continuing doing some designs as I warm up to drawing again, the NightSun family! I really like Shinepaw

oh hey, I'm drawing again cause I have a new tablet after circumstances led me to sell all my old drawing supplies, and I've decided to finally finish the FernIvy family

I'm so very fond of my Bristlefrost design

so I've hated my Scourge design for awhile now so I decided to take another whack at it, I'm re-drawing the rest of the family too (tho I think Socks is the only other cat who's getting a new design) but I wanted to share the new scourge cause I like him

the BerrySparrow family! not quite sure how much I like my Berryheart design but I'm happy with Needletail and Sunbeam and they matter most to me (I felt like making them look pretty similar would be fun a long while back and I kept that idea here)

the SparkLark family!! (that is fun to say) I still feel a lil iffy with my Finchlight design irt her markings but I think if I keep fiddling I'll go insane

THE SILVERSTREAM/GRAYSTRIPE FAMILY!!! so.... I've been fiddling with Feathertail's design for like a super long time, I had this family like mostly finished for AGES but I think I'm finally satisfied with how everyone looks

you can compare them to my old designs here, I feel like you can track a lot of my progress through these guys, especially since I designed them 3 times before instead of only once or twice

oh yeah I forgot! when I went to re-design Frostpaw I also finished off the GrayMillie family because all I had left to do was Bumblestripe

still not planning to reading the new book but I'm getting the impression Frostpaw is possibly The Only (tm) protagonist of A Starless Clan? so, here's a lil redesign for her

ya know what I don't think I'm gonna be drawing their new kits until they become warriors, die, or the series ends... so here's the DoveTiger family!!

SquirrelSol Sparkpelt and Alderheart, as promised

I have conflicted feelings about Alder's design, but I really love how Sparkpelt turned out and tbh I feel she feels more Sparkpelt than my canon design for Sparkpelt

TBH I like the MothPool designs better, tho the canon ones are a lil older, but I'm still not really willing to budge (much) on my canon designs b/c that is simply how I picture them

yes I am aware that many of my design drawings are slightly uneven in the face and could benefit from me viewing the canvas flipped no I am not going to do that I am simply trying to get as many designs done as I can that's also why they're all in the worlds most boring poses

the SwiftAdder famiIy!!! I'm really pleased with these designs for the most part, which is nice because the first time I tried drawing this family I was so unsatisfied with how they all looked together that I never posted them officially

I've been meaning to ask! How do you pick the colours for all of the cats? Each colour palette is simply beautiful! They are all so easy on the eyes and compliment the designs so well.

OH MAN uhmmm, I don't know, in all honesty, like I do try to pick colours that I think fit with the 'vibe' of the character, and I put each individual colour on different layers so I can adjust those colours easier

oh! tho for lighter and darker colours I do suggest not just lightening or darkening the base pelt colour

like for alderheart here, his underbelly colours are a little bit more yellow than his base fur colour, and his darker markings start to lean a little bit closer to almost being purple-ish

I also reccomend playing with different saturations for different markings as well

I don't think I've posted Thistleclaw here yet but, here he is! anyway besides being darker his stripes are also more noticably purple cause I made the saturation on them higher

OH and my last thing is to never use straight grey for grey characters, I do like to use purple and blue but if you go into the yellow or green-ish blue greys they look a lil more like actual grey

uhhmmmm that's all I've got I think, for me it's a process that involves a lot of just messing around and seeing what looks good so it's a lil hard to explain

the RowanTawny family, a family I've never drawn before!!! Rowan looks so small next to his wife but like, he's not, he's a pretty decent sized tom, Tawny is just so tall

originally I was gonna do this family a lil differently, I think Tawny and Rowan are a t4t couple but unlike my hc for Redtail I imagine Rowan being uncomfortable carrying kits himself, so he and Tawny have a queen in ShadowClan surrogate for them, ...but I didn't want to take the time to figure out who would work well and I've decided my excuse is that maybe StarClan magically gives the kits Rowan's genetics anyways
