Ooooh👀 you know, it’s funny, I actually had started writing a two parter fic about the proposal , but unfortunately I’m not sure when or even if I’ll ever get back to it :’) im happy to summarize for you!

Copia spends a long time trying to find the most perfect ring, something Alena wouldn’t even be picky about— yet to him, no less than perfection was acceptable. When he does finally find one, he becomes very eager! This all takes place shortly after he became Papa, yet before his facial surgery 👀 btw.

He plans a romantic date for the two of them on the night in question , a fancy dinner followed by a moonlit walk. For the most part it goes well, aside from the fact that he’s very noticeably nervous. Way more than usual.

Now— I might be about to over explain myself here, but I want to make sure this makes sense to those who haven’t read my fanficion before! The location that he proposes in, it’s one that’s very significant to the building of their relationship in Dear Red Biretta. An abandoned playground lost and overgrown within the woods, it’s a place Copia goes when he’s depressed or can’t sleep, a coping mechanism to remind him of some of his few good days during his childhood. Throughout the story he ends up sharing this with Alena, it’s a big part of them becoming close and him allowing her a glimpse of his vulnerable side.

He hadn’t really meant for it, but this playground is the location they end up walking to. At this point, they hadn’t been here in several months. It takes Copia so long to work up the nerve to finally pull the ring out of his pocket, but after a long conversation he eventually does— proposing to her in the same spot they had their first kiss ☺️

I’m curious, was Copia very antsy and nervous when Alena was expecting Irene?

OH BOY WAS HE!!!

👀 in my mind it was somewhat of a process, starting with mainly excitement in those first couple of weeks. But as time went on and it became more and more real, it DEFINITELY turned from excitement to anxiety and anticipation. Veryyyyy fussy over Alena, too, wanting to make sure she was always properly cared for ❤️

—poor guy though, funny enough, despite how prepared he tried to be, he ended up not even being present when she went into labor 💀 (as I’ve mentioned before) . Oops!
