People just seem to tell me a little bit about themselves that they would otherwise not tell anyone else.
I guess I'm just a trustworthy person.
There are little secrets, big secrets, not-so-saucy secrets, and very saucy secrets.
What's common about all secrets is that no matter how insignificant your secret is, you never want it to get to the wrong person.
I was never a limelight character. I was always overlooked at. I was basically invisible to everyone else.
But being invisible has its advantages.
In a group, you get to observe each and every person as they are listening to the one speaking. You can see that certain look that everyone gives to the speaker; the look of anticipation and curiosity.
I am currently suffering from depression. I will admit that it has made me a bit of an attention seeker. It kind of just appeared suddenly out of the blue and BOOM! I was taking pills here and there. I'm trying very hard not to think about death. So everyday in school, I'd go to the bathroom and cry silently about life, basically.
There's this hole in one of the cubicles where you can see what's going on outside. And believe me when I say I've seen a lot: junkies, hook-ups, illegal shit, you name it. I stayed silent for the most part. I wouldn't want to be some sort of whistleblower or anything like that.
But of all the things that I've seen, the one that really caught my eye was her. It was in the middle of the rainy season. As the weather was depressing, so was I. I was crying out loud so I was startled when the door open. I wiped my tears and peeped through the hole. It was a girl. Why was she in the men's room?
She was about 5 feet tall, more or less. She had a tattoo of a star on her neck. She had her hair dyed blue. She was very slim. She'd wear a leather jacket and skinny jeans. She wore boots to match her outfit.
I'd watch her stare at herself in the mirror and chant: "I'm strong. I can make it!" It was a weird experience to say the least. She started to become a regular in the men's room. She'd talk about her dreams of going abroad and seeing the world. She'd talk about the man of her dreams. And I was just there, silently watching her every move. I could never make out her face since she was facing back against the wall. I sort of had a crush on her. But the problem was that we were total opposites. She seemed like the kind of person who had her shit together, while I was losing my mind over the smallest things.
One time I watched her change clothes since she was soaking wet. Since I was a creep, I ogled at her body. Every inch was so perfect. It looked like she was made for me, like I was destined to see this girl; But only see. We were never meant to meet. I finally had the courage to come up to her. I opened the lock to my cubicle when she was terrified and ran. I ran after her and when I was out of the bathroom, she was gone amongst the sea of people. I never saw her again. I was hoping she'd come back, but she didn't.
And even after all that, I never even saw her face.
