main character: this villain has killed innocents and destroyed multiple lives in a ripple-effect of death and destruction and chaos. only i can stop him before he hurts someone again, perhaps someone close to me. but in order to stop him i must kill him. if i go through with this.... doesn't it make me just as evil?

i understand that it’s like, there’s a ton of stuff happening in the show rn with jasper mucking around and shit, but i hope like…. they unbubble bismuth ASAP just for having the gall to disagree like that. she’s not putting anyone in immediate danger, this could easily be settled with a discussion.. even if they bench her, at least just have her chill somewhere, not sit in a bubble some more. like … argh!!!!!! centipeetle got unbubbled and is now chilling in the ship with her crew. lapis got out of the mirror, did her whole thing off screen. peridot was out of the bubble the same episode she was put in the bubble. all of these were much bigger, different cases than bismuth and like… no matter how good the next episodes are, it’ll be very uncomfortable watching them knowing “oh yeah bismuth is just trapped in a bubble back home right now. that’s… oh” but hey!!! at least lapis and peridot are So Adorbs watching tv together!!

So i watched the episode and Bismuth actually makes it very clear that she wanted to take it straight to the Diamonds so this means that all those posts about her killing innocents are null and void.

She was not going to use it on civilians or soldiers, she wanted to liberate EVERYONE from the Diamonds.

But Rose let her ideal of all life is precious and everyone can be saved/healed blinded her and because of HER thousands if not millions of Gems died in the war because she wanted to be the bigger person uwu

The episode would have been much better if instead of steven and bismuth fighting bc shes the angry black women and she’ll fight anyone, even a child, they had a discussion about how the gems they could potentially be using the weapon on are just foot soldiers following orders, and could also be liberated, and then they work together to make a plan to take it directly to the Diamonds and shatter them. You know, instead of invalidating her and making her the big bad unstable extremist who is just as bad as her oppressor :))) and then just poofing her and bubbling her away :)

Rant/Ramble about the Bismuth ep debacle

My bitterness will edge away eventually but honestly I won’t be stanning as much for SU as I used to. THis is like, the 4th time the show has broke my heart, and I was already starting to feel not as excited for it so it’s not so hard as the last times. But I’m still pissed as hell.

I love everything the show has accomplished that doesn’t suck and it has radically changed the way I approach story and character. That’s why all its downs hurt so much I guess, b/c the ups are just so good! What other show is there that even comes close to SU? But that doesn’t matter when it hits this hard I gotta say. This was so unforgiveably bad.

I was already isolating myself from much of the SU community, and now it’s just going to become incredibly unbearable. I’ve already seen so much hate for Bismuth. It’s so ugly.

i swear im so used to all of this i know exactly how it’s going to play out

first is the initial wave of anger directed @ the show and the crewniverse. many people (justifiably tbh) swear off the show etc etc.

lots of white lgbt people jump in to say how actually it’s wrong to stop watching the show because of its positive lgbt representation and steven universe will be the only source of lgbt representation for kids to ever exist in the present or future right?? so you have to keep watching and The Blacks just need suck it up. whether or not you choose watch a specific piece of media is again turned into a moral issue.

a few popular text posts go around with long comment chains and then finally someone from the crewniverse scurries to their social media account to say something ignorant, only to apologize for it within the week.

there’s a wave of “SEE??? THEY SAID THEY WERE SORRY” and then in a month everyone forgets the whole thing ever happened. onto the next episode
