Flying Lotus - Phantasm
Flying Lotus latest installment is done by the multi talented Mark Hofko. Its surprisingly shot on a canon 5d Mk ll using mainly a Zeiss Sonnar 180 f2.8 lens (and other lenses), considering how quality the film was produced it was done pretty cheaply and very well.
In translation it seemed as if this dark creature wrapped in linen was life beginning amidst a wasteland, the calico was a a chain holding itself to that life, as you can see when the entity let go it vanished into thin air. The shaggy creature is its agent, a kind of drudge or retainer of life, a four legged counterpart of this scion of energy that is released by the shadowy black cloth. As it lets go of this cloth and releases itself the four legged creature comes back and returns it to its former umbra of textiles.
"and protect the fantasies? no matter the cost? increase the transparency. total data loss."
An extremely well drafted film by Mark. I hope to see some new material from him soon.

Curtis Harding had a breakthrough after recording this 2 song EP with burger records and immediately went noticed by soul enthusiasts all around. Early seventies east side inspired soul is making a serious comeback with household names like Charles Bradley, Michael Kiwanuka, Andreya Triana, and the newly beloved Curtis Harding. He keeps it soul inspired while taking influence from burgers rock-n-roll/psychedelic/garage rock/ lofi roots. Check his new album coming out next week titled "Soul Power". If youre feeling impatient and/or already have a spotify account you can stream it from there.

Featuring Coco O. from Quadron, Noelle Scaggs, and some of LA's finest musicians including Burt Bacharach (trumpet) we have the pleasure of hearing one of the best covers of "Walk on By" I have personally ever heard. Check it.

To be honest, I never really was into Kid Cudi. Like a lot of people who had listened to "Pursuit Of Happiness" I listened and thought it was OK . Big mistake. This was really because I just never got around to listening to his discography, until recently. Dino (the other admin) told me that Kid Cudi just dropped his new album "Satellite Flight: The Journey To Mother Moon" and that I should really check it out. It took me back, it was good real real good. This was honestly one of the most experimentally well produced hip hop albums I had ever heard. This song in particular really got my attention and set the stage for my new love of Cudi. Classic. Check it.

Queens, NY native PMatic has released his latest track "Champions" featuring Dinero Baggs. LL Cool J took notice when PMatic was 13 and signed him to his "Rock The Bells" production imprint, but unfortunately the company folded before any music was released. The latest track "Champions" is sonically sound with a 90's boom bap feel and showcases legendary east coast flavor.
