀👀👀 And it’s also very GAY as in lesbians. Today’s mail 🥰🥰🥰 Received these two beautiful books and a pin that says “protect trans lives” and I can’t wait to wear it to work. Also, I can’t explain it but these books feels like siblings to me. I really can’t tell you why cause they don’t have much in common (except being sapphic) Maybe it’s because of the UK covers? But, anyway, today was a meh work day but definitely a great mail one 😇 I loved both books and I’m so happy to add them to my shelves!! I read this amazing book back in September and I can’t believe I hadn’t posted about it until now. It is, simply put, incredible and just one of the best books you’ll ever read. R.F. Kuang is a marvelous writer and you’ll leave this book with your jaw on the floor. If you haven’t read it yet, you really should and then, you should go into Kuang’s backlist (like me atm) Also, I can’t leave this post without talking about this gorgeous gorgeous Illumicrate edition. Sooo I’m a little obsessed sometimes… (a little lol) I just love owning several editions of books. Hell, I had read this one before I even bought my first edition of it and it was so good, I figured I should get more. But honestly, it is truly incredible. I loved Chloe Gong debut series and I just have a feeling I’m gonna like a lot more of her books too. I cannot wait for Last Violent Call and Immortal Longings and Foul Heart Huntsman. I went to get a haircut on Wednesday (👀) then did a lil photoshoot with my super talented friend @manoncphoto (🖤) and then, we went bookshopping and I bought way too many books and here are the blue ones 💙 Three of those I’ve read and loved and the fourth one is a book I’m gonna read very soon as part of the 12 books 12 months challenge. I love love love this gorgeous edition of Ninth House and I’m actually halfway through a reread of it! I loved this book the first time around and I just had to read it again before reading Hell Bent! ☺️ Speaking of Hell Bent, I’m planning on buying it tomorrow, wish me luck! New edition!! The French edition of Ace of Spades came out last Thursday and I had preordered for a while. I could not wait. I’ve recently started reading manga because of work and colleagues. Okay, maybe thanks to? I’m having a lot of fun reading them actually. On the left there, you can see the series I’ve read. Some of them I’ve fully finished, some of them I’m up to date with, and some I’m only a few volumes in. They’re actually in the order I started them in from left to right 😇 The stack on the right are all the series I’ve bought the first volume of but haven’t started reading yet… 😳 Basically, I’m starting quite a collection and I’m feeling good about it 🥰 I’m also reading them in French so it’s helping with my French quite a lot, since I otherwise only read in English… Do you read manga? Just a quick post to talk about this book, my last 5 star read of 2022 and probably the best non-fiction book I’ve ever read. Buuuuuut it’s in French so I’m switching to French now, bye. J’ai lu Chattologie fin Décembre parce que @morgan.e_pa me l’avait suggéré. Et people, listen to your friends because they were so right. C’était absolument génial. J’ai ri, j’ai ragé, j’ai appris plein de choses et le livre était simplement captivant. Une vraie claque dans la face. Vraiment un livre indispensable que tout le monde devrait lire. Yesterday was pan pride day and nobody told me????? Smh But anyway, a little life story than some books, as always. Turns out I thought for years that I was pansexual, when I first heard the word and thought yeah that’s me. Then, I figured out that I was ace and panromantic. Took me a while but here we are. I came back from Edinburgh just a week ago. And it was as magical as ever. It was my seventh time there and I loved it a little more every time. It allowed me to learn some things about myself and it was also just the time away from work I needed. And also, I bought books. Of course I did. 🎉🎉🎉 *BOOK BIRTHDAY* 🎉🎉🎉 This beauty came out today. I was very super lucky to find it in a bookstore in Edinburgh last Friday and I started it the next day. I loved loved loved loved this book. I was dying to read it and I was right to. I loved going back to Bright Falls, seeing Delilah, Claire and Ruby again was such a treat but also, I loved falling for Astrid and Jordan. I loved their story, I loved their struggles. I laughed, I cried, I fell. I could not recommend this more (if that wasn’t clear) I truly felt like I was right there with them. So good. Today is the Transgender Day of Remembrance. It is also the end of Transgender Awareness Week (yes, I’m sorry, but for me, a week is from Monday to Sunday) I wanted to highlight books with Trans main characters/points of view. I have read and loved all of these. Today is for remembering the trans people we’ve lost which are every year too many. I honestly don’t have the words for how angry I am. This fight feels never ending. Trans people deserve better, we just all need to do better. I’m gonna stop there before this turns into a huge rant. Read these books if you haven’t yet. I have finally found my gorgeous gorgeous book. It had arrived almost two weeks ago but wasn’t delivered to my address without me knowing. But, ANYWAY, it is here and it is perfect. I am so so in love. I had read it twice before it twice before it even came out and I’m so glad to own it now.
