Dreams - Fleetwood Mac
Now here you go again, you say “You want your freedom”
Well who am I to keep you down?
It’s only right you play the way you feel it, but listen carefully to the sound of the loneliness like a heartbeat, drives you mad, in the stillness of remembering what you had, and what you lost.
and what you had.
Thunder only happens when it’s raining.
Players only love you when they’re playing.
Say “Women, they will come and they will go.”
When the rain washes you clean, You’ll know… You’ll know.
Now here I go again, I see the crystal visions. I keep my visions to myself.
Stephanie Lynn “Stevie” Nicks penned a song. A song with lyrics so simple yet hauntingly true. Stevie Nicks is a prolific American songwriter who beholds a contralto vocal tone that makes her sound unforgettable. Although, as a solo artist Stevie has sold over 120 million albums worldwide. She is best known ultimately for her work with the band Fleetwood Mac, whom she joined in 1975.
“Dreams” remains to be the only U.S., #1 hit for the group, Fleetwood Mac. “Dreams”, was the second single released from the 1977 album “Rumours” which ultimately produced four Top 10 singles, was certified Diamond by the RIAA and sold over 40 million copies worldwide.
Legend has it, the members of Fleetwood Mac were all going through emotional and trying times in their romantic lives when “Dreams”, was written. In my opinion, it is one of the most moving songs ever written of love when it is in the painful stages of upheaval. Simply timeless.
"The greater the ambiguity; the greater the pleasure."
