“Of course. I wouldn’t be where I am now without public libraries. I’m an ally of all librarians, even the very mean one from elementary school. Especially her, in fact.” Artemy smiled an easy smile. “Take my words not as a warning, but a gentle reminder that you should absolutely vote, my librarian friend.”
It was so easy, wasn’t it? For Teddy to not think about freedom for subs. Artemy kept the smile on his face, though he couldn’t help feeling momentarily bitter at this fact. “It’ll only help the city as a whole. If more people are financially successful, it’ll support a healthier economy, especially if submissives can spend more of their money after nightfall.”
“I’m positive,” Artemy assured Teddy. “Wait here. I’ll go put in our order.” He walked off to the counter to do exactly that, putting in their order and handing over money to the cashier before returning to his seat. “I like this little place. I’m going to have to come back soon, I think.”
“Ahh, point taken, point taken.” Teddy replied with a soft laugh. “I suppose I should start investing a little energy in something so important.” He had to agree with Artemy.
“Honestly that sounds reasonable to me. How do you address the alleged safety concerns? I’m never quite sure when I read safety statistics how true they are, you know? Like are they reliable? So if it is safe, then why do it? Keep the curfews I mean.”
He waited for Artemy to return, a little touched that the other man was buying his meal. This didn’t often happen, especially once people found out about his trust fund. Then it was pretty much expected that he foot the bill nearly every time. It was odd to be treated. “I hope you do. It is a personal favourite. I’d like to see my favourite City Councillor around more often.”
