It just makes me really happy to know that all of this time I was right with the Casper A Spirited Beginning NOT being a canon addition to the original Casper movie. The fact that Steven Spielberg rejects the so called "sequels" and begged the original actors not to do it says a lot to me. Also hearing how it hurt them and him on how they were trying to change the past they were developing for The Ghostly Trio and proves to me that the canon for the movie is they are all related. Actually, related, actual family. I love that! It's just nice to have some confirmation after 30 years of it (the movie and other movies) being out there.

Something else we found out on the live autograph signing from Joe Nipote/Stretch's VA is that besides a whole scene with the human versions of the ghostly trio, was that he did one of Brad Garrett's lines for Fatso! He had everyone guessing which one. The line he recorded for Fatso/Brad Garrett who was absent at the time was: "Are we scary or what?!" . It did make it into the film and is the one we have all seen/heard. We found out he was cast as Stretch because they loved his audition due to the fact he told one of the other people to "Shut the hell up!" in his Stretch voice because they kept taking his line. They told him that's the attitude they wanted for Stretch. The last thing we learned was that he and the other voice actors, Joe Alaskey and Brad Garrett were asked not to take part in Casper a Spirited Beginning or the others that followed. Steven Spielberg asked them himself. So they didn't and he agreed that the movies sucked and they quality of the animation was low compared to what they'd just achieved. Not to mention, they changed the whole back story for Casper and the Uncles they were creating! Joe Nipote thinks that the original is the best and doesn't seem to like the others. There was supposed to be a Casper 2 but it never happened and instead we got the other movies so far.

i DO believe that a good writer can make mischaracterization work. oh there's a character who doesn't normally cry? figure it out!! dissect the character. make the situation cryable for them. make that character cry ugly tears even if it goes against their very nature. YOU CAN MAKE IT WORK!!!
