So without even knowing it, today I wrapped up the 2nd wave feminist movement in class for #nationalwomensequalityday and after work Ryan and I took Major to the dog park and Pet Smart for a new, well deserved bone and birthday treat long over due (7 months to be exact). Yay #NationalDogDay!

While I was starting my third week of school, Ryan was beginning his first day working with the city! I am so proud of him making it through the difficult interview process and impressing his boss from the beginning. #ThankYouLord (at Grand Prairie City Hall)

As much as I loved Jordan, it feels soooo good to be back. My sweet husband spoiled me with countless things and we celebrated my return and birthday with my family, even my Maw Maw alllll the way from Baton Rouge! #MatchingShirts #IForgotIHadAHouse #SoThankful #NowtoTeach!

Been doing the #OolaChallenge this month and today's spoke to me like my devotional did... #longpost Some people think that whatever pops into their head is what they have to think about. That’s a recipe for disaster. Thinking is a choice. Just as you exercise control over your body and how you behave, so God expects you to exercise control over your mind and what you think. You choose your thoughts the same way you choose to forgive or choose to say yes to Christ. It takes your will to say yes, and then your actions must support that choice. The Holy Spirit gives you divine encouragement and empowerment to think the thoughts you have chosen to think—His thoughts, not ours. At this point your emotions will scream like a little child because they are used to controlling your mind. So here’s what you do: Find the volume knob on your emotions and turn it way down. If your emotions don’t agree with the Word of God, then they are speaking lies to you. A commitment to Christ is not about how you feel. It is by faith. Inside of you is a faith muscle. Just like any muscle, it takes time and practice to isolate it, flex it, and feel it working. Soon you realize you’re gaining strength. Your feelings and emotions will take notice. Your desires, attractions, and opinions will actually change. When the devil sees that you’re serious about kicking him out and choosing your thoughts rather than entertaining everything that comes into your head, he will probably try to make a deal with you for partial control. But there’s no such thing as a peace treaty with the devil. You can’t say, “My household serves the Lord,” while you’re renting a room to the enemy in your thought life. He’ll never stay put. There’s no way to rent him a room without eventually giving him the whole house. As the Word becomes the biggest part of your thought life and dialogue, you can begin to go after those binding thoughts and false beliefs that the devil wants to use to keep you enslaved. Get God’s perspective! Serve an eviction notice to the enemy! Make a firm commitment to choose what you think!
