Born on December 18, 1974, in Baltimore, Maryland, Dino found fame as a member of H-Town alongside his twin brother Solomon “Shazam” Conner and friend Darryl “G.I.” Jackson.The group took its name from Houston.And before long, the city helped launch them into stardom.
The album became a major success.
Its biggest single, Knockin’ Da Boots, exploded across radio stations throughout America.
The song reached No. 1 on the R&B charts.
Sold more than a million copies.
And became one of the defining records of 1990s R&B.
At the center of it all was Dino’s voice.
As H-Town’s lead singer, he helped turn songs like Lick U Up, Emotions, and Part Time Lover into fan favorites.
The group sold millions of records.
And became one of the era’s most recognizable R&B acts.
By 2003, Dino was working on a comeback.
New music was being recorded.
A new chapter seemed ready to begin.
On January 28, 2003, Dino left a recording session in Houston.
He was riding in a car with his girlfriend, Teshya Rae Weisent.
As they drove through an intersection, another vehicle ran a red light and crashed into them.
The collision was devastating.
Both Dino and his girlfriend were thrown from the vehicle.
His girlfriend died at the scene.
Emergency crews rushed Dino toward a hospital.
But his injuries were too severe.
He died before he could arrive.
He was only 28 years old.
Just hours earlier, he had been in the studio making music.
Working on a return to the spotlight.
