Piltover’s Finest Fanfiction Recommendation
Sidenote: I have read quite a lot of Piltover’s Finest over on AO3. I am compiling this list mainly for myself to keep track but I would also like to share my thoughts as well as recommending them to people. I will also mark if they have explicit content. The list can change, and I will add more if I missed something or I found something.

Personal Favorite Story: What a Big Surprise
NEW stories to read: At First Sight (Explicit Content but worth the read)
Comments: Very soft, very adorable stories. I can certainly feel the passion and the love in these stories. Their Cupcake is one of the most Kudos Caitvi story and it’s for a reason; I personally couldn’t stop grinning from beginning to end with Caitlyn’s crush onto Vi in this story but my personal favorite from this author is What a Big Surprise. In the show, even though I have watched those moments countless times, this story has brought out a more in-depth look behind Vi’s thoughts. And the last chapter brought tears to my eyes.

Personal Favorite Story: Silver Spoons
Comments: I love every day life stories. I love wholesome stories and that is what Silver Spoons is. This was the most visited story I ever went back to, and it’s for a good reason. These snapshots of Vi and Caitlyn’s relationship just makes you smile throughout the entire thing. The dynamic is very natural and I love that they’re long time friends before they are lovers. Their collection of roses are red, violets are blue are down right cute. It is a reimagining of Teen Vi and Teen Cait meeting each other, with a bit of teasing from Mylo, Clagger, and Powder.

NEW Stories to read: of all the girls I snuck in through my window what goes around comes around brown, blue, violet sky (Hogwarts AU - bias cause it’s a gift for me but I read this every day cause it’s so good)
Comments: I often am found speechless when it comes to Taq. They have the most brilliant and satisfying stories. (I have) what you want is more on the light heart scale but I really appreciate the interaction as well as the callback to Vi and Caitlyn first met. Their other stories, their other collections, are very intriguing - anytime they post a story, I immediately rush to read it. They have a way with words and it feels like I’m actually seeing the scene from the character’s POV.

Comments: I love the portrayal this author does for Vi and Caitlyn. Way too lovable and way too amazing. Don’t get me started on the writing too because I legit can go on and on about how much it hooks me, how much I’m absolutely in love with it, how much I’m blown away by it. The author does a great job in all of the stories, not just the Piltover’s Finest but my god, did I enjoy reading these.

Comment: Note that I once had a dream of their recent story (the night has a thousand eyes) - this has Kai’sa/Seraphine/Ahri as well as Caitlyn/Vi. So I would also say this story is one of my personal favorites. If I start dreaming about a story, then yeah the author is going to be on the list of my favorite authors. The fact that I can visualize and be enamored of their writing in my own dream says a lot. Their other stories are so f’ing cute, so FUCKING (pardon my language) adorable. Love how they write their characters, love their interactions together, love love love everything in what they do.

Stories to read: the heart’s epiphany driving away (i wish i’d stayed)
Comment: ANGST central. She knows how to pull your heartstrings and more. If you love pain and suffering like I do with your favorite characters, I would recommend this for anyone who likes their pain go with their sappy ending. The heart’s epiphany is the ol’ friends with benefits to lovers to exes to lovers again is one I live for. The way the author writes in this one is just so amazingly well done; I love that it’s non linear with the past affecting their current situation, the emotions that are written out is just soooo impactful, the story telling just kept me hooked over and over again. I would recommend checking out her other stories as well. The imagery and description she uses in her stories are top notch.

Updated: All We Share is this small town is completed! I fully recommend it if you love hallmark, cheesy christmas romantic stories. It’s definitely a story I will go back to every Christmas.
Comments: I love the dynamic the author creates in these stories. The author is incredible at not just the interactions Caitlyn and Vi have but the interactions with other characters as well. It all feels so realistic as if I’m watching the show directly. I recommend following her current story which is now Teenage Sumprat. It has a great build up and it may have some cheesy tropes but the author nail them. Her other stories which are one shots are incredibly fluffy and sappy. Happiness all around but incredibly well written all the same.

Stories to read: MMA AU Series, The Threads of Fate Tangle And Twist, The World Ends, Or Doesn’t
Comments: I mentioned them before under my favorite stories category back when they had the MMA AU one shot (and many more). I’m so happy that they expanded the universe because I believe they are one of the best in terms of story telling, character categorization, and writing I have ever seen. They boast a lot of kudos and comments for good reason. I recommend the MMA AU series and Threads because I can assure you if you like AUs, you would definitely love these stories. They are so beautifully written and it just feels so natural how they place the Arcane characters in each of these stories. My previous comment about their MMA AU:
One of the best AUs out there. The dynamic and interaction in this feels so incredibly natural - I adore the little texts between the two. They are well written and extremely captivating. I go back to this AU every night because of how much I enjoy reading them. The relationship with Vi and Caitlyn goes past the surface level and I love every parts of it. It has great moments with their parents, their relationship discussions, their every day life, it just feels real.

Comments: If you like action stories, if you like great story telling, I would highly recommend TheHomelyBadger. When it comes to their universes, there’s great care in them. Carpenter is one I would definitely recommend because it tackles a lot of the issues you can find in real life relationships and the way they write Cait and Vi is so very precious and so very real. If I were to compare to their stories, they’re like movies. Works of art on the big screen, their writing has a way to bring that out so vividly. If you like slow burns, heart-ache, and a great universe, I recommend following their current story My love is the killing kind. (Explicit Monster Fucking on chapter 25).

Comments: Butterflies is approaching one of my most visited, re-reading I have for a single story ever. This author is magnificient in writing out her stories. The things I love in all of her stories is her humor, her writing, and her characters. Butterflies has a lot of sexual content but the plot is so amazingly written, it’s one of those you can’t put down at all (at least for me). As for her other stories, they are very light hearted and they will guarantee to make you smile.

Comments: One of the best time travel AUs I have ever read. I wrote about a 2k~ word count review of this story detailing my favorite moments in this story. I don’t know how I can shorten it here but if you love forbidden, secret, opposite sides of the war relationships (with time travel), I truly recommend this.

Comments: TEAMUP SPIES AU. All those amazing action spies tropes? In one story? Sign me up! The action sequences, the undercover ‘relationship’, their actual relationship, the usage of each character in this spies universe, (Jinx as a gray hat hacker? Vi and Caitlyn as badass spies with bond villain Silco? CODENAMES, What’s not to love!). Everything about this hits my desire and love for the spies au and the author did it fantastically.
It all starts with a club in Barcelona. - One of the best hooks for an action story based AU.

Comments: A look at Caitlyn and Vi’s relationship from different perspectives and point of view. So well done. It’s just refreshing because we are technically like the outsiders looking at Caitlyn and Vi’s relationship but in this story, the citizens of Piltover and Zaun with their many rumors is fun to see how they speculate the relationship as well as how damaging it can be too. I just find it amazing because the author did a fantastic job of bringing these characters to life and each having their own personality. There are some chapters of where it’s also from Caitlyn and Vi’s perspective as well so you can truly see how they’re feeling. My favorite line from the story
“I know it can be daunting, and you’re carrying way too much on your shoulders. But what they see, what they speculate are just shades of us. Nobody knows the real you or me. That’s only our story to tell.” - Vi

Comments: a hearing loss story. This one is a bit bias because it hits close to home for me as someone close to me is deaf. I know sign language myself due to growing up with that person so the impact in this story is very real. I made a comment in the story that I think the author handled it very well. I don’t want to spoil too much so I would recommend you all to read it because it does have a happy ending. It is a very sweet story, and an emotional one as well.

Comments: Vi likes to block with her face. I enjoy reading this character study of Vi, why she does things alone, why she tends to her wounds alone, until she met Caitlyn and realizes it’s okay to lean on people.

Comments: Fake dating AUs are one of my favorites AU and I enjoy it even more when it’s wholesome. This is exactly what Plus One is about. I adore Caitlyn’s parents in this one but I am absolutely amazed with the banter and the interaction between Vi and Caitlyn. Plus there’s dogs in this story.

Comments: I love fluff, I love cheesy childhood to lovers tropes, and I love piltover’s finest! All into this lovely story. As much as I love Powder/Jinx, I enjoyed the interaction between Caitlyn and Vi in this story. The awkward teenage love to the fully bloomed relationship. I had followed this story since around chapter 4 and it has put a smile onto my face whenever a new chapter gets uploaded. It’s fully done now but I love the journey where it got to the point of their partnership to where it is now currently.

Comments: What can I say about this story other than WOW. The relationship between Caitlyn and Vi starts off rocky, as neighbors and growing into something more. And it’s so, so good the journey they had. The best parts of this story are the povs and parallels the author put in. The story is just beautifully written and the emotions are quite raw. It is one of the few stories that moved me to tears but I expect this so coming from sophnyx who wrote no powder but stardust.

Comments: I don’t know how many times I laughed in public while I was reading this. Vi being a rager, threatening to afk, and bullying Jayce is top tier entertainment for me. I’ve played league for over a decade and other games especially WoW as well so I relate A LOT to Vi as being the sole tank in my friend group of games. Fellow gamers would love this story as well as the developing relationship between Vi and Caitlyn online. The author is amazing at capturing their personality in the gaming world and as always, I enjoy the flow and writing style of their stories.

Comments: Post College AU / Roadtrip AU. Fluffiness in all 5 chapters, I read this from the beginning and I liked the journey of their relationship. I enjoy the dynamic of Vi and Powder in this one as well as the interaction between Vi and Caitlyn. I find it humorous that they essentially fell for each other in a grand of four days - similar to how the show is as well - but I like their personalities in this one. Feels natural, and overall refreshing. If I were to describe this story in one word, it would be freedom. Freedom to live out their lives and freedom to be with each other.
