I haven't! & to be fair, internet confessions & all this to-ing & fro-ing is annoying. If there's cold hard evidence, yeah fine. MAYBE I'll just reconsider. I've been told I'm stupid as fuck for supporting a rapist... We're not supporting rape in the slightest by supporting him himself. There's nothing to prove he did it & I think people need to sit down :P GAHHH

why do feminists so radically support these alleged ‘victims’ when there is no evidence other than hearsay, in a majority of cases? by no means am I saying that we should slut shame or victim blame - because I would never personally do that. nor am I saying we should support rape, rapists or rape culture. but there is a very, very fine line between supporting victims, of any crime, and accusing the innocent of something they may or may not have even done. honestly, at the end of the day, none of us were there.

our justice system is flawed and there is no doubt about that. thousands of people are incarcerated on a daily basis. if we had all the answers and were able to decipher the guilty from the innocent, I believe that would really put a new perspective on society. of those thousands put in jails and prisons each day, how many are wrongfully imprisoned? defenders in this day and age have forgotten that we are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. people also assume that because he plead guilty to the lesser charge that he was essentially admitting guilt to the higher charge. cleeeeeeeeearly, a majority of idiots on this website, and the internet, in general, aren’t aware of how plea bargains work. if you plead not guilty to a bargain/lesser charge, it’s thrown out and you basically go back to court and stand trial for the original charge. so oops, sorry he didn’t want to go to trial when he is pleading not guilty to rape.

other than the ‘video confession,’ there is nothing. not one shred of evidence against curtis. nobody has heard this confession because it will never be released to the public if it does actually exist. but because jessi said it’s real, it must be true.

but on the same token, yes, curtis could have handled things more maturely than taking to twitter the way he did. though, when people were victim blaming jessi and sending her death threats, he defended her.

as I’ve said numerous times, feminism won’t change the facts or what has been done. I just find it vaguely comedic when the same people who bash others for slut shaming jessi are the same ones who bash curtis via social media. tit for tat? I think yes.

unless I personally hear this mysterious taped confession, or evidence surfaces in the case, I will continue to defend him because he is presumed innocent. until proven guilty. personally, I feel he is innocent based on my disgust with how she went about telling her story.

didn’t mean for this to turn into a mini rant but whatever. I’m a female who supports curtis. I don’t support rapists or rape culture. I’m sure the feminists of tumblr will insist otherwise. but just another friendly reminder: you need proof to put someone in prison for any crime you think they’ve committed.
