The Mitford Sisters

This blog is dedicated to the infamous Mitford sisters: Nancy (1904-1973), Pamela (1907-1994), Diana (1910-2003), Unity (1914-1948), Jessica (1917-1996) and Deborah (1920-2014).

Lady Diana Mosley, taken when she attended a London police court, where a man appeared charged with breaking and entering Lady Mosley’s flat at Dolphin Square. Lady Mosley is at present interned in Holloway Prison.

Hitler called her ‘the perfect Aryan woman’ whilst A family friend, James Lees-Milne, wrote of her beauty, “She was the nearest thing to Botticelli’s Venus that I have ever seen”. A whirlwind of lethal charm and steely intelligence. Although she played second fiddle to her husband, Oswald Mosley, British intelligence considered her the more dangerous.
