Nando through the years…
A few days ago, Sergio did a little Q&A on his Facebook page. Someone asked about Fernando and if they’re friends as always. This is Sergio’s answer.
“We’ve known each other for a very long time. He’s not just my teammate, he’s also a very good friend of mine and I’ve been lucky to share great moments and sport successes with him. I wish him all the best (when he’s not playing against us, obviously)! hehe”
For those who doubted Sergio and Fernando were still friends
Q: What about you and Fernando? Are you two friends as always?
A: We’ve known each other for a very long time. He’s not just my teammate, he’s also a very good friend of mine and I’ve been lucky to share great moments and sport successes with him. I wish him all the best (when he’s not playing against us, obviously)! hehe

SERNANDO
I’m tired of reading the same nonsense over and over again about sernando: that it’s over, that Sergio acted badly because he didn’t comfort Fernando when he was crying (actually, he did, it just didn’t happen on camera) and so on and so forth, so I’m going to clarify some things.Â
FirstÂ
After the final whistle, the first thing Sergio did was to approach the Atletico players, ALL of them. Including Fernando, obviously. (x)
 SecondÂ
“Sergio treated Fernando very badly, he pushed him to the ground!” More nonsense. That isn’t true at all. Fernando did the same, and I’m not saying this to criticize him. A yellow card was shown to both of them because of this. And btw, Fernando is always more “agressive” towards Sergio than Sergio towards him, but that’s ok because when the match ends, they’re as friends as ever. For 90 minutes, they’re rivals, it’s normal. But then again, you can see they way Sergio acts towards ALL the other teams’ forwards and then compare it with the way in which he treats Fernando. He barely does anything to him when they play on opposite sides. Do you remember Kun, Falcao, Costa? He always ended up arguing with them, but never with Fernando. When Sergio confronted Juanfran during the final, Fernando was just besides him and he could have defended his team mate but he didn’t. He was silent. maybe he didn’t want to fight with Sergio. Also, it was a Champions League final, not a friendly match, not a costume party so that Sergio and Fernando would have been talking and laughing after the match ended. We already got that in the spanish NT. Sadly, Fernando won’t probably play there again.Â
ThirdÂ
“Sernando is over” I’ve read a lot of comments like this in the last few days, and I wonder why. What did you expect of a UCL final? smiles? hugs every five minutes while they’re playing the most important match of the whole season? Did you really expect that? We’re talking about the Real Madrid’s captain and the biggest Atleti fan I’ve ever seen, so no, it wasn’t the right day for that. It was a day for playing and doing it well, as Sergio said “if we have to kill each other, we’ll do it and there won’t be any problem” That’s why this final has been the most difficult one of my life. I was never happy about it because of sernando, because I’m not delusional and I knew this wasn’t like training with Spain or a walk for the city before a match with the national team, I knew we wouldn’t get a million pics of them together. I’ve never said anything about all this because I thought it wasn’t worth it but enough is enough. It’s always the same. If Fernando and Sergio weren’t together and hugging all the time while training or during the pre-match walks, then half the fandom would say that it was over, wondering what has happened, if they were fighting or whatever. I could only laugh. Problem is some people think that it only exist what is on TV and NO. Maybe you’ve been spoiled, because of how much we’ve seen of them together. But because of that, sernando has always been tested, again and again, and if there wasn’t a hundred pics of them, then the answer was that they weren’t friends anymore. Logical.
It seems to me that they have to be constantly showing they’re friends for people to be happy. And taking into account that half the fandom ships couples just because they breath the same air I don’t get why everyone is so demanding when it comes to sernando. That you all don’t see that many pics or videos of them all the time doesn’t mean they’re not friends. Shocking.Â
Sergio says Fernando is one if his best friends. Sernando is over. Fernando says Sergio’s special for him. Sernando is over. Fernando wirtes about Sergio in his book. Sernando is over.
yeah, right.
Bless our shipper heart ❤
I've already said anything in my tags when I reblogged your post but I wanna say it one more time: THANK. YOU. I think some people just don't truly understand their relationship and they need constant reassurance about them (and it's so weird, because I've seen people shipping some very weird ship without any reason). Sergio and Fernando have always had a special connection and they make it clear everytime they can. Running out of characters so just THANK YOU, YOU'RE ALWAYS THE BEST. LOVE YOU.
Your message is PERFECT. THANKS VERY MUCH.Â
Torres just confirmed in a press conference that his renewal with Atleti is almost done. Only small details left.

If you ever feel especially down and unworthy, think about how many times Nando has been beaten to the ground and still kept fighting.Â
And eventually and successfully fought his way up again.
