Random Lil Furina Headcanon: Despite really needing to learn how to cook anything other than macaroni, she's taken up baking as a hobby because of her love for desserts. So far it's only Neuvillette who knows of this since she a bit embarrassed to admit to anyone she isn't close to that she's an amatuar baker. But because Neuvillette is the only person who knows of her hobby, he (and ofc the Salon Members) are the prime taste testers of her creations.

DIPLOMACY WAS NEVER really his thing, even when it seemed to be to apologize to him. That was a first, actually. He was more often the reason his colleagues needed to swoop in to smooth things over — or not, depending on the situation.
It was weird.
Lady Furina had sent flowers, gifts, even mora. He had to wonder if she thought he might try to drown her nation, like he had Liyue — ha, as if he had the means or motivation.
But he didn't mind some of the gifts, so he didn't see the harm in it. The old man said a little bit of fear around the Fatui was a good thing, anyways.
"You're so kind! I'm starved, actually. I didn't get much of a chance to try any of your local specialties, before your machine threw me in jail, haha! What would you recommend?"
Were it possible to disappear where she sat, Furina would've immediately done so. Her first reaction was to laugh nervously because how else could she react to that other than with awkward silence? How she wished she Monsieur Neuvillette was beside her! He was always a quick thinker and knew exactly what to say, especially when speaking with certain characters. For the centuries they had worked together and the hundreds of diplomat meetings she (quietly) sat through, Furina tried her best to respond as how Monsieur Neuvillette would.
She clears her throat and bows her head slightly as she puts her hand over her heart, the action done in sincerity and also to soothe her rapid heartbeat. "My sincerest apologies for the trouble we have caused you. As I've shared in my letters, any accommodations needed to settle any grievances are highly welcomed to discuss. I know I'm no longer the Hydro archon, but I promise that the Iudex and I both wish to do all that we can to not only make up for every injustice but also to thank you for your part in saving Fontaine."
"Ah, um, some recommendations." She clears her throat and begins to flip through the menu despite already knowing everything the cafe has to offer. "It depends on your tastes. The Duck Confit is a savory dish that is quite delicious and filling. But if you prefer something as tasty and comforting as a home-cooked meal, I also recommend the Cassoulet. You could also never go wrong with the macaroni from here."

Furina cocks her head with a look of confusion on her face. She manages to stop herself from verbally expressing her doubts so as not to offend the other. 'How odd! That can't be! A little animal like this one is said to move the sky? Surely it would burn if it was too close to the sun?' Granted, the same doubts of existence could be said about many existing peculiarities of this world. And so, the more she thought of it, her doubt turned into genuine curiosity.
"How interesting. Even it's shell looks like armor." She reaches out with flattened hands so the scarab could safely move over to her. When it does, Furina smiles, "What a wonderful peculiarity! Is the onikabuto's history as rich as the scarabs? You must tell me all about this game with the beetles!"
