"Did you think I wouldn’t notice you sneaking out?” -@thematriarchofhouseblack
@thematriarchofhouseblack
Narcissa flinched as she heard Walburga speak and gulped; slowly turning around. "I was hoping..."
“Are you going to tell me where you’re going?” she questioned, strict yet gentle, “It’s in your best interest to tell me, darling.”
“Or you’ll tell my Father?” Narcissa mumbled, knowing she wouldn’t approve of her sneaking out to meet with Lucius. Or approve of the fact that they were were going skinny dipping in the lake on Malfoy’s property, but she wouldn’t divulge that information.
“No,” she corrected, “I’d tell Regulus. And if you do tell me, I can ensure Cygnus doesn’t suspect a thing. If you do not, I can’t be certain your alibi would line up with the one I give you”

✖ : For a angsty letter.
@cygnusblackiii
To my second, abhorrent little brother,
I will never forgive you. You and Alphard ruined my life in ways you cannot possibly comprehend. For years, I wished my own little brothers to drop dead, yet couldn’t bring myself to cast the curse. Did you know that I had been practically bouncing off the wall at the idea of becoming a sister? Mother and Father can tell you, I was quite excited.
Unfortunately, this family managed to squash hope, that innocent little girl, in ways I refuse to allow my sons and nieces to go through. I will never allow you to do what you did to me, to Narcissa, Bellatrix, or even Andromeda. None, not even the bloodtraitor, deserve that fait. I don’t know why I write this as if you or Alphard have any sympathy or even emotions to speak of. Perhaps closure?
You never saw what I was like. You do not know the weaknesses I have. You are not here when my legs fall from underneath me, when my hands cannot even hold the weight of a cup. You are no brother of mine. The only family I have is gone, save Kreacher. Whom you will never see again. He does not deserve to feel what your curses feel like, what cruelty you are capable of.
I despise you. And I always will.

⚰ : For a final words letter.
@kreacherthenoble
To my dearest Kreacher,
My time is almost up. I am very aware of that. I cannot bare to leave you without parting words. You are too important for that to happen. Firstly, I want to thank you for what you have done for me. A friend, a father, and anything else I needed. You were there when no one else was, and for that, I am forever grateful.
My eldest may disagree, but you are family. And I am pleased to have spent my final hours with you. If you wish it, I have clothes you could take. To be free. You do not have to, this is no order. It is a choice. All I ask is that you remain safe.
You will always have a place in my heart in ways no one else will. I only wish I had been able to do more for you. I know you miss Regulus as much as I do. I have my pensieve. You are more than welcome to go through any memory you wish. No matter who it is about. I trust and love you.

☠ : For a threatening letter.
@abraxascoldasicemalfoy
(You had to know that was coming!)
Abraxas,
I do hope this letter finds you well, not that you’d deserve it. It’s a pity that my niece has such poor taste in men, but that is a discussion for another time. After all, she’s still smart enough o find you detestable.
If you touch a hair on Narcissa’s head, harm her or a child born by her in any way, you know full well what I am capable of. And I will show you no mercy. It is not important to me that you live or die. I can easily find a more respectable creature to enjoy in the ways I do you. You are not, nor have you ever been, irreplaceable. Far from it.
Make no mistake, Braxy. You are not in control. I am. Lest that fact be forgotten. I am not one to avoid confrontation, but you knew that already. So I will not repeat that. Instead, know that the moment you harm the ones I love, you must be, as Moody puts it, constantly vigilant. After all, I have connections of my own. Not to mention that I will hunt you down and what I have done in the past would be considered child’s play compared to what I would do.
Heed this warning, it’s the only one you’ll get.
-Walburga Black
@abraxascoldasicemalfoy
1. How does your character think of their father? What do they hate and love about him? What influence - literal or imagined - did the father have?
Walburga finds him detestable. However, better than her mother. She cannot find anything she loves about him, so the closest thing you are getting to that is she can respect his ability with a wand. Even that has a horrid history for her.
As for what she hates, his treatment of her as a child as a whole. But if I had to pick one thing, his encouragement when it came to what Cygnus and Alphard did to her when she was 18.
As for influence, he and her mother are at fault(to a point) for her own abusive behavior. Especially towards her sons. She also learned what she wanted in a spouse by looking at her father, and then wanting the opposite.
Headcanon + Kreacher
Kreacher was the first person to show her what love was. He was simultaneously a father and best friend. And as such, Wally will always see him as family

Walburga sobbed at what had just happened. Her younger brothers, four and five years younger, had always been sadistic little pricks and had certainly done heinous things in the past.
Yet, this was different. A step too far. Something that could not be taken back.
She could still feel the pain from penetration, what had only just happened. The girl had not even been aware she was able to make the sounds, both from fear and pain, that she had.
Tears falling, now that she managed to get out, even if too late, she cried, "Why me?"
Kreacher’s ears perked up when he heard Walburga sobbing. “Mistress Walburga?” Kreacher croaked, squinting a bit as his eyes adjusted to the light. He could see the young Mistress curled up in a fetal position on the bed, sobbing into her pillow. Her clothes torn, and he could smell blood.
He approached the bed, anger stirring in his chest at the thought anyone would be willing to harm a meme her of the Ancient and Noble House of Black. “Who did this to Mistress?” He demanded, hesitantly placing a hand on hers. “Who dared defile you?”
Kreacher's call surprised her. The house elf often did that. He and Orion were always sympathetic to her plights, offer a light in the darkness.
Forcing herself to sit up, unable to stop the flow of tears, but decreasing it, she gave a cracked smile. Both wanting to ease any pain he felt and just because he came. Someone cared.
"A-Alphard and Cygnus," she whispered as her voice cracked, still not willing to lie, "I-I couldn't get them off. They-they didn't stop."
Kreacher’s eyes widened in horror, then he clenched his fists. “Unless one is considered a traitor…” he said slowly after several moments. “Kreacher cannot bring physical harm to Ancient and Noble House of Black; not even to cause their demise.”
He snapped his fingers summoning a warm blanket and directing it to wrap itself around Walburga. “Kreacher, can however make Mistress more comfortable. Should Kreacher alert Mistress Irma and Master Pollux to the disgrace their sons have befallen on you?”
"I know," the eighteen year old admitted softly, knowing that at the very least, she was the most powerful of her siblings. It made this worse, but it also gave her solace.
Kreacher's comfort was what she needed. He was kind where others mocked. And why she ensured that when she married, he'd go with her. She'd never leave him with her siblings and parents. Not with knowing how they all are.
"Thank you, Kreacher," she said with a cracked voice, red eyes still brimmed with tears, "But Father would encourage them. And mother would punish me, tell me I shouldn't fight back. Just...stay with me, please."
@thematriarchofhouseblack
Abraxas smiled as he was summoned to the birthing room, where his wife was cradling the small newborn. “It’s a boy?” Abraxas asked, walking closer to Walburga. That was the only thing on his mind; he needed a boy to carry on the name. To carry on his legacy. No boy meant no heir, and therefore his legacy would perish.
He deliberately kept his tone light, acknowledging that Walburga might be tired from the labor. As long as she gave birth to a boy, though, he would allow her a reprieve. Maybe three months before they tried to produce a spare and make sure the line was secure. If not… she’d be lucky to get a week. They needed to get this done as quickly as possible after all, to appear strong to the other families.
"No, it's a dog," she replied sarcastically, before earnestly adding, "yes, he's a boy."
The screaming had finally ceased when the little blond baby latched onto her breast. Her strength had been sapped from labor. Lucius had proven to be a difficult birth, although him being the first child she'd had certainly did not help matters.
Walburga regarded her husband with a smile, allowing him to see the small child. No matter how much she despised the man, her heart swelled with joy over her son. And maybe, just maybe, Lucius would stop the worst of their fights. If he didn't, she internally shuddered at the consequences.
But no matter. She will do anything, everything, to prevent little Lucius from going through what she had as a child.
Abraxas’s stone cold heart swelled with pride. His first heir; after so long, between fights and trying to keep up appearances. Now, he had an heir. Something to be proud of in this wretched marriage; but this solidified that they had the purest blood out of all the families. They would be the most powerful family now. “Can… can I hold him?” Abraxas asked, his gaze lingering longer than they needed to on Walburga’s breasts— one of the things he found most fascinating about his wife. “I also believe we should hire a wet nurse. No pure-blood should be suckling a baby like the rabble.”
"After he's done feeding," she told him, Lucius happily suckling away and getting sleepy.
She placed a kiss on Lucius, her little one already holding a special place in her heart.
"We have no need for a wetnurse. Besides, it is a Black tradition to do this ourselves. Only give the child what is pure," she told him, technically not lying while also just wanting to breastfeed her tiny one.
Lucius does eventually grow full, and after being taken care of, Walburga hands him to Abraxas
“I suppose you have a point,” Abraxas muttered, conceding a bit. He’d rather not have a fight right now; not after the long and difficult labor.
Abraxas smiled as he took his son into his arms, stroking the little one with his finger tips. “Lucius Abraxas Malfoy, welcome home my son,” he murmured softly.
Finally after so long, he was blessed with a son. The boy would grow to be a strong young man. Of course, they would have to be very careful when they went out. He had enemies everywhere he would target the boy, try to bring his line to ruin— this the price to pay to be a Malfoy. “When do you want the visitors to start coming in?” He asked.
Walburga smirked triumphantly, looking down at the tiny blond haired baby as he was passed to her husband. At least for now, the little one would be safe, and she was content with that knowledge.
At the question, however, she paused. Alphard and Cygnus were no more to be trusted than Abraxas, who she only allowed for this was his son, her parents certainly aren't coming in either. She does not know enough about the likes of his family to say whether they would be safe.
"Orion and your father can come after we get settled. Everyone else stays out," she told him, "At least for now. It will allow us to keep up our image."
Abraxas nodded with a light grunt, stroking the little baby in his arms. Noticing the blue eyes and the beautiful blond whisps of his hair. “That’s fine,” he replied. “My father will be very pleased to hear that we have an heir to the line, even if he does have that disgusting half-blood with him. I’m curious though, why your second cousin?”
"Orion is far more trustworthy than my brothers," she answered simply, not willing to admit why that was, "And is far more respectable as well."
Leaning against her husband, still tired from the labor and needing to calm Lucius almost immediately after.
Besides, right now, he was in a good mood. Their little baby boy, without a flaw, was here. He's healthy and beautiful.
"As for your father, he best be. I think we can both attest that this was far harder than anyone made it sound," she grumbled

@cygnusblackiii
"Touch me like that," she threatened, "And you will not live long enough to make a single sound out of that abhorrent mouth of yours."
“Still bitter about childish mistakes of the past?” Cygnus asked innocently, although he stepped back slightly. Walburga had a hot temper, and he needed to be ready to fight back if necessary. “When will you learn to let that go?”
Walburga kept her eyes on her brother, realizing that now, as adults, she had the ability to prevent what happened so long ago.
"Childish mistakes of the past implies that while what you did hurt," she told him, practically seething, "it was, by all accounts, not one of the worst crimes you can commit. I have every reason to hold that against you."
“You would hold the fact I was thirteen and you eighteen against me?” Cygnus snickered. “That’s alright, Druella holds the fact that she was thirteen and I sixteen when I got her pregnant at first… though she lost that one for some odd reason. You women… you need to find a way to let the last the past go about these things. It’s not like it wasn’t ever going to happen to you.”
"My husband disagrees," Walburga growled, "Or need I remind you who it was that ensured my safety after the failed arrangement with Abraxas. Perhaps it isn't Druella or myself, but you? After all, even my youngest is quite confident that he would never do such a thing."
“Your youngest is weak,” Cygnus scoffed. “And your eldest is very strong-willed… too strong willed from my understanding. Muggle women on his bedroom wall? Clearly you aren’t fit to handle the boy. A good Cruciatus Curse is what he needs.”
"You will do no such thing," she hissed protectively, hand moving toward her wand, "It isn't effective. Perhaps I need remind you of your own little bloodtraitor? Or just how often Mother and Father would do such things to me? It never broke myself, why would it break the child of my body?"
She would never allow either boy, no matter how angry or frustrated she became, to face that curse. It's why Regulus' infatuation scared her so much.
"As for my youngest," she countered, "he is not. Regulus simply has the knowledge of when it is unwise to act."
Cygnus’s lip twisted at the mention of his own disappointment. “Something I plan to rectify at some point. No doubt she’s hidden herself well out of my reach. And I have no elf to summon to find her.”
He sneered at the Regulus comment. “Touch a nerve did I?” He asked, slowly pulling out his own wand. It had been too long since he had a good fight with his sister. “It doesn’t matter, my youngest knows what will happen if she mentions the blood-traitor ever again in the house.” A sadistic grin crossed his lips. “Since I’m stronger now, it will far worse than you ever experienced when we were children…”
“Obviously,” she growled, “Your methods are no more effective than mine, as we have an equal number of blood traitors. And your youngest and mine are quite similar. And Bella took after me. No matter how you look at the situation, we are for you, at best equals. But then again, that's giving you far too much credit."
At the subtle not to Kreacher, she truly hissed angrily. The sole friend she's had since childhood is not to be a simple weapon or spy. He deserved better than that.
"I doubt that, baby brother. I'm still older and more powerful. Compared to Abraxas," she sneered, "You are pathetic. And he is smart enough not to test his luck too much after what I have done to him."
