Hooded Eyes

Friend A, B, C...: I don’t know how to apply makeup on my hooded eyes.

Me: I can try!

Friend A, B, C...: No, it’s really hard. My eyes are super hooded.

Me: No problem, I’ve done it before, I can do it for you! ( Frantically scours YouTube videos on tutorials with one hand, as I pull out the eyeliner with the other hand).

Growing up with mostly Asian friends ( Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese) and now having lived in Korea, I hear this quite often. But what I see one people’s faces...looks great to me! 

Back in the states I would do makeup on my friends, with hooded eyes, but since coming to Korea...I surprisingly have only done makeup on those with double eyelids. 

I’ve started watching a bunch of new tutorials to remind myself of what not to do. Mostly because I don’t want to appear as inept as I have become when it comes to doing makeup on double lids. 

Attempting it tonight on a new friend, and will see what happens. ㅋㅋㅋ
