I remember when my schedule was as flexible as she is
I realized that not every day and not every story can be amazing. Simply because that would make it lose its point. All stories are interesting, but not all of them are worth telling and that is what I realized today. Have been mostly on the train from Ventimiglia to Monaco, to Nice, to Cannes and as soon as I got off in Cannes, I knew that I had no money for this. In all three cities I took a dip in the beach and then I kept moving. The best beach in my opinion was Cannes, but not the main one, but one that is one train station further away from Cannes heading towards Marseille. I got off there by accident and discovered such a beautiful gem of an island. I have been on this train on my way to Barcelona understanding that I dont really remember any of the french that I learnt yesterday and the french that I do understand I cant really use that much (I can say smoke week everyday, but feel like its not the appropriate context). I wont be in barcelona for a couple of hours so here I am writing. This is not the story that you will remember, but its working for me. I love myself.
Eating pasta in the kitchen Like I'm in the mafia
After Rome I went to Pisa to check out the tower. I tried to take a picture of people taking pictures of people posing agains the tower, but turns out that the grass is closed off.. That is not just sad for me, but for the entire city. There is nothing to do there, and now you want to strip the tourist of the one fun thing to do. A word comes to mind, and that is inhumane. Probably not so bad, but still. After doing the tower (thats what she said), I headed to Riomaggiore to get ready for my Cinque Terre travel. After arriving in the hostel, I met Mathilda, an australian backpacker that was currently living in Copenhagen and was returning home in two months. She had been away from home since January. Sometimes I wish I could live somewhere else for six months, specially after the events that occurred later that evening. We ate dinner and talked for an hour or two about the most random things. Such a nice a person but we were complete opposites: She could not understand how I was doing my traveling so spontaneously and how she had everything booked months in advance because she couldnt wait to travel. From a certain perspective, I agree with her and I remember before actually leaving how excited I was, but I kept postponing the planning and always thought 'Yea, its gonna be fine'. To be honest, it has been fine and I have nothing I can complain about. I went to bed at midnight when the plan was to go to bed at ten. I woke up at six thirty in the morning ready to do the hike. My eyes and mind however were not really with me in the beginning, but I kept pushing through. I took the bus twelve minutes past seven and was ready to be in Monterosso by eight thirty. I got lost on bus to La Spezia because I did not really know where I was going. When I managed to get to the train station, it was eight thirty and a train to Monterosso had just left, which meant that I would have to wait until ten in the morning for the next one. Long story short, I did the hike during rush hour, when the sun was at its worst. Basically the worst time imaginable, but I pushed through here as well and figured that I could not really wait to do it again in the morning so it was now or never. I felt such pressure internally because my recommended this place to me specifically and really wanted me to take a lot of pictures so he could live vicariously through me. That is one of the things I find very strange about this trip; pictures. I dont mind taking them, but I keep thinking.. 'Who am I doing this for?' I am not personally in any of the pictures because I hate selfies and the large nose that appears everytime I take a picture. Also, I have loads of pictures of buildings and scenery, but I keep thinking; If I wanted to know what it looked like, I could just check google maps. Lastly, I am personally witnessing all these beautiful views so I dont need the photos, but I promised my family I would. Photographs would be much more fun if I was traveling with someone, because then you are not just capturing the scenery, but you are trying to capture the memories as well. A thought that I kept wrestling throughout the hike and all day was 'Whats next?' I was technically done in Italy and I did not really realize that apparently France is in between Italy and Spain. That is a whole country to cross on one night. I started looking for overnight trains simply because I was not finding any cheap accommodations or hostels to spend the night. There was an option for me to leave from Milan and wake up in Paris, but then I thought of how much of a detour it could actually be. My destination has always been Barcelona, and I dont feel like changing it. After a long dinner with wifi and looking at the map trying to figure it all out (life included), I managed to come to a result. From La Spezia, I was going to a city right next to the french and italian border called Ventimiglia. I would arrive there around midnight and the first train that left the city was at a quarter to six. Spending the night in a train station was not alien to me, and I really did not see any other option (Paying 60 Euro for a night in a hotel was not an option). From La Spezia I had to wait in a city called Genoa for the train to Ventimiglia for a couple of hours. I did not mind and started scouting the train station for young people who might be traveling as well. The contenders were few and after all these english speaking encounters I was having, I decided to switch it up and sit with Marion and Robin. They were from a city called Apu (Yes, I confirmed with them if it was actually spelled like this) That is on the border from Spain to France on the west side apparently very close to San Sebastian. We talked for a bit and then I noticed Robin was smoking something. Yes reader; it is exactly what you think and No reader, that is not why I started talking to them. I noticed it after I sat down with them. They were waiting for a train to Rome, Marion was a waitress and Robin was a bartender at a restaurant where they lived. They had saved a little bit of money and were going camping in Rome for a couple of days. We spent the time teaching each other our languages because their english was not so good, and my french was not so good. However, I feel ready to enter France and test my awesome abilities that I learned in those two hours. Before I left them to take my train I asked Robin if it would be possible for me to buy a little bit of hash from him so that I could have to sleep in the train station. He takes out his little klump, splits it in half and gives it to me. He says thank you for the company in french and that i dont have to pay for it. It was not really that much, but the gesture was priceless and I was eternally grateful to him because even though he didnt have that much, he wanted to share and to me that is the best kind of person. I left them to catch my train only to find out that it had been delayed for an hour. I used that hour to explore the city of Genoa that does not really have that much going for it. But, hey! I have now been in the city of Genoa, Italy and not just in the train station. On the train, I managed to get my own little cubicle where I rolled up and got everything ready in case there wasnt a private place to do so in Ventimiglia. I arrived in Ventimiglia at around 12:45 in the morning. Still had a couple of hours left. The train station was way more populated than I would have ever imagined. A surprising amount of people were scattered around the station both inside and outside sleeping in corners with their bags wrapped around them. Before I looked for my spot, I knew had some more urgent business to attend to; Looking for a safe spot to smoke in peace, because by past experience, the fact that I can smoke without any worries of people walking by or other nuisances is quite important for me. I walked around the station and did not really find much; I could have gone in between the trains and smoked there, but that just seemed dodgy all around. There was the idea of going away from the station, but that seemed even dodgier because I have no idea where I am or what I could encounter. I thought that the reality of the situation is that not a lot of people are awake at this point and honestly no one is really going to care. I was on the outer edge of platform one. I light up and take small concentrated puffs in order to maximize effect. Suddenly, I see a police guard walking towards me. Not only that but he is accompanied by a dog. My immediate reaction is to stump the spliff saving as much as I can and put it in between some clothes I have and hope for the best. They get closer and closer to the point where we greet each other. I feel my italian hello is really bad, but I am also very tired so I dont care. Turns out that I was smoking right next to the police department of the train station. I look behind me and I see two police cars. My intuitive skills are apparently not on point. At this point I dont really care and I see that the man along with his dog walk into a building. I take the spliff once again and light up. This time I sit down because either way, in worst case I could just throw it away; its not like I had any more on me. When I take my last puff the police officer with his dog walk out so I stump the joint and throw it in a nearby trash can. The officer passes me and the dog starts going towards the thrash can. All my fears start gathering and I think that this is the end. A bit of paranoia on my part, but still. The dog goes close to the trash can, smells it for a bit and raises its left leg to urinate on it. Relief! The effects of the hash kick in and I got very drowsy. Not before long I am asleep in a corner with my bag attached to my left arm, my jacket working as a pillow and my towel as some kind of sheet to no avail.
Three nights in Rome
I could rant on and tell you all about what I did in Rome, but the truly interesting part were always at night so might as well jump right in. Sunday: I arrived at the hostel at around 8 at night and my first impression of the hostel is that this is where people come to die and get kidnapped, but then again, I have had that thought about almost every single hostel I have visited in this trip. Honestly, you are getting what you are paying for normally and most of the time. There was a little common area that was hardly the size of a bathroom where people were kongregating and drinking. Mostly dudes and no dudettes, but I didnt mind. After some awkward small talk with the receptionist I see my entrance and get flowing into conversation. I am blending right in and its quite nice. The receptionist named Dave or Doctor Dave as he was later know for the rest of the trip because of his PHD in navigation and direction, gathered us all together and gave us the speech that I after the second night found out was his go to speech "Ok, guys! Just a few anouncements; Today is a very special day in Italy that is called National, Nonhavesexday" Everybody laughs because apparently we are all savages ready to start an orgy in middle of the street. I joke, but some of the fellows and even the girls were showing major signs of thirst. "No sex in the stairs, no sex in the common area, no sex in the bathroom". One girl yells out "Well that is just boring, where can we have sex?" and he quickly replies "Oh ok! This girl is the exception, she can do whatever she wants. She is the sexception" The girl receives a standing ovation and cheers from all of the guys. That is not creepy at all. We head out a whole gang of us to do some sort of pub crawl aand we stated walking aorund the great city of Rome, not really knowing where we are going. Oh by the way! I am just going to be throwing out some random names here, please dont pay attention to them unless I mention them several times, but its just I want to show my impressive memory skills of name learning. You as a external will probably not really know who any of these are, but for those who actually accompanied me during these travels might see their name and be all like "ey! I am mentioned!!" because a namedrop in my blog is really the goal isnt it? The sexception girl or as she was also commonly named Alexa, was guiding us through the streets and looking for a bar. She became the group leader because she was the only one who actually spoke some Italian. We found out later that night that she was literally blowing smoke up her ass and was just mumbling. I dont know if i should feel stupid or embarassed. After several bars we arrive at this local pub where ten of us sit down. I speak to some Italian girls that turn out to be under 18 (I mean, really? Do is just attract jailbait?). As soon as they told me their age, I started slowly drifting away into the other table. Another reason I moved away was because someone had found the ganja (I hate that word) and naturally, my body was going towards it. I dont really understand where it came from, but I know better than to question it. As the night grew older, the crowd became smaller. The ratio was about 4 guys for each girl. I am not really for a gangbang, and generally my purpose on these trips is not to hook up, but that did not stop everyone else. You know that awkwatd moment when everyone is paired up and its just the rest of you guys who are walking behind the couples. That was the story of me and Canadian Asian guy. I know I recently just bragged about my ability to remember names, but I have been trying forever to remember Canadiasian guys name, but unfortunately it is not appearing. Doesnt really matter because he disappeared quickly after and Simon started showing me how much of a G he is by rapping (slurring) a bunch of Kendrick Lamar songs. I did not hate because I was appreciating the effort. I arrived in my room and was trying to be really quiet, but apparently when you try that. Everything else just wants you to be really noizy. After I got undressed and ready for bed, I took a moment to contemplate how much of a fun night it truly was. The unexpected twist and turns it made was really memorable. Monday: Yet again, everyone (although a new crowd this time) was drinking in the common area. Newcommers included Max, Emily, David, Bowen and my guy Johnny! Oh wait, actually there was also Lockley and his dad Brett. A good group and after getting kicked out of the common room, Bowen from London tells us that he has been told by Dr. Dave about this crazy club on the other side of the city. We had all been drinking quite a bit, so we all thought, "why not?". First the dilemma was to find out how to actually get there. Actually, long story short. We ended up in this suburban area where we had no idea where the fuck we actually were. We walked around for 20 minutes and tried to figure out if there even was a club nearby and we ended fiding a shop. The saviour of the night was the kebab. We all bought each ours and shared some nice personal moments on the bus back to the hostel. The sad part about living in a hostel is that chances are that you will not see these people again the next morning. It is like a really open minded one night stand in the same building, only that in most cases (most, not all) there is no sex involved. Tuesday: After a long day in Vatican city and eating some pasta with Liam and Emiliy, we went back to the hostel to take a powernap before the beginning of the rest of the night. We all agreed that we wanted to take a chill night, because of the nights before. That did not happen. We ended doing another pubcrawl with Dr. Dave. This time it was actually really fun. We were greeted in the first bar with absolute vodka shots for everyone. We were a large bunch of about 20 people so the greeting was not bad at all. After that my night was saved when I learned that the pub accepted credit card, simply because i had no cash. Julian was my guy. If you have ever seen season 9 of How I Met your mother for one reason, then he was my Linus. As soon as my drink was finished, I raised my hand and Julian brought me a drink. That is an excellent recipe for drunkeness. We ended staying there the whole night playing this silly drinking game and talking to each other, laughing and creating memories that would hopefully last longer than just night. We returned to the hostel and I played the "let me show you this song" game that I basically just play alone. The premise is basically, you explain to me a little bit of how you are feeling and I try to find music that will soothe you. I consider myself good, but its a two way street. The more specific or the more details, the more accurate I can be. The third night was the perfect ending of three nights in Rome to me. I have noticed that its not really about the country or where I am. Its mostly about the hostel and the people you meet, because truth is, most things are just more fun in company.
Following up
Turns out that Rimini was simply the perfect place for a break. I can already feel that my body is getting exhausted. I do not know how people who are carrying even more stuff than me and traveling longer than me are keeping up. All to each is own. Woke up early this morning and decided that this was the day I was finally going to Rome. I kind of feel like Rome is the place was truly meant as a pit stop for me. I feel like there is so much for me to explore there and also, the fact that I will be able to take class with the likes of Ian Eastwood, Brian Puspos, Megan Batoon and none other than Mr Jun Quemado himself. I remember him being the first ever dancer that I booked with KDM to come and teach at House of Dance. He was the beginning of everything and even though it did not really go as well as I had hoped, I didnt mind because I got a taste for it and I was hooked. Sounds like drugs, its nothing like that. Drugs give you a better result that organizing will ever do. I have decided to only do one day of classes because I am not my hundred and classes are so expensive. Its so strange to pay for class after so long, but I guess im just a little spoiled. Before I arrived in Rome, I tok a little break in Florence. The texans that I had met had told me to visit this place if I had time and I decided to make time. In this quaint little restaurant I met this older couple from San Francisco. The first encounter with the woman was quite awkward because she walked into the common bathroom on me while i was without a shirt drying myself up off all the sweat. We rolled over it and it was quite nice. They were fascinated by what I was doing and the fact that I was travelling alone. I mean, dont get me wrong, I do understand that it sounds strange to some, but to me I just couldnt imagine it any other way. I remember talking about this in a previous post about how I could just have travelled with anyone simply because I see it in the eyes of the people that I have met that traveling alone seems like the best way to go. They are already tired of the people they are traveling with. Ah well. I bought a first class ticket to Rome because it was the same price as a second class. This is luxury. I dont know why I havent done this before. I mean, there is even legroom! And the scenery is somehow better from this view. I wish I could tell some fun story that has happened to me, but to be honest, these last couple of days there has been a lot of things bothering me that I havent been able to focus properly, but now that is hopefully behind me and I am ready to meet some new people at the hostel. I want to learn, no i want to explore, thats not right either.. I want to experience Rome the same way I experienced Budapest and I am doing the same thing that I did in Budapest. Gonna sit in the common room and talk to the people that look the most interesting. To be fair, I did the same in Rimini, but those girls did not break out of their own circle and the music was way to loud. I was not in the mood for a screeching match between them and me. There was an offer to go to a foam party, but then I remembered I wasnt 15. PS: I need new clothes. These are drenching in sweat and I feel like washing them will not help anymore
The Beach is not really that fun when you are alone
After Zagreb, I arrived at Ljubjana. A beautiful city that a co-worker had recommended me to visit. I arrived there quite early and was ready to explore how truly beautiful it is. I came there and.. Well it aint all that, but it is really lovely at the same time. The square that had a specific area where it rained. The castle in the middle of the city and the insanely high amount of dragon souvenirs that you could purchase. he looked like a green version of Puff the magic dragon (I remember him to be purple.. Is that correct? Or am I thining about Barney? So many dragons to remember) After some park sleeping after eating a at a wonderful mexican restaurant (that is me all the way. Hit a beautiful country to eat something from another beautiful country. Maybe when I am in mexico , i will eat indian) . At the same time I was trying to figure out what destination would be next and how I would get there. Turns out that Venice was next in my plans but the train did not leave until 9 PM and I would arrive there at 3 in the morning. This did not sound so appealing so instead I wanted to take the one that left at midnight and I would be there at 6 in the morning which sounded way bettetr than the other one. Problem was that I was stuck in a city that I had basically explored all ready in the morning and wasnt that keen on exploring any more. I read somewhere there was going to be a cinema under the starts which sounded really nice, but unfortunately the movie did not start for 3 more hours. I laid down on the grass, took out my phone and searched: ´How to get marijuana in Ljubjana. Several options came up and I looked through the most popular one. Apparently there was this hostel right next to the trainstation where you could most likely get your fix on. It was on the other side of town, but I had no mind and thought that it would be a little fun adventure which it turned out to be. I walked back to the train station and pulled out my phone. Battery is dead so that means that this next part of the endevour is going by asking people where it was. First guy I asked told me specifically where it was and I apparently had been going right the whole way. Before I even got to the hostel, around the corner there was this suspicious looking fellow with several tatoos all over his body in the corner exchanging something with another guy with their hands. It felt pretty right to go and ask him about some tips on where to find that good ol endo. We went to a place. I gave him 10 euros and that was that. DIdnt see him again and didnt really want to either. I came back to the train station, got my bag, rolled me one and was ready to relax. and relax I did. But not for long, because I felt like waiting in this train station until midnight did not really sound like a good idea and sleeping at a hostel sounded way safer. Those feelings of insecurity and a bit of paranoia maybe drove me to the conclusion that I was taking the 9 o clock train arriving in Venice at 3 in the morning was better because then i could just sleep in italy instead of Slovenia. No prejudice, but Slovenia was getting really cold. I took the first train and sat next to this girl. I always try to sit next to new people, its not my fault that they all happen to be girls. We started talking and I remember distinctly she told me that she had just arrived from a date that had gone her words ´Just ok´. I asked her what she was studying or what she did and she told me she was 16. Now dont get me wrong. I dont mind taliking to someone who is 16 or that it is wrong, but the more I tried to keep the conversation going, the more weird I felt. Asking this girl about kind of movies she liked, what books she had read made me feel like a creep. Like I was trying to get to know everything about her in some obsessed way, and she wasnt really helping on talking back so there you get an impass. I faked nap for a while until she left which then in turn turned into a real nap. Several hours (or minutes?) later I wake up to two other girls from Ireland waking up in the seats next to me. They are going to Bologna and are from Ireland. Valerie and Kyra (I feel like that is how you would spell her name, but she pronounced it like Keira, but please correct me if I am wrong) who were so nice. We ended spending loads of time together and even sleeping on the train together because both our trains which was essentially the same one but different destinations got delayed for 10 minutes, then it got delayed 20 minutes, after that it was one hour, and finally 3 hours until it arrived. There was this norwegian couple that I also met who seemed really nice, but it just reminded me of why I did not want to travel with anyone. It was nothing against them, but it seemed like the girlfriend had planned the entire trip and they were surprised of the way I was doing it. I dont know, it was just eye opening for me. Long story short, I ended up arriving in Venice at 8 in the morning where I spent the day exploring, looking for somewhere they did not just sell pasta or pizza and took a bunch of pictures. One thing I will not forget is how narrow some of they alleys were. I could imagine doing a very creative video shoot over there. Oh the dreams. After Venice, I rolled me a spliff in the bathroom (which reminded me of the time I rolled me a spliff in the bathroom of some naval museum in New York) and got on the train to Rimini. I had been informed by my American friends Nathan and David that Rimini had some beautiful beaches. Yet another train delay, but this wasnt as bad. Some many hours later I arrived in Rimini and checked into the hostel. Finally a place that has internet in its rooms and a charger where you can plug in your phone! Oh, the simple things. In Rimini, I went to the beach in the morning and swam in it for about 10 minutes until I realized how awkward it is to be on the beach alone. Maybe not awkward, but just boring because the beach is mostly only fun if you are with someone. I mean, there was of course the opportunity for me to sit in the sun, but that did not seem like a me thing to do or that I even wanted to do. After that I went back to my room and am pysching myself up to wether or not I will be going out tonight. not going out seems like a very me thing to do, so I guess I should do the opposite?
Demon days
Demon Days While I was in Budapest, I met two guys that taught me about Blurr and Gorillaz and their connection. To be honest, I have only heard that one popular Blurr track that I believe is called "Song nr 2". Well turns out that the lead vocalist of that band simply decided to create a virtual band and enter Gorillaz. I remember listening to their classic songs like Clint Eastwood etc, but it wasnt until I was in Colombia and the release of Demon days came out where I truly became a fan. Their concept and the idea of a virtual band was so new and creative. It pushed boundaries and that spoke to me. Anyway! Point was that today I have been listening to this album while I have been walking the streets of Zagreb and from Budapest, I had been told that I should visit a place called the museum of Broken relationships, which I did. It is a tragicomedic place where you can donate your story of an ex and an item that reminds you of it. Some of them were very sad that ended in death and others were hardcore that ended with an axe. I wanted to donate a story, but I do not believe that mine are as interesting to be in a museum. Also, I noticed that most of these stories were told from a perspective of the person that got broken up with. My story is a little different and I am actually not the victim at all. I am not looking for compassion or sympathy, because I know what I did was wrong, I like to blame it on being young, but maybe that is just something I tell myself to feel better. It was the summer of 2011 and I was in Manchester during a summer camp. There are a total of four camps during the summer and each last two weeks. I was planning on doing one of them and working on the other ones, so basically spending my summer working in a dance camp which was a lot of fun. The first camp I met this girl and here name for the sake of the story is going to be Dani. She was from Sweden and she was so beautiful. I never thought in a million years that she would ever look at me in that way and to be honest, I dont think she did either. We spent long nights just listening to music and showing each other songs. She introduced me to Bon Iver and some other amazing indie artists that I still listen to this day. We even created our own playlist called ´Dani is the best girl forever and ever and ever´ that I still listen to. I have it on private because some people might think that it is because I still have feelings for her, but really its because that music reminds me of a such nice summer. I remember one of those nights, the girl next to my room barged into my room and yelled at us because were talking apparently very loud. She must have been tripping on something because we were not talking at all. We were just believe it or not, looking at each other and smiling for the longest time. The day she was going to leave I was sent on a pickup mission to the airport to get a girl from Holland that was doing the second camp and I remember running through everything to make sure I got to see Dani before she left. I gave her my word that I would be there when she left and there was this moment where I got out of the car, completley forgot to help the Dutch girl with her luggage and saw that Dani was getting in her car, she was already late, but she had stood there waiting for me. We hugged and right there and then, I felt like my life was complete. Weeks passed and I got working, She was back in sweden and even though we talked it wasnt really the same. One day she said that she wanted to be my girlfriend. I was scared and afraid that I wouldnt be able to recreate the feelings we had during summer, but I said yes being hopeful that it was going to be even better. I lived in Norway in she lived Sweden, how hard could that really be? From that day during camp we were boyfriend and girlfriend. I cheated on her several times during that summer camp and I didnt even feel bad. I remember thinking that this wasnt even serious because she is in a completely different country and it doesnt matter. I bought a flight to Sweden to visit her after summer camp which I did. As soon as I saw her, everything felt perfect again. I started feeling horrible what I did, but at the same time I knew that telling her wouldnt amount to anything. When we got to her apartment, she went to the bathroom and I got into super stealth and quick mode and trying to make it romantic. We looked at each other and I remember saying these words exactly "I dont know what this is, but I think I love you. This thing I am feeling is not just a crush, it is so much more. You give me so much more". She reciprocated the feeling and said that she felt the same way. I left for Norway a couple of days later and we were good again. Time passed and we skyped as much as we could, really trying to make this long distance worked, even though it was a pain, but we were comitted. We went to London one time because it was cheaper than me going to her city or her coming to mine. After London I met this girl that lived literally two blocks away from my house. This was at the point where long distance was really taking its toll. And then you had this other girl who was right next to my house. The contrast was to large. Feelings started arising with me and this new girl, but we didnt not anything. I still felt like I was cheating because I was spending so much time with her and even though we were just talking. After a while I told Dani what was happening and that I didnt really felt it was the right timing. It was horrible and breaking up with someone through the phone is worse than face to face because at least then you can hold them. You feel helpless and like a terrible person. Me and this other girl got together afterwards, but it didnt really last. She broke up with me saying that she just didnt feel like she was good at a relationship and didnt want to be with anyone. I remember thinking that with her it wasnt so scary to be in a relationship. She was the first girl that I ever thought that with and exactly at the time when I was so sure of our love, she was having second thoughts. Much like Dani was towards me I guess. A few weeks after we broke up, she got a new boyfriend. I am sure she had her reasons, but the only thing I could think was that in some twisted way, I got exactly what I deserved and it was a very ironic poetic justice for the way I acted towards Dani. A few months later I drunk called the other girl and her boyfriend answered. That was awkward, but I just laughed and shrugged it off. I mean, what can you really do if you cant laugh about it?
THE TIME I FORGOT TO PRESS POST AND THE ENTRY GOT DELETED.
The title is pretty self explanatory and normally I would just skip it, but this day in budapest turned out to be one of the best to date so I refuse and will instead write the cliff notes. - Woke up so hungover - Went to the history museum in Buddha. Learned about Hungarian history - Walked for about 3 hours, sweated through all my shirts. - Put my clothes to wash and completely forgot about; when I came back they were dried and folded. Thank you guardian angel - Was at a ruin pub and got sweetly hammered. Tip to all you jaeger drinkers, try something called Unicom. - Meet some people from London. - Got a chance to talk about my BTI project and it made so happy. - Met a guy from holland that was in Oslo during the July 22nd attacks in 2011. That was surreal. - Woke up hungover (again) - Went to a bathhouse, which is basically a large swimming pool, but in that heat, it was completely necessary. - Took a train to Zagreb. The train did not have air condition. It broke down halfway. We had to take a bus to another station. - That is where I met Amy; A beautiful girl from California and I fell in love with her for 30 minutes. Only 30 minutes, but those 30 minutes were complete bliss. Secretely I have always wanted to meet a proper girl from California that is really tan and has those deep eyes that mezmerize you. It was beautiful the entire experience, apart from two british girls trying to join in on our conversation. ´Jesus, cant you see we are having a moment?!´ We probably werent but it didnt matter, because like me, Amy was travelling on her own and something about that made her so cool. She read her 1948 novel by George Orwell and being a die hard Animal Farm fan, I thought that to be very attractive. We got off the same station in Croatia, but I did not want to ruin the experience by asking her for her contact information. Its like a kiss; the best part of any kiss is the anticipation and the build up. Everything after is good, but as good as right before lips lock. Thank you Amy for this exchange. I found a hostel in Zagreb and right in front there was this cosy restaurant where I enjoyed some catching up with a special person. Clearing the air, because in the distance so much smoke arises.
