Saw a tweet saying that people only want Fran to be bi because they can't fathom a female character not being attached to a man and I just... y'all truly have no idea what the scope of bisexuality is for women. Y'all think it's just "girl takes tick and sometimes kisses girls" and it's extremely weird. Like genuinely, take your hatred for men out on men, not other women.

Fran can be a lesbian. Fran can be bi.

It doesn't and shouldn't matter beyond a desire for a specific kind of representation. Personally, I'm just happy to see some gay shit and it's an added bonus cause its a black woman at the center of a romance on a popular show. I genuinely had no interest in watching Bridgerton at all and and the thing that got me to sit through 3 seasons was a twitter gif of Fran meeting Michaela. I seriously was that easy 🥹 but I didn't care if they were lesbians or bi and I still don't, but y'all can't go a singular day without talking about a sexuality you clearly have no understanding of. And I'm not even gonna play myself and try to explain the nuances of attraction when it comes to bisexuality, cause my intention would be for people to understand, not even to change peoples minds, but there's no room for that. All queer women belong to one group and one group only and nothing can exist outside of that apparently.

I genuinely thought we moved on from the biphobia and we were just gonna enjoy Franchaela and geek tf out about them but half the Franchaela posts are biphobic rants 🥴 fandom gon blow up in flames before they even kiss

We don’t really know what fran is (and personally i think they’ll always leave it up to interpretation) but saying watered down to comphet is crazy like there’s any lesbian comphet stories on tv, also they definitely did not change anything about Fran’s personality just to please a minority of sapphics 😭😭 you’re think they’re doing that for 100 gay girls on twitter or are they just not the best writers?? I just think these takes are unfair.

not sure about the quality of your reading comprehension but that is exactly what I said, specifically referencing peoples perception of the characters. Y'ALL water down every single female characters same sex attraction (canon or not) to being comphet and THAT is getting boring. characters can't just be bisexual, they have to be comphet lesbians, according to y'all. y'all even go as far as erasing a characters sexuality by purposely taking what a writer or actress has to say about it out of context cause y'all can't go 2 seconds without calling bi characters lesbians

again, not sure about the quality of your reading comprehension, but I never said they changed anything about her personality, I'm saying they'd remove all complexities and interesting parts of her story to appeal to the people who are only interested in the fact that she's gonna kiss a woman.

and lesbians are not a minority in sapphic fandom spaces. they are, in fact, a very vocal majority, and they have a weird habit of claiming characters that are not meant for them while alienating the sapphics those stories are for. THAT is unfair
