so about a month ago i realized there was a cute boy in my english class that actually participated in class. thus being the creeper i can be i looked up his info and discovered that he was someone i went to high school with, he’s in a frat (and by my estimates very stereotypical) and parties quite a bit (but that’s a given right?)

then again he also really likes movies and tries in school?? and isn’t conservative?? so i was like wow that’s awesome 

so i figured wow why not follow him on twitter since that’s such a norm anymore and he likes movies so yeah!!!! i guess i was expecting that he’d follow me back for some reason and when he didn’t i got upset??? but like, not really because of the idea he didn’t like me, but more that of course another guy i find attractive doesn’t like me. 

idk. i ended up unfollowing him because i just got so upset and i went back for fun to check his twitter and saw it’s private now so.....i cant help but feel that’s because of me. but maybe it isn’t.

if it is though the guy literally has nO problems in comparison to my a guy (who i said no to go to a dance with him 3 years ago) sending me a fucking package in the mail to my house. and dealing with guys i don’t like coming up to me after class talking to me and asking my name. like wow no stop. good for you, continue with your fake tan and ~perfectly~ built sorority girls but wow sorry hate to break it to you but i’m not ~weird~ or ~creepy~ or whatever the heck it is that you would like to label me.

!! proposal is essentially done- i feel like i still i have so much research to do because i feel like i didn’t do enough this semester even though i did quite a bit--- that’s okay i have the summer!!!! i mean. it’s just an undergraduate thesis but i want to do well on it. we’ll see.

i remember one time in third grade my teacher asked us to make our own “i have a dream _______ “ poster, filling in the one thing we desired. i thought for a bit, then proceeded to put down “world peace.” as i was finishing writing my dream on my small poster cut out, my teacher started to walk around the room to look at everyone’s posters. she came to mine, stopped, took my poster and said, “can everyone stop and look up here for a minute?” my classmates dropped their pencils and looked up at my teacher, and me being the shy nervous kid i was, looked down at the floor and worried what she would say. 

“when i said to write in your dream, i meant that it must be something realistic. take a look at Miranda’s: world peace. this is simply unrealistic. we will never achieve world peace because we are humans, and as humans we sin.” she put my paper down and said “change this.”

i remember being on the verge of tears and so embarrassed that i wanted to just go in a hole and be left there for five days. i don’t even know what i ended up putting down in the end, but as i look back on it now, I think, why the hell can i not dream that? dreams do not always mean they will happen, sometimes they’re not even real; that’s why they are dreams!! and while now we look back at MLK Jr’s speech, we see what he dreamed for in his speech was possible, but what about then? surely they didn’t know for sure. 

dreaming helps us strive to fix what is currently broken and if we, especially this generation now, can do something to fix or improve the homophobia, the still present racism, and women’s equality in the work place in our society, that is one step closer to that dream. not it will never be a utopia of happiness and sunshine and unicorns, but it might just make the world a lot happier place to live in. 

and i have to say, if i were to do that poster today i would write the same thing. i just don’t understand what good it does to tell a 10 year old that her dream is not realistic. so please, everyone, dream big and ignore the people who tell you not to.

Well today at the end of class we made eye contact twice within like 20 seconds and I was like omg maybe he does find me attractive. But then class ended and we went our separate ways, not seeing each other until after break. I found his Twitter a few days ago so I was going through his Twitter on my phone and accidentally followed him then quickly unfollowed him. I told my cousin and she was like just follow him it's not a big deal and then Libby said I should too so I did, my reasoning being he'd follow me back if he was somewhat interested in me. LOL but of course I saw he replied to a tweet and there was no notification that he followed me. Literally love my life so much I need to stop even bothering :") I was so close this time but then it got the best of me. And I thought after writing my Wolf of Wall Street post he might be seriously interested in me :( I should know better that I'll never get the cute boys.
