By now I’d hope everyone who’s keeping up has seen the eighteenth episode of Darling in the FRANXX because talk about a crushing end. Watching Kokoro and Mitsuru get to commit themselves to one another, only to have it taken away in the blink of an eye, was disappointing. Considering what happened to Zero Two and Hiro long ago, this makes sense, but why are the adults in this world so dead set to prevent the children, the parasites, to be more than pilots?

All of that said, there’s the slightest hope at the end of the episode when Kokoro sees falling cherry blossoms, possibly a hint that maybe some of her memories still linger in a way similar to Hiro and Zero Two that will soon be unlocked.
