It's no secret dating in the 1980's VS dating in 2016 is very different for many reasons. It's a new game with a new play book that you need to know.

DON’T EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER SAY THIS TO A GUY.  If a guy says this to you don’t respond with OH MY GOD ME TOO!  Let him be the affectionate one.  You don’t have to have a nasty response to this but just don’t be naive.  Take every thing a guy says to you with a grain of salt in the beginning.  A lot of guys know exactly what to say to get what they want and that is why a lot of women end up hurt and confused.  If he says something as sweet as this roll with it but not at the same level. You don’t even necessarily have to acknowledge him saying this.  In this situation it is best to.. 1) Not jump to answer right away.  Let him think for a second.  Make his palms get sweaty!  He is used to the girl that says OH MY GOD ME TOO! 

2)  Don’t be the predictable girl be the mysterious one that makes him think. When you do answer..( if he didn’t double text our of nervousness)  you change the subject.  “I can’t get you out of my head!” Throw him a curve ball and say something so generic about anything else.  I probably would say something work related or something in the media like, “ I’m dreading covering Trump tomorrow.”  This confuses him completely and he’s going to answer you.  If he doesn’t you do not double text!

The best way to make sure you avoid feeling like your life has completely changed is to still house separate lives. Your significant other have their own life, you have your own life, and you both have a life together. This doesn't mean cheat and going a different name. This prevents the feeling of a huge chunk being gone from your life. This prevents you from losing touch with your friends and losing touch with yourself and your own needs.

Dating?

Probably the most confusing word of all time for your generation.  Our parents were much more fortunate with the lack of technology and social media.  Dating was simple.  They had the basics; they met their potential mate through a friend, out and about or maybe they even were working with them at some point.  In order for someone to see the other person again they would have to physically call them.  There wasn’t a cell phone so they could text their potential person.  Things were just so much more personal.  If a guy didn’t call you didn’t have to see him “like” a girls picture on instagram meanwhile he’s ignoring your text.  Anyway, I’m sure you already know all of that and clearly you are reading this blog post because you haven’t had the best of luck.  Many people believe that their isn’t any rules for dating.  Unfortunately there kind of is..  our generation especially has the grass is always greener disease.  Guys and girls are always thinking that they can do better and there will be someone else just as great as the person they have right in front of them.  No one wants to settle down at the age of 25.  Not everyone obviously but a majority of us “millennial’s” don’t have marriage as a main goal at this timeframe of age.  We are just trying to keep ourselves a float; we are trying to have fun and create memories all before we settle down.  Times have changed and it’s time you drop those relationship books that cater to older men and women.  It is possible to find the love of your life on Tinder, Bumble, or whatever dating app you choose to possess.  It’s all a matter of carrying yourself to portray that you are the girl he wants to love.  Following these simple and at sometimes hard to do rules doesn’t make him fall in love with a different person.  However, following these rules still allows him to meet the real you and fall in love with no one else but you!  The new rules of dating allows you to set boundaries, be the girl he wants, and not the girl that is easy to get.  In other books they suggest you be a bitch!  You don’t have to be mean to fall into mutual love with the guy you want.
