Therion practically fell against the other, his face completely red from how he had simply admitted how he felt about the other. Really, it had just tumbled out. Had Cyrus ignored it and not said anything he probably wouldn’t have realized what he had said. But now that the scholar was holding him like this, Therion couldn’t help but return the hug by wrapping his own arms around the other.

{MATTHEW} ---- “And yet... In a way, I’m still him. I may not act like him, but we’re the same person. His mistakes are my own. I may not have made them yet but the fact that such a thing even happened means that it’s still possible for it to happen again.

He should just find his way back to his time. The longer he’s here the more likely he is to mess up time even more. Sure going back meant that he would one day die to Ophilia and commit atrocities, but if that’s his fate that was decided by Aelfric, then who was he to deny that?

“Ah, my apologies Therion. It simply looked like that you needed a hug is all. I mean you no harm.” He said reassuringly, before pulling his arms away. He gave Therion a small smile as he moved away from the thief a little, he didn’t know why he had wanted to hug Therion; he wasn’t often one for affection after all.

Therion frowned as the other pulled away, and he shook his head. Why was he fine with Cyrus hugging him like that? He didn’t know, but that didn’t stop him from grabbing onto the other’s hand.

{THERION} ---- “It’s... It’s fine.”

A light blush appeared on the thief’s face, and he tried to ignore the fact that it was there.

Therion hadn’t been expecting for the scholar to sudden pull him into a hug like this, but here he was. He looked towards Cyrus, a look of confusion on his face. What in the hell was the other doing?

Matthew was in a bad situation and he knew it. Just from how these people were looking at him he could tell he wasn’t welcomed. Perhaps he shouldn’t have come to Wispermill seeking answers to what the future him had done. Obviously it was nothing good.

Being a Cleric meant he could defend himself, sure. But he didn’t exactly want to unleash powerful magics upon the townsfolk. So he stuck with only healing himself as he tried to talk to them.

There was nothing that could be done though, as it seemed like they weren’t listening to him. (Again, he wouldn’t blame them.)

And then that scholar showed up.

He didn’t know the man’s name, but the fact that he was here to help was enough for him.

{MATTHEW} ---- “Th... Thank you, sir?”

Did this man know who he was? Why was he helping him?
