Ichabod Crane is sent to the village of Sleepy Hollow, where a headless horseman is leaving a trail of decapitated bodies. Ichabod’s investigative methods are put to the test, as a supernatural being can be the cause of the crimes.

Daniel Gonzalez, The Freddy Krueger Killer
Daniel Gonzalez was a serial killer who killed four people and injured two during a three-day killing spree in London and Sussex in September 2004. He was also known as the Freddy Krueger Killer as he was inspired by horror films such as Nightmare on Elm Street.
Gonzalez was born in England and was known at school to be a good actor and a chess champion but also 'dark' and 'troubled.' From when he was 17-year-old onwards he received help for psychological problems. By 24 he was abusing drugs and spending most of his time watching horror films and playing violent computer games. Gonzalez was obsessed with scary movies and described himself as being similar to the character Freddy Krueger. He expressed the desire to become a famous serial killer. Gonzalez's mother wrote a letter to an MP criticising the lack of help her son had received for his mental health problems, in her letter she rhetorically asked 'does my son have to commit murder to get help?'
On 15th September 2004, Gonzalez approached a couple walking their dog and told the man he was going to kill him. The man fought him off and Gonzalez fled to Hove where he stabbed a 76-year-old woman while wearing a hockey mask. The scene was stated to be inspired by fictional serial killer Jason Voorhees who also wore a hockey mask. After killing the woman he returned home.
Two days later, Gonzalez travelled to Tottenham and stabbed a 46-year-old multiple times in the face, neck and torso. At 7 am, he forced his way into a nearby home but was fought off after he stabbed the homeowner in the arm. Gonzalez kept attempting to gain access to homes at random. He eventually broke into one and murdered an elderly couple. He later described the appearance as 'orgasmic.'
Gonzalez was arrested on 17th September at noon after being seen running away from his final victims' home naked and covered in blood. While awaiting trial he attempted to bite himself to death and was viewed as so dangerous and violent that officers would accompany him only in riot gear.
Gonzalez was found guilty and given six life sentences and the recommendation he should never be released. He later committed suicide by cutting himself with the edges of a broken CD in his prison cell on 9th August 2007.
