{ – ✦ – } ░ It’s been many years since he was last in Johto, but even here isn’t safe from his Meowstic’s boldness. Goldenrod isn’t busy as such ( he’s seen far worse ) , but Quin is still uncomfortable here. If only it weren’t necessary to pass through here to reach Ecruteak… Oh well.
Of course, the feline is quick to escape his pokeball and dash away - never mind that they aren’t in Lumiose City, its favourite city to explore. Goldenrod is as good as anything else, it would seem.
“Columbine – !” Focused as he is on catching the Meowstic, Quin is too quick to run around the corner and promptly run into some poor stranger, stumbling back. “I just need to - Oh, come back here,” he says, his exasperation clear as the Meowstic rushes back to jump into his arms. Cheeky thing.
Only then does Quin pay full attention to the stranger, head tipping back to meet his eyes. “Apologies ; he’s… ah, quick,” he says, clearing his throat - and even as dark as it is, he fears the embarrassed flush darkening his cheeks is visible. “It wasn’t my intention to quite literally run into anyone -”
And of course, now he’s babbling. Wonderful.
“Ah!” It hand’t been the most exciting day of his life, but Max felt a pleasantness in the air and had decided on a stroll to clear his mind. Of course, he’d go to the casino later on, after the sun had been down for some time, but for the time being, he was happy to simply wander.
Today’s special touch was his dragonair, draped around his shoulders like an elaborate scarf, tail hanging behind him, nearly mixing with Max’s hair. At being run into, he stopped, Fortune immediately retreating behind Max, though up to then the tall man had been speaking to the dragon openly, as though they were having a conversation.
“Now, Fortune, no need to be shy,” Max said, bowing his head to the stranger gently. “Such politesse, but you have no need to apologize. I might’ve watched where I was going better. My name is Max, and this is-” he was nearly cut off by Fortune jutting forward, still draped all over the man but now curiously slithering out into the air toward the stranger. “..Fortune,” he finished, with a pleasant chuckle. “He can be temperamental, but really he just wants affection.”
The gambler additionally punctuated this statement by giving the creature a gentle but purposeful stroke along as much of his body as was extending out.
“Please, Fortune, don’t be so invasive. You don’t even know his name yet.”
Fortune only flicked his tongue at the stranger in response.
