Achilles’ eyes flickered briefly over her body, and it was certainly not an unpleasant view, before he made eye contact with her again, arms crossed over his chest as he rolled his eyes at her words. He was content watching.

“You live plenty for the both of us, Sloan.” He answered, lips curling into a familiar smirk. The man was fond of her, admired her spirit, which he could relate to - a kinship of sorts.

“I can see that considering that you show no physical signs of breasts, and your cheekbones are more defined. So, yes, you are a man. Congrats!” She rolled her eyes with a shrug of her shoulders and a yawn that tinted her last set of words. “I meant, /Who/ are you, and why in the blazing sun are you doing here…in my apartment?” 

With a yawn, the female rolled her shoulders and softly rubbed her heavy eyes with the back of her knuckles. She was tired and growing more annoyed about the man as she watched his feet step closer. “The last time i checked i didn’t order any male stripper to welcome me into my home.. So if you don’t mind, i would delighted if you would leave so i can finally sleep…” Aurora softly hissed, straightening her body now as she moved out of the path towards the door.   Her eyes became fixed on the male, slowly studying his move and how he held himself. It seemed strange to her. Had she done something wrong, she wondered.

Her wit amused him, but Achilles did not miss the way she moved closer to the door. Despite her put-on bravado, the mercenary could tell she sensed something was amiss. She moved closer to the door, as if to escape and that would not do. Not matter how much of an amusement she seemed to provide, he had a job to do. And so he lunged towards her, without any warning and as quick as a viper, with an agility that was honed for the sole purpose of his occupation, and with ease, pinned her against the nearest wall, the blade of the knife now pressed against the delicate flesh of her throat, as he peered down at her.

“I am a mercenary.” He finally answered, his answer purposely vague as his expression gave nothing away. All he had to do was slit her throat and be done with it, like he had done many times before. He had no qualms about killing woman, they were just as much of a target as the plethora of men he had killed in the past. “And why? To kill you, if that wasn’t obvious enough for you.”

Alexander didn’t look up from the book he was poring over as he heard footsteps behind him, footsteps that seemed far too careful and slow. “It takes a lot more than that to sneak up on me.” He announced to quickly put a stop to the attempt.

“I had no intentions of sneaking up, just merely to not alarm you.” Hestia explained, as she noticed he did not turn to look at her. She stepped closer, her footsteps still steady and slow as she near before pausing a feet behind him. “Was it that you are looking at? Must be an interesting book.” She asked, not unkindly as her eyes scanned the room. He seemed rather calm for a mere stranger to be approaching him, the goddess observed.

       “We don’t get a choice in what we come from, but we do choose         what we become.” He was ruminating on existence again. That         sort of thing rarely ended well. “That’s right, isn’t it?”

The woman turned towards him, a kind look in her eyes at the young man’s introspection. She oft mingled among the mortals, and this was no different, as they sat side by side in a nondescript library. “In many ways, yes. Our fates are already predestined, but who we are and what we do with our lives that lead up to it is very much a choice you make” Hestia answered, give him a small smile, conveying a sense that was very much like the warmth of a campfire.

“H-Hello?..” Aurora softly spoke as she walked into the empty halls of her old apartment. Why she said hello when the place was empty and bare, she didn’t know but something seemed off. “Is anyone here?” It seemed as if someone had already made their self at home, but who and why? 

With one foot over the over, Rora stepped farther into the apartment hoping that the place was still under her name and not another. “Maybe it’s nothing…Why would anyone be in her–Who are you!?” Her voice softly while she looked wide eyed at the figure.

He had been waiting for her, poised in the shadows ready. It was a simple enough contract, to take out this young woman. His employer had not told him the reasons why they wanted her dead, just the bare basics and her location that allowed him to carry out his job. And it was not his place to pry, nor did he care, really. They gave him what they wanted and he delivered what they desired, for a fair price. So he arrived at the apartment, seemingly abandoned and cloaked by the night sky pouring in from the windows, he waited.

Achilles stepped out, then, when she called and saw her wide eyes. Far too young with a pretty face, but a deal was a deal. Jealousy, perhaps? He did not know. He took a step forward, calm and sure - he may be a mercenary for hire but he was still a professional - and then paused.

“...A man.” He answered, humouring the girl with a response before taking another step towards her, the shadows hiding the brandishing of a knife. It was his preferred weapon, and if that didn’t work, there was always the other weapons hidden on his person. Let her wonder, and then attack, he thought.
