the prominent oc for my writing for this is a funny dragon with no real name because they're pretentious and didnt want one, i'll append their design for this here soon but enjoy a sketch of their default look for now

they're a version of a character that exists in my big boy work, i just realized one day that they'll give everyone in this anime a headache and couldnt resist.

they dont do gender so i rather you dont call them a man, most any neutral set of pronouns will do, they just dont personally enjoy being called 'it.' if you're struggling to pick they/them will just do fine.

Greetings! I know that this is one of the first posts you made on the matter, but you said that Laura had a PSI biting force of 10K. And as a casual enthusiast when it comes to some animals, that raised my eyebrows because the strongest bite in the animal kingdom is the saltwater crocodile's, which comes in at 5,300 PSI.

Is her bite due to the sheer werewolf musculature of that form (that can be chalked up to just 'lore' reasons) or is it more to do with her musculature in general as the shape of the jaw and the muscles have a lot to do with how the PSI works. I'm sorry if I'm nerding out here, but I'm genuinely interested in your answer.

TEEHEE yes i did make research on bite forces and I'm very much a huge animal nerd.

It's mostly due to the sheer size of her wolf form which is basically a T-Rex (who had a supposed bite force of around 10-35k PSI though the answer varies with sources honestly) with fur, and the supernatural strength and resilience she has. Now, it's also important to remember that she IS a supernatural creature and keeps her unnatural strength even in her human form despite not matching the musculature, like how Alucard and Seras aren't walking muscle tanks despite being able to lift gigantic things pretty effortlessly, so it's better to not really expect a pure biological explanation outside of "plot bullshit".

Laura's bite force is about 25 times stronger than a normal wolf's, and her muscles are indeed extremely resilient. Werewolves have not only toughened skin but also their muscles are much denser than a normal creature's. Laura can bite through things effortlessly without any harm to her jaw or teeth due to that. It is much easier for her to bite in wolf form due to the wider range of her jaws though, even if chewing is easier in human form.

a read on Integra as a character I find fun: she is her own kind of monster

while I enjoy all the more direct takes on her greatly,

[ big fan of "most human person around(in the worst way possible)" and "very human in a way that shows humans are also a kind of monster" and "innately human but lacks 'human' qualities" in particular ]

and there's a lot to play with as far as keeping/giving up the humanity goes...

I also like the idea of taking what's been thematically implied with the iscariots being considered human while the only person that'd agree the major is human is himself. and, of course, with Seras's transformation only taking full effect once she's understood some things about herself and with Walter's slowly taking effect in the background as his ideological backbone failed

I think I enjoy engaging with the text personally the best when someone's monsterhood is not a primarily physical state of being. It's primarily a state of mind.

and, funnily enough, while eventually being influenced by the vampires' state of mind works, while staying human despite everything very compelling, I think if we wanted to apply the story's loose logic to figuring out a kind of monster she'd be (it's a deeply vibes based story after all) I think it's kind of unlike her to allow for it to be from outside influence unless she has a really good reason. I mean if it didn't get to her at age 12 it sure as hell wouldn't as an adult.

I think if she were to become a monster? It'd be her own kind of thing. Even if you feel like you want to stick to vampires she'd be her own new fresh flavor of messed up.

Personally I enjoy though? It coming from the very root of the environment she was born into and grew up in. A world of decisions rooted in influence, not morality. No trajectory in life to take from the very start but that of a leader of a shadow organization that burns through troops like kindling. The kinda company that'd callously suggest a nuclear bombing in the middle of a populated continent.

What I'm saying is.

I think a knight is a kind of monster too.

Not even so much for a moral reason as much as just. nasty honestly. like eating a pig thats been fed steroids day before sale, stuff comes through in the taste and texture. last time they've been like. outside their situation was in the late 80s-early 90s but they wouldn't eat a modern human either

even without the microplastics, humans put so much gross shit in their body, they do not get their human boss's cannibalism fixation thing at all.

easier, cheaper, and faster to just get a lamb dish somewhere which is close enough. They don't envy the vampires in that regard. And a living human technically 'feeds' them more over time than eating one would

but then again, the vampires probably don't envy their perception-fueled existence either

there's room. there's room in their lifespan to go through the full cycle of trauma-denial-anger-healing should they be so well adjusted or at least some of the way through it

and then it can just happen to them again

took decades to relearn to enjoy existing? took a lot of effort? Too Fucking Bad!

and they now know the signs, they know just How Bad the situation is without the dubious mercy of obliviousness or being "used to it" from growing up in the environment or from gradually getting used to it.

They know what's being done to them now and if they're for whatever reason unable to leave or stop it, they'll be aware of the slow decay of their psyche against the things they thought can't hurt them anymore.

Because in a world where people barely acknowledge someone can even live after surviving incredible violence, they sure as fucking hell don't tell you it can happen twice
