How did you pick your name snark?
Pat:One day Stefan was going for a long walk, half way through he got a bit tired, as it was a hot day, so he decided
to take a rest beneath a palm tree. As he was sleeping a coconut fell and hit him on the head, for the next month the
only words Stefan could say were Coldplay and snark. So as a testament to Stefans strength through rehabilitation we
decided to call our band Coldplay. Unfortunately that was already the name of internationally recognized band so we had to name
ourselves snark in the end...
Stefan: I actually thought of it in the shower when I had an epic hangover. So pretty close.

Pat: Tasteful pop-punk.
Stefan:catchy, occasionally epic pop-punk!

Who were your favorite bands growing up?
Stefan:I've always loved bands like blink-182, Angels & Airwaves Greenday and Jimmy eat World as well as other stuff like The Cure and The Strokes.

Stefan: The espy earlier this year for me. A few things went wrong, Matias threw his only pair of sticks halfway across the stage mid-song
but everyone found it pretty funny and it was just a whole lot of fun, which is what we kind of go for.

There has been a few member changes since we first came together. So to keep it short, I'll just keep it to the current lineup hahaha
I met Taylor a while ago now and we started playing in a band together for around a year and a half and glen was kinda
just always around as we were high school friends. So then myself and glen started playing in a few bands together before we found Oh Wanderer.
Then jimmy came along after our old guitarist left. But we've known jimmy for a while now, so he was an easy fit.

Do you have any future plans for Oh Wanderer?
Hopefully have a few shows before the year is out. And we will just continue to work on some new music which will hopefully be out early next year. -Glen

Myself, Josh and sharpie have known each other since we were 13. Josh started writing songs 2 years ago and then we just made a band out of it, we then picked up our drummer hickey who was also great on the plough and then Roman as 2nd guitarist who just left the band.

How did you pick your name Myyth?
I remember Jordy and I were talking about names, and we were thinking we wanted something short, something one word. Then I just came out with that and we agreed very quickly. It’s short, interesting, memorable.

Who were your favourite bands growing up?
For me, System of a Down defined my early teens (I’m sure the same goes for the other guys, too) before The Mars Volta came along like a revelation and changed my musical brain forever.

Jordy is studying stuff at Uni. Ryan is a wanky Graphic Designer type. Andy is kinda studying Sound Engineering and also hanging out with Rupert Murdoch. Jonathan is a government drone.

What's been your favourite show so far?
That’s tough. We have a lot of fun at all our shows. Recently we played the Fresh Entertainment Battle of the Bands and I guess that was the first time we played in a big hall which was tons of fun. Lots of space to move around, and we get a lot of enjoyment out of playing to a crowd that don’t have a clue who we are.
What is your biggest inspiration as a band?
Definitely the opportunity to just play with a group of your closest friends and doing what you love. I’m sure we all have pipe-dreams of touring the world too, so that could be inspiration in itself.

Myyth rehearsals always include a dedicated tea break. Lots of tea. We’re pretty rowdy.

Q- How did you guys settle on the name Oedipus Rex?
A- While looking for a name we came across Freud's theory, the Oedipus Complex. After some searching our bassist at the time Daniel came across a play called Oedipus Rex, which is short, punchy and punk as fuck. Also, a dude killing his dad and fucking his mum? Done.

Q- Who were some of your favorite bands growing up?
A- I grew up listening to country music and some classic rock, because that's what my parents listen to. The music I started listening to by myself was Linkin Park, Avenged Sevenfold and a variety of local bands. - Shane
The first punk band I grew up listening to was The Offspring. Other bands I was into when I first started taking interest in music was Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Outkast, Slipknot, Mudvayne. They were probably some of the first. A lot of classic rock and Gold 104.3 was involved in my life because of my parents too haha. - Josh
I grew up with a pretty mixed taste of music when I was a growing up. As a kid is was all about The Beatles , The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Small faces, Fleetwood Mac, Dire straits etc. Although threw punk music there was the offspring, rancid, madness, the clash and old school misfits (Danzig era) bob Marley ahhh there's just too many to mention. - Matthew

A- I mainly listen to local bands, I believe we have an amazing scene. Some of my favorites would be Jack The Stripper, Trainwreck, Break The Wall, Jurassic Penguin and Closure In Moscow. Also The Playbook! - Shane

Q- How did you guys meet?
A- Josh and I went to school together, so Nathan was included in that package I guess, and we found Matt on Melband. - Shane
I never knew any of these guys until my old band With Lions broke up...yeah was a lame metal core band haha. I remember going into melb and for a few hours and saw Josh's post about a drummer.
Called him up we had a prac etc and that was that. I didn't even think for a second that this would kick off so fast!
Q- Do you have any plans for the future Oedipus Rex related or not?
A- We're currently working on our EP, once we get that out, we're gonna have an absolute banger of an EP launch with some of our favorite bands, then hopefully just play gigs relentlessly and play a few more interstate shows, maybe even plan a small tour.- Shane

A- It was my favorite show to date, besides our split EP launch. The Adelaide scene is amazing, everyone just goes nuts and appreciates hardcore so much more than in Melbourne, we felt so at home, let's just move there boys! - Shane

It was a house show with a bunch of friends, so it was actually a lot of fun! After only just picking up our vocalist Ben we were sloppy as all hell because we hardly had enough time to practice the songs, but it was great to just be playing to people again
- Best show?
At Bang! With Feed Her To The Sharks, Exposures, and Young Lions. The club was holding a onsie night, and all the bands got dressed up and the room was packed! Was just a really fun show.
- Worst show?
Would have to be at the Ferntree Gully Hotel in 2011, playing to a few drunk idiots and our parents because we weren’t allowed in without them.

I don't remember the exact date but it was about 5 or 6 years ago.

It was very scary to say the least. i guess the first time going on stage in front

The best show for me to date would have to be the Sydney leg of the
Soundwave Festival. Having grown up going to Soundwave i never expected to
play a festival I had watched so many of my idols play before and to add,
The reaction we had from a home town show was indescribable.

I don't think there will ever be a worst show, like sure we have technical
difficulties from time to time and other minor problems but at the end of the
day we are hanging out with a bunch of mates and awesome fans doing what
we have dreamed about doing. Where's the bad part in that right!

As a band I'd say two things fuel us. One is being the best band we can, always
bettering ourselves. if it be with Gear, personally or as a whole.
We want to be the best band we can be and that in itself fuels us to do what
we do.
Cliche as it sounds but the fans and supporters are also a big part of what fuels
us, there is no better feeling then playing at home or in a different state
and country and seeing how our fan base has grown and how many people
support what we do and message we send.

Our first ever "show" was a house party on a farm. It was late December 2009 and it was really fucking hot.
- How was it?

It was not a great show. I think Andy and I (Beau) had been jamming with our old guitarist, bassist and original drummer for maybe a month before the gig we probably had like 5 songs and for memory our old guitarist cookie had a guitar string break mid set and the PA cut in and out haha I still have footage of it on my computer somewhere!
- Best show?
Our best show would probably be 2012 battle of the bands in our hometown Narre the vibe was just amazing or playing plastic with Deez Nuts at the start of this year was really cool as well.

- How was it?
It was awesome, we all love The Annandale as a venue so getting to play our first show there was pretty rad and we had a good turnout.
- Best show?
I'd have to say there's been 2, supporting Norma Jean at The Hifi and then recently Bleeding Through at The Manning Bar. They're both bands that we've been listening to for many years so to get an opportunity to play with them both was something special for us.
- Worst show?
Probably one of our earlier shows which was out at St Marys.

- What is your ultimate goal as a band?
Get the opportunity to tour the country and hopefully overseas. Record a killer album (or many) that people enjoy and just continue making music as long as we can.
